Deus Ex 1 Question: I'm trying to escape the [sp]MJ-12 facility after you attempt to escape Hell's Kitchen[/sp], and I can only kill the first guard without the entire place lighting up and killing me, whether the alarm is sounded or not. Any tips?

there's a camera in the room too i think
but then the alarm thing i dunno, when i played i hit the guard with the baton you get and then just killed like everything i saw with the guns from the other guards
also fucking [sp]france[/sp] is hard as shit, i pop out of a well and then the mech lights me up and all of the guards attack me and i don't have anything to take it out

Use the vents. If you've got the cash, a mechanic in the halls can help you out. Make your way to the armoury through the top floor - it's easier than it looks. Use the computer in the control room to set a mech on the guards.
Oh, and use the ladder and vents to get in the upper floor of the armory - then you can take out the guard inside no problem.
I had a GEP gun and a lot of ammo for it at that part
I think it was in the MJ12 base that you can find the EMP spydrone. A lot of people don't like it, but I find it better than hauling around a gep gun or relying on EMP grenades.
I liked the spy drone but it could've been better

The main problem was that it was so ridiculously slow.
I hope Sam Carter makes a Appearance as a General in Human Revolution
Someone should make a mod where [sp]you don't choose to follow Paul and go against your former allies[/sp]
I thought you'd be able to do that in the original game but sadly no.
I wish I could have [sp]saved Paul. From what I read here, is it possible to have Jock survive?[/sp]

Yes, if you [sp]kill the mechanic then they discover the bomb and you get the best scene in video game history[/sp]

We should just make this thread into the Deus Ex Series thread.

[sp]When you're getting ready to take off from some area, forgot which, there's a strange mechanic walking around. If you kill him there's a scene where you and Jock discover the bomb. If he lives nothing interesting really happens.[/sp]
Oh my god JC, A BOMB!

I was so frustrated about Pauls stubbornness to have his last stand that I helped him in this insane battle over and over again until I was sure he would be okay. But at some point during the fight he just disappears. So I wasn't sure if the game actually lets you safe him. But later in the game I reciefed a hologram transmission thingy from him explaining some details on the endgame. Is that because I sucessfully safed him? I can't remember if that would have normally happened.
If you saved him he would be at Tong's

You HAVE to leave through the front door after the fight. Leave through the window, and the game counts him as dead.
If he dies, his body will be in the MJ-12 lab. If he's alive, he'll escape on his own from the lab - then meet up with towards the end of the Hong Kong hub.
I think you also have to find him at the MJ-12 lab
Oh, thanks, now I remember

Be sure to check out http://sarifindustries.com - there's a hacking mini-game on there now!
First one is better because of the exclusive mission. But it seems kind of silly. Also the bomb in the first video is neat, how it is disguised as a little phone thingy.
Guys...

I had the Sarif Industries viral site as an inactive tab when seeing this for the first time. The music that plays from the website really enhances the boxart.

The little hacking game is neat.

I just managed to crack it.
Quite clever.
Oh god, I failed and the sound startled me.
Eidos, I am disappoint. In-game stuff is not so good of course but a fucking double-barrel shotgun?
