How many times do I have to destroy shadow orbs so a meteorite falls out of the sky?

One had a meteorite hit almost instantly, (Also, A goblin invasion happened, not sure if it was linked), and the other i had to wait a few minutes for.

You can have mine, since I have the cobalt set (which is a straight upgrade to it).

odd, let me try it again. Edit: No dice. and i'm still not using hamachi.

I don't really see the point in trading at the moment, there aren't that many items in the game, and they aren't very hard to get. It's more fun trying to get them yourself.
