The LINEBACKER G-87 MSGL looks like a pimped out P-90 that shoots grenades.
Here's the images from the Sarif Industries hacking mini-game. Don't click if you want to find them yourself.

It's shooting through walls, it's appearing in the latest gameplay footage.
Am I the only person on FP that would prefer the game NOT to require Steamworks (the retail version at least)?

No you are not. I am really hesitating about buying this game just because of this.

You're thinking of a different weapon, the LINEBACKER is a preorder grenade launcher.

My mistake, they are kinda looking the same.
Oh, so if you're not in US, you get the cameo mission no mater where you pre order from.
Geez, would be nice if it was told straight.

EM need to confirm some shit for us. Everyone is asking questions but they just won't answer.
Yesterday lots of us joined hands and got angry at the news that Americans who pre-ordered Deus Ex: Human Revolution at GameStop would be gifted with not just new weapons and items, but an exclusive mission entitled Tong’s Rescue featuring a cameo of a character from Deus Ex. Ooh, we were so angry.
This morning Squeenix has revealed the European pre-order bonuses for Human Revolution, and it’s good news. Anybody who lives in the land of good cheese and bad television will be getting what I think is a much more reasonable deal.
In short, we’ll be getting the Explosive Mission Pack and the GameStop exclusive weapons if we pre-order the game anywhere at all. So, a pre-order will get you the extra mission, the one-shot Automatic Unlocking Device, the M-28 Utility Remote-Detonated Explosive Device (otherwise known as- groan- UR-DED) and the Linebacker grenade launcher.
Now, if Americans instead choose to buy the game from “participating retailers”, they can get the antique-looking Silverback double-barrel shotgun and the Whisperhead sniper rifle. We’ll be getting those bundled in with the expensive Augmented Edition, along with the 40 page art book, making-of DVD, fancy box and a “motion comic adapted from DC’s official series”. I could be wrong here, but I think that means they scanned the comic and linked the panels together with an animation and possibly sound effects, which sounds fun.
Anyone have any angry left? I think I’m spent.
Why do you guys despise steamworks support? It's less intrusive than other DRMs and you'll probably still be able to play it offline since it's a singleplayer game.
So what about Canadian deals? :(

What the hell? Now the American's have to choose between preorders for the the shotgun and sniper or the grenade launcher and mission? Eidos stop screwing stuff up and just make it so everyone can get everything if they preorder the augmented edition from anywhere.
I have a right mind to walk down to their headquarters and give them a piece of my mind.
Not really.

I don't like to be obligated to be connected to the internet to play.
Plus, if I buy a box game, it's to be sure the only one who will play it is me, because I would be the only one who actually have the dvd and be able to install it. Because of steamworks, since I have a brother I have 50% chances he uses my account, very probably to play the said game, preventing me from playing it.

You can play offline on steam. Password your account to stop your brother from using it.
Oh by the way, ingame pictures of the preorder stuff :

Every time I try to play offline he just says I gotta be online to play games.
And if I change my password my brother will just beat me 'till I change it back.

And I'm in love with the double barreled shotgun.
Beat him up if he tries to do it to you

Thanks!
Just about to play Deus Ex for the first time ever after reading this thread, any tips?
Is it possible to get ALL pre-order weps with the normal version?

The first mission is HARD your first time round. But after a while you really get into the rhythm of things and its just bliss from there on.
Is it possible to get ALL pre-order weps with the normal version?
In the UK, yes. In America I think its separate.
The voices in my deus ex game sounds crappy all of a sudden, all other sounds are fine, it's just the voices.

Mine wheezes sometimes, just re-enter the game.
The preorder content in action :
First preorder pack - Grenade Launcher, Remote Explosives, Cameo mission

Second preorder pack - Sniper, double barrel shotgun, more credits and augmentations

Fuck this, I wanted the cameo mission and the double barrel shotgun :(

I had this. I got the DX10 renderer and its fixed now.
Fuck, I like to use gamestop to buy my games, but I want the pack with the shotgun/sniper rifle.
Well now thinking about it, it is Eidos. They did this with Kane and Lynch 2 and then released all the preorder stuff later as DLC.
Finally, this thread gets popular. Also, I'm seriously against in-game items as pre-order stuff and so. I hope there'll be another edition which involves something material.

Well, there is the augmented edition, comes with the soundtrack, a concept art book, a graphic novel, and a kickass cover art. Only ten dollars more, too.

They were on the fence about even having a collectors edition at all so I doubt they would fork out for another edition.
