I don't know but I hope they're back soon so I can start testing out new champs again

hahaha no he isn't, just get your ult, cd reduc, and whenever you see an enemy champ running back to base with low health hit your r and bam instant kills.
Karthus is a ton of fun though, once you get the hang of Lay Waste.

Kassadin is a ganking beast. Definitely getting him. What's your guys opinion on having a Kassadin on your team?
Oh god I love it when I get a good Kassadin on my team. I used to play him a shitton but he got kind of too easy for me, so I bought Karthus. Just make sure you have enough mana to blink out once you nuke everyone and they start to focus you.
Nidalee is freakin' awesome. Her ulti is fantastic, you become CD based. i would just switch into kitty mode, do some damage and when they run throw a spear at 'em
Also tried Kassadin, im not very good with caster"ish" characters but surprisingly riftwalk is damn good to gank with.

Can you share a build or some advice for Karthus? The "hit r insta kill" isn't working too well. I get kills with it but it's not really enough.

I've been using mobafire for builds and have found a nice Ashe one.
Also how to runes work? I've looked on the LoL wiki, but it wasn't too helpful.
For serious play yi sucks period. Anything and everything works for pubstomp.
AP yi= w/e
Fuck Year Kassadin.
Sucks having to be a leader, telling everyone what to do. They would all be scattered for the team fights.

I start out with a ruby crystal which I upgrade into a Catalyst, then I buy sorcerer's boots, then I upgrade the catalyst into a RoA, after the RoA I get a Void Staff and a Zhonya's ring. By then the game should be over but if it isn't I buy an Archangel's Staff.
For masteries go with 9/0/21 and make sure you get the magic pen mastery.

like acid said, requires more of a farm, also it's much better to get AD, get around 300 AD with highlander
