I stopped playing Sonic games after my disappointment in Sonic Heroes. There was a great Mega64 video somewhere that pretty much described how sonic games pretty much are nowadays using a fast-food restaurant, it'd be great to pull that out.

Believe me. If you loved the Day-Time stages in Sonic Unleashed, you should get Sonic Colors. It's pretty much the Day-Time stages of Unleashed in 1 game with some game-changing power-ups in the mix that (thankfully) don't ruin the experience.

Never played unleashed either. I played heroes and thought "Well that was okay", then I played Shadow and I was like "Screw it they stopped trying".
So Shadow the Hedgehog was the last one I played.

Unleashed was good, except for the Werehog parts. Fuck they were slow and boring.
This looks so promising, I'll be happy enough if Sega actually decides to port the game for PC. The last modern Sonic game they ported was Sega All-star Racers last year. Even though they decided to not include multiplayer it was still in my opinion incredibly fun and more so than Mario Kart.
Here's to hope this won't be 60$

Then you should at least rent Unleashed (doesn't matter which version, really) and/or Colors (I prefer the Wii Version over DS).
