I feel awesome because I just killed the eater of worlds without hitting it. :v:
How did you manage that?
What's that from?
Jurassic Park IIRC
I just found a standalone terraria server client. It requires you to already own terraria. Just put it in your terraria folder in your steam files. Steam doesn't have to run for this to run. The thread on terrariaonline.com was removed and the user was banned for creating a terraria mod. http://www.mediafire.com/?0i1ilbcjwwhchdm The original post before it was removed.
This is a server hosting terraria client that has been dissassembled, recompiled, and stripped down so that you can only host servers. It's only modification so far is a config file with a few settings, but I thought the community would atleast like to have something rather than nothing. Download link: http://www.mediafire.com/?0i1ilbcjwwhchdm UPDATED FOR v1.0.2 Just extract it to your C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\terraria folder Constant Invasion: Goblin invasion mode will constantly be on and never turn off Constant Bloodmoon: Every night is a bloodmoon; Guide Enable/Disable (keep pesky guide from opening doors to zombies) Random Bosses: Can turn off the Eye of Chutulu from randomly spawning Max monster spawns at one time and monster spawn rate can be adjusted (very high is fun) Forced PVP: all players will have pvp auto enabled on join and can not turn it off All these settings are changed in the accompanying serverconfig.txt. Please notify me of any glitches, crashes, errors, or suggestions. Kick and Ban commands are already coming, just couldn't do it tonight. (special note: steam does NOT need to be running for this to run)
[editline]24th May 2011[/editline] I got a server up and running with increased spawns and blood moon every night. 67.170.56.35 facepunch
Yes. Yes, if you mean my spare one, and yes. I'm unable to give them out at the moment, though. :saddowns: Remind me in 10-12 hours and I'll have them ready.
May I have that Muramasa and Hand Gun now good sir?

Would be a pretty fun boss battle, since all the bosses are either flying or burrowing, so a "walking and hopping" boss would be, you know, boss.
Ok, I've nearly completed the new and updated version of my admin system. The big thing I've added is being able to use dlls to add your own code without having to decompile the client. I tried to change the client as little as possible from standard behaviour. So far you can only add code for joining, leaving, and chat, but I'll be expanding that in later releases. I'll also release the source to the dlls so you'll have a place to start when creating your own functions. This will also make it easier for me to update it when a new update comes out. Once I get back from class tonight I'll be able to finish it and release it.
Thanks for this, I was reading about it on the forum, however things and evidence got removed, for whatever reason. I don't quite understand why someone would be so damn uptight about mods? I mean, the community is a large collection that can greatly improve (or destroy on the other hand) anything that's as fun as this.
So, yeah, a Flamelash. The stuff in the chest is what I'm trading for it.
I'll trade you a flamelash for a sunfury, accept my friend request on steam.
So any idea what could cause the Dryad to never spawn again ever? (I've killed many bosses, that's obviously not it.) It appears I'm the only one to ever get this problem. EDIT: Jesus fucking christ why do I even bother going to this thread for help.
Jurassic Park IIRC
Oh wow, I thought it was something recent with the whole 2d thing.
I restarted my server. Forgot to add an extra zero to the config file and it was fucked up. 67.170.56.35 facepunch

I believe its probably because if they lose creative control to random people like us, the game can more easily be pirated, updated, and no DLC purchased.
The thread on terrariaonline.com was removed and the user was banned for creating a terraria mod.
Whoa wait, really? Why would anyone DISCOURAGE modding?
I'm not going to be on the server, but be ready for some fun... Just a repost for anyone needing info: [release]
Nightly Terraria
A New World Every Night! Nightly Terraria is a simple little server for anyone to join. It's a small sized world, and it is reset every night. It's perfect for hopping on and doing some quick exploration in a new world with friends. Just remember that this world is temporary. I'm going to be reseting it every night, so don't store anything that you don't want to lose. Feel free to jump on any time, whether you are just beginning this game or have been playing since the day it came out! Coming soon: Giveaways, contests, and a dedicated trading post!
-SERVER-
For some weird reason it tells me im already on the server :raise:

Then again, its just an "official" forum so I guess, they don't want to advertise modding.
A mod isn't necessarily a third party client.
The reason why mods are strongly frowned upon by the creators of Terraria, is listed on the forums, somewhere.
Hello guys and girls. It's 2011 and you should be aware and if not that you should never ever download files especially .exe's .scr nd so on. Just because your virus scanner says its clean does not mean its clean. People create new viruses each day and let alone put things in it that does many bad things that a virus scanner just can't always pick up on. Just don't download it or your only going to be hurting yourself.
I particularly like the "your" in that last line. Edit: As much as I appreciate this guy's concern for the safety of others, I can't help but think "PUNCTUATION MOTHERFUCKER, DO YOU COMPREHEND IT!?" every time I even try reading through that post.
I'll be hosting a tournament rather soon guys.
I'm sorry to say that I don't really like this guy.
Woo! Finally got rocket boots from a Goblin Invasion!
I'll be hosting a tournament rather soon guys.
I've made a 4v4 arena (of course, supports 3v3/2v2/1v1 as well). It's currently not entirely finished (haven't been working much on it today), but it shouldn't take too long to finish it if you want me to. Would you prefer it to have a lava pit in the middle of the arena, or not?
Since now that I have everything that I love in the game, I decided to save in-game money. About one plat right now
Since now that I have everything that I love in the game, I decided to save in-game money. About one plat right now
Yeah I haven't exactly been saving it, but I get so much that I have a ton left over. I have 3 platinum right now.
Yeah I haven't exactly been saving it, but I get so much that I have a ton left over. I have 3 platinum right now.
Yeah, I was deciding that I should have some sort of mushroom garden growing at least somewhere.
Somehow managed to delete the arena :ohdear: I guess I'll wait for the map editor instead. Still got items up for trade: Muramasa, Aqua Scepter, Handgun, Starfury Cobalt Shield, Feral claw, Rocket boot 11 Life crystals, 99 fallen stars Shadow armor set
Yeah, I was deciding that I should have some sort of mushroom garden growing at least somewhere.
Last time I tried making one it didn't work. It was pitch black and below ground too.
I want whips and throwing spears
