14 sets, none are mine. why do I bother anymore
Just keep trying man. Just be glad you aren't making anything for tf2, only the same 5 people ever get anything in.
so greedy
You and Maruhai should hook up, so you can make awful posts together in perfect harmony. There's nothing wrong with being upset about your items not making it in-game, especially with how frequently items make it into the game in general. You shouldn't be making items solely for them to make it in-game though, you should do it because you enjoy doing it, them getting in the game is a bonus.

Pretty much what Devon said, which is even funnier when Scrake starts saying Vlad makes bad submissions even tho they both do it for the money.
if scrake is continually voicing disappointment about his items not making it in doesn't that kinda give the impression he's doing it with the hopes to get them ingame rather than to have fun making them maybe I just don't understand people but that was the vibe I've always gotten from the whole situation
And although that is true, you don't tell someone "There's better contributors than you" because not only is that incredibly rude but that's not even remotely relevant. Regardless, it's human nature to be disappointed when your hard work doesn't get acknowledged. If any reason for him to stop voicing disappointment is because it gets tedious and/or annoying, not because of his reasoning for making items.
2 items in a crate of 8 isn't enough right
And although that is true, you don't tell someone "There's better contributors than you" because not only is that incredibly rude but that's not even remotely relevant.
that's also not my thoughts, I'm trying to rationalize why one would think scrake should relax (not why one would say something like "There's better contributors than you")
Regardless, it's human nature to be disappointed when your hard work doesn't get acknowledged. If any reason for him to stop voicing disappointment is because it gets tedious and/or annoying, not because of his reasoning for making items.
of course, but the problem is it HAS become rather tedious (at least to me), and it IS annoying for some people, as much as you resent those people
Then tell Scrake to shut up and that no one cares, don't insult him and his work. (speaking in reference to what Maruhai did, not talking about you in particular or anything like that)
Because telling a person to shut up is less rude than saying that there are better contributors than him.
Because telling a person to shut up is less rude than saying that there are better contributors than him.
Yes, it is. One is telling him to go away and that no one cares for his complaining, the other is insulting him on a personal level via targeting the quality of his work. I didn't mean literally "shut up" I mean telling him to stop complaining.
You're a weird person.
Yes, it is. One is telling him to go away and that no one cares for his complaining, the other is insulting him on a personal level via targeting the quality of his work. I didn't mean literally "shut up" I mean telling him to stop complaining.
tbh he didnt really target how good his work was, he just said there are better contributors whose work might be more deserving of getting in I don't really know where everybody got the whole "Maruhai called scrakes work bad" mentality came from, he never even said anything about the quality of HIS work.
Dude I'm just a shitposter it's ok.
tbh he didnt really target how good his work was, he just said there are better contributors whose work might be more deserving of getting in I don't really know where everybody got the whole "Maruhai called scrakes work bad" mentality came from, he never even said anything about the quality of HIS work.
Saying someone is a better contributor can mean a lot of things. I guess that's just how I saw it. [editline]23rd August 2013[/editline]
Dude I'm just a shitposter it's ok.
You kinda needlessly insult people in half of your posts dude

Yeah I do it for money indeed, I have a lot of fun making concepts and all this stuff for dota, but I mostly do it because I need money. But hey I suppose I should quit, seems like you can only do stuff if you do it for fun and fun only :(
tbh if you don't have fun making items they won't get in. If you don't have fun making items your items will be shittier than the ones of people enjoying what they do.
and like I said I do have fun making them, but I still mostly do it because I want to get them in. But it seems that's wrong.
Everyone is making their items to get them into the game at one level or another. If anyone says otherwise they are lying.
There is nothing wrong with that, but you shouldn't constantly complain about them not getting in when your intentions are not as great as others.
Do people have other intentions than money?
Apparently, yeah, only me and vlad do it for money.
i hate to break up this lovely line of conversation, but is steam being shit for anyone else? i can't look at the dota 2 store and trades aren't working i just want to look at the new items valve, is that so much to ask
Because telling a person to shut up is less rude than saying that there are better contributors than him.
That's not the problem, I think. There are worse contributors than him (or Hawf, or other Workshop contributors) which got more items ingame than them.
Do people have other intentions than money?
why do you think people are fucking making items for this game [editline]24th August 2013[/editline] omg lel i spend a fuckton of my free time to get high-quality items for fun i dont care about money :~)
Do people have other intentions than money?
If I ever got something in game seeing people wear it and talk about it would be enough for me, the moneys just a bonus
why do you think people are fucking making items for this game [editline]24th August 2013[/editline] omg lel i spend a fuckton of my free time to get high-quality items for fun i dont care about money :~)
I don't think you are quite good at reading.
If I ever got something in game seeing people wear it and talk about it would be enough for me, the moneys just a bonus
It would suck to spend tens of hours (or even hundreds in total) on making quality items and then not getting any money even though they were implemented. (if your item is labelled common it will pretty much never be bought)
Everyone is making their items to get them into the game at one level or another. If anyone says otherwise they are lying.
And this is why the whole workshop is just a bad idea. Just make something rather popular with low quality and people jump on it, while great models get out of sight. [editline]23rd August 2013[/editline] The whole "make items for money!" killed the quality of TF2. Old days when mods where just mod used to be way more nice.
