I'm working on getting all copper, iron, silver and gold armor sets, broadswords and bows. Then, I'll gather 3 friends, everyone equips one set, and only has the broadsword, bow, hookshot, sticky bombs and (fire) arrows (edit: and pegasus boots), and we'll go for the dungeon. Oh yeah, beat Eye of Cthulhu and Skeletron in one night! Also, goblin invasion, got two rocket boots :)

Everywhere I need to go is covered in corruption. I don't have a nightmare pick to break corruption tiles. The only way I can get that pick is to kill the eye of cthulhu or the eater of worlds. I don't have good enough weapons or supplies to kill either of them. The only way to get supplies is to explore and mine, but everywhere I need to go is covered in corruption. Can anyone tell me how to get better weapons to kill one of the bosses? My strongest weapon is the iron broadsword.
