Ugh, I wish I was gonna have a computer that could run this by the time it's out, but I won't. Inventory managing and such with an XBOX controller just won't feel right.

Same. I hope they just put a demo out or even a benchmark app.
occam's razor; just assume that part of adam's backstory is that he likes antique stuff
would sort of fit in to the whole renaissance thing too now that I think on it
I would guess that it's a reference to johnny mnemonic, but I may be wrong. The guy had an antique double barreled shotgun, and he had to go through all this trouble just to be able to use it (he had to machine his own shells, etc). But wow the current viewmodel looks really crappy. hopefully it's a placeholder.
Its one of those games where you gotta learn to quick save.
I don't do quick save, I want auto-saves.... Auto-saves that save every 3 minutes.

Bind the quick save key to numpad + so during the game you just have to lift your hand from the mouse and press + with your thumb

Canyourunit.com is a pretty good site to see if your computer can handle x or y game.

I've had shit tell me I can run on high before but In-game I have to optimize a lot. Or sometimes it says I can't handle a game at all. STALKER: Call Of Pripyat benchmark is what made me pre-order it straight up.
No better way to know if you can run it than something like a benchmark or demo.

GAME's policy on pre-orders are that they don't charge you extra money for a game if the price goes up after you pre-ordered it. Meaning that if you order this game right now, you will (most likely) not get charged extra.
Actual quote:
Note: The price quoted for a preorder title is the anticipated retail selling price at the time of release. Should the price be reduced you will be charged the lower price at the time of your order being dispatched. Should the price increase - you will not pay any more! Money is taken just prior to release.
Go!
(Remember that you can always cancel your pre-order should they raise the price.)
Update
You may have noticed that the price of Deus Ex: Human Revolution Augmented Edition on the GAME site has gone up to 44.99 GBP
Please do not worry, your credit / debit card will be charged with the lower amount as originally agreed when you placed the order. This is merely one of the benefits of the GAME 1st To Play Preorder Service!
Why only UKnians? I cancelled my normal preorder for that, it's cheaper :buddy:
Preordered from Finland. Shipping is only 2,95£ so it's quite good price. It'd probably be around 70-80€ to order the Augmented Edition from a finnish store.

We haven't had confirmation on that.
Yep, steamworks. Sadly.
Sadly? I cherish it! I can buy the boxset and have it on Steam at the same time.
I never really got into the original Deus Ex, It was cool I just never really "got it".
However this looks so damn cool I just had to preorder. I'll make sure to play the original some more to unearth the game everyone seems to love so much.
Cheers for the heads up on the augmented edition especially as its only £2 more than the cheapest I have seen the normal edition
Holy shit. I was asking for this game as my christmas present even though it's released in March 2011, and my mom suddenly decides to buy me 2 more games (plus the augmented edition preordered at Game) for christmas.
Pre-ordered aug edition, damn good deal. March seems so far away even now.
Christ, if Duke Nukem comes out around the same time I'll never play anything else for the rest of the year.

I'm getting that feeling too.
I really don't get why you guys love the augmented edition. Unless you love it because it has the same price. The in-game items seriously aren't the best Eidos could come up with.

If it's the same price, then it's free content, and free content is always welcome.

I want it just for the art book and soundtrack. At the same price, I have no problem with that and I don't care about the in-game items.
It's even better for US buyers, because it is the same cost as buying the normal version on the Xbox or PS3.
Art book and full soundtrack is why I bought it. I doubt Tong's Rescue will be an excellent or long mission, and everything else is more or less "meh".
I just got it because I may as well for the same price as the normal version.
The 1900x1200 wallpaper doesn't load for me :colbert:
