Keep it EU and US to be honest, would be interesting to see a EU vs US match of SC2.
Keep it EU and US to be honest, would be interesting to see a EU vs US match of SC2.
It already is EU and US, and that won't change. [editline]11:42PM[/editline] Registration is now open, see OP for the rules (which contain registration details).
Hey I'm running this beast with gparent and it is going to be a lot of fun. Please find below the details of how to register if you can't open the document in the OP:
To register, players will must email fpopen+registration@gparent.org with the following information: Facepunch account name: gparent Starcraft 2 account name: NA.gparent.769 Email: gparent@gparent.org Entrants must replace the bold sample information with their own. Please use this exact format for registration. Copy-paste the above exactly as-is, replacing my information with yours. It will make it a lot easier for the organizers should they use automated tools to handle registration. Entry notes: Format for Starcraft 2 account name is: TypeOfAccount.AccountName.CharacterCode. TypeOfAccount should be NA for North America, or EU for European. Thread posts, private messages, Battle.net messages or anything other than emailing the above address will lead to your registration being rejected. Players will receive a confirmation email only once they have been seeded into the tournament. This may take a few days.
You may also include your sig link from http://sc2sig.com/ in the email, it is not needed but means we can use your sig in overlays and stuff without having to manually look everyone up. It would be cool if people posted them in here as well so people signing up know what kind of folks they are up against. We will be putting up videos of the better games casted by us, but also if you happen to be an awesome caster please send me a pm with example work if you are interesting in casting some of this tourney as there will be way more games played than we can cast ourselves.
Fucking SEA lock for Aussies...
Just entered. I might not be able though if the time of the tournament doesn't fit. I think you should figure out when to have the tournament soon. [editline]05:33PM[/editline] Doesn't seem like it wants to email fpopen+registration@gparent.org "We're writing to let you know that the group you tried to contact (fpopen) may not exist, or you may not have permission to post messages to the group. A few more details on why you weren't able to post: blah blah"

Unless you're going on a 3-week vacation, you should be fine. EDIT: Should work now.
Email registration is working for those people like me that didn't notice gparent's ninja edit
Is the spare account going to be in the EU or the NA region?
Is the spare account going to be in the EU or the NA region?
"The" spare account is EU, however, I'm expecting it will be easy enough to get guest passes for both regions. I'm still not sure how to handle lag, to be honest. Sure you can do a match in region 1, the second match in region 2, and so on, but that just seems annoying. This isn't mentioned yet in the rules (because with the finals we have some additional liberties), but it will probably end up being player choice or coin toss, and they can followup on whichever server they like (keep it the same or change every game). I'm open to suggestions. HDH was played on North American servers exclusively, and the lag wasn't a major issue for even the top players.

When I played with you it was okay.
I may be getting it today, so it's a maybe for me!
You better be making videos of every round or so help me, god...
How will times be decided?
How will times be decided?
Arbitrarily depending on how long it takes you guys to usually do the games. It will be a certain period - I will hand out match ups and you will have X number of weeks to do the games and send in your replays. Once that is done, we proceed to the next round, and so on. I say weeks but in a perfect world it would only take a few days to perform every match of every round, with a small pause in-between so me and HTF can handle the results.
I'd like to play in this, but I'm not sure it will be people of all skill levels or just Platinum/Diamond players.
I'd like to play in this, but I'm not sure it will be people of all skill levels or just Platinum/Diamond players.
Worst that will happen is that you'll get dropped early. Remember that the round robins are not best of 3, so there's no chance that you will get owned by each player twice in a row. And there will be other lower players anyway.
i'll play setting up my battle net account tomorrow though when i get my computer! i'm from the eu region though! :)
I would join since i think i would have a good chance of reaching 3rd place, hell, maybe even 2nd or 1st, but im stuck using my brothers guest account and sometimes play online since that was his childhood game And if my computer could actually run the game without much lag
Already got 8 registrations, keep it up you guys who voted.
Were we sopposed to get an Email back if you got our registration? I dunno of the email went through or not :(
Were we sopposed to get an Email back if you got our registration? I dunno of the email went through or not :(
Your email went through. You're going to get an email once we start seeding people, and it may take a while depending how fast you guys register. Which if you haven't, please do. I hope 40 people didn't vote yes just for the sake of it.
Are people going to be commentating some of the later matches? or could they be spectate-able
Are people going to be commentating some of the later matches? or could they be spectate-able
Not decided on spectators yet. We were discussing commentating but since HTF let the cat out of the bag I guess we're going to have to try it out :) Can't guarantee quality though!
posting to say I registered
I'm in. I'm NA. Chichen 573 ^for if you need my info.
I'm in. I'm NA. Chichen 573 ^for if you need my info.
Can you read the rules and register the proper way? Email is the only thing I keep track of. Thanks.
Just got your confirmation email, i cant wait!
We have 4 round robin groups filled, lets keep up the registering! As for commentaries, they will be recorded and not streamed live, we are nowhere near pro commentator level though so don't expect it to be as good as the hdh or kotb. We will be releasing a replay pack for everyone to look at as well after the tournament finishes.
I'm sending those confirmation emails in batches so don't expect to receive it a few hours after your registration, it could take a day or two.
