Probably because they win against new players and ELO rating raises beyond their capabilities and they hit a new rank that they don't have the brain power for.

Well I've decided to start again because I felt like it and had a good first round back but now I'm looking for another hero since I can't go on forever as kayle and there's the off chance I'll end up with a kayle on my team and I have to pick another hero which I normally suck ass at so I've been looking for a new champion to use, I'm deciding between soraka, taric or garen, who's best or should I go for something else?

Soraka is the best out of the champions you listed but keep in mind all you'll be doing is healing, you don't really have any means of killing other champions

You could silence them with a little damage too and help your team by reducing their magic resistance, but Soraka is pretty much support-only.

If your team is filled with herpaderps, you're not going to win as Soraka no matter what. Really, I would only play Soraka if you were in a premade and you knew your teammates were competent. She's an incredible supporter, but when it comes down to it, that's all she is: a supporter. Supporting brain deads only makes them slightly tankier brain deads. Of course, you can still solo queue with her, but I really find that to be a big Russian Roulette. Taric, while a bit lower than Soraka in the supporter role, has the advantage of being more suited for solo queues. He's usually built tank, plus he has a stun, so he can handle a bit of herpaderp from your team and still come out victorious. Garen is meh.
