Deus Ex was never really meant as a multiplayer game.
Alright so I'm starting the Hell's Kitchen mission, the one after the NSF Strip, and I'm wondering, aren't there more sidequests or dialog or something? It seems very linear.

For the most part, the biggest thing you can do is [sp]meeting up with the underground arms dealer and encountering MJ12 earlier than you would normally in the game.[/sp]
I recently bought Deus Ex and have 14 hours into it and I am only in Hong Kong. It's time consuming.
We still got this set in February right? Any specific day? I need to know when to replay the first.
Woah, people still play multiplayer? I tried it out once and found like one guy but it was kinda generic.

Deus Ex was never really meant as a multiplayer game.
I just went in a server called 24/7 Party something, it's not fun when people play seriously but if you're with nice people it's cool.
When I first played MP it was a fucking riotfest. People with abnormally large limbs, hackers spawning millions of crates (Quite LULZY) and wierd maps that didn't feel like any team worked on balancing issues. Best MP game ever.
remember to get your computers skill past 1: at the first level (novice if i can remember) you dont get a hack button. i remember that in my first playthrough i didnt uograde it and it made the game much harder due to me having to find codes for pcs (so i got to a dead end in the secret versa life thing) on my second playthrough i upgraded that skill and it was SO much easier. you just press the hack button when in a computer/atm and you are in
When choosing your skills, take off one rank from the 'Pistols' skills. That way, you will have more points to spend AND the Pistols skill will have the rank added back when you enter the game proper.

Gah I feel so noobish, I got up to the base of the statue at the first level and keep triggering those proximity mines, any way to disable them ?
i want a cool figurine in the CE [editline]22nd November 2010[/editline] and the soundtrack and a poster [editline]22nd November 2010[/editline] and nothing digital I don't give a squat about golden guns or whatever
I hate when games have golden guns, gold is so ugly.
Gah I feel so noobish, I got up to the base of the statue at the first level and keep triggering those proximity mines, any way to disable them ?
Run really really fast to them and grab 'em.
[img_thumb]http://images0.memegenerator.net/ImageMacro/3791169/Hit-people-in-the-legs-from-behind-KNOCKED-OUT.jpg?imageSize=Large&generatorName=JC-Denton[/img_thumb] This was actually the most effective way of getting an instakill/knock out with a melee weapon
I thought that using a melee weapon or shooting in the back of the head was almost always an instakill?

I can't believe I didn't play Deus Ex earlier, this is amazing.
I can't believe I didn't play Deus Ex earlier, this is amazing.
And unfortunately, there are many else out there who haven't. I actually saw a comment about the recent gameplay trailer of Deus Ex 3 (or Human Revolution): "Woah! You can hack computers and change all this stuff? This is incredible!" Obviously he didn't know that the same thing was done so much earlier. Anyway, I hope this game will influece people to play the first game. When I search stuff from YouTube with the words: "Deus Ex" the most viewed videos are some fucking stupid Halo machinima shit. I actually remember watching an actual Deus Ex 1 video at Machinima's channel: "Hey Dis isnt deus ex machinma yoo" My blood boiled. Anyway, I remember having same problems with this game that I had with FF 7. In FF 7, I didn't know how to change weapons until the end of 2nd disc and with Deus Ex I didn't even know how to use those augmentations until the last quarter of the game.

The mainstream games only serve precooked entertainment these days, less thinking more pointless action. I'm not going against a certain game here in particular, but there are dozen ones anybody could think of right now. I really hope they make their chance count with DE:HR, I don't want to heal myself by taking cover, that's what medkits and candy bars are for.

You're not gonna be just sat in cover reading a book while your health comes back, if you're under fire you are going to get slaughtered just sat there.
Deus Ex 1 and 2 are on sale.
I can not recommend Deus Ex enough. Ignore the bad graphics because this fixes them http://kentie.net/article/d3d10drv/ I want to buy the Deus Ex gift pack for everyone but I need to save my money for upcoming game releases :smith: [editline]24th November 2010[/editline] Moved Deus Ex 3 off of my Top 5 because I don't want to win it since I might get the Collector's Edition if it's worth it :v: Unless it doesn't activate on Steam. I'll be torn then.
Am I the only one who hated Paris?
Am I the only one who hated Paris?
Eh, I didn't really hate it but it seemed like a pretty forgettable part of the game.
Eh, I didn't really hate it but it seemed like a pretty forgettable part of the game.
I adored the apartment block you started in - that was incredibly atmospheric. The hub itself was kind of weird though.
I can't fucking wait.
The takedowns remind me of assassinations from Reach. I hope they let us use a chain gun arm, though.
Man I wish I had played this back in 2000 I would have shit myself, too bad I was like 7.
Also this new one has so much stupid stylized action, it's going to be really cheesy.
