Its not really a sequel, Its just in the same universe; Like how you can play any ratchet and clank game by its self and not be confused. (for the most part). That is what I think this one will be like.
Thats exactly why they did it as a prequel. That and Invisible War made it hard to do a sequel.
How do you get hers?
Check Anna/Gunther's email and Manderley's email after the plane incident. Click on "flatlander" in one and "woman" in the other.
They should have concept art of Gunter Herman and Anna Navarra with the good graphics/models.
Hm, so is it coming out in March? I've heard stuff of March 8th. . . . If it's coming out then, I'll have trouble playing it, DA2 and whatever'twas that was supposedly coming out on March 8th...
Delayed until fiscal year 2011, which begins in April, as-of yesterday.
With weak sales performance of console game titles that have been newly released during the current fiscal year as well as harsh market feedback regarding a key title, the Group recognizes the reinforcement of development capability in our Digital Entertainment segment as our most critical managerial issue. We therefore have decided to spend additional time to further polish our upcoming game, DEUS EX: HUMAN REVOLUTION, resulting in a shift in release timing from our prior plan of the current fiscal year to next fiscal year.
Seriously guys, take all the time you need. Just don't fuck this one up.
Though I was waiting for it, I'm okay with this.
Just don't fuck this one up.
Shame but hopefully will lead to a better game, not so sure what my early next year games will be now
This better not fuck up my pre-order. I'm questioning what is going on over there and if they're changing the game a bit too much.
Makes me worry. I was going to pre-order this and they're talking about how it wasn't good enough.
is cool man, take your time.
Makes me worry. I was going to pre-order this and they're talking about how it wasn't good enough.
They should know delaying like this will worry the crap out of people. I don't know whats going on with their marketing, its quite terrible.
They should know delaying like this will worry the crap out of people. I don't know whats going on with their marketing, its quite terrible.
I like their honesty, but they worded it horribly.
I think this game will end up being incredible from what I hear of the story and gameplay. Only thing that can realistically fuck this up for me? Game length. Hopefully the game isn't something like Metro 2033 where you can easily beat it in 8-10 hours or god forbid CoD where it's over in 5. If I can clock 20 or so hours into the first run through I think that would be a nice sweet spot.
Makes me worry. Nevermind, I'm just a tad bit annoyed by this fact, at least they can use the time to improve the game, I support them nonetheless.
Well, let's hope they don't try to make more money by making it "more mainstream". Apparently Squeenix didn't make good sells so far, so Deus Ex has to save the day or something together with another FF title - from what I've gathered anyway.
I wish the character style would have sticked to the long coats and stuff more than this ghost in shell techno stuff with hidden blades. I would have rather had stealth execution moves for all the melee weapons.

To my memory they had most of the time real life weaponry: http://www.imfdb.org/index.php/Ghost_in_the_Shell_Stand_Alone_Complex#Handguns Only the 3-barreled-minigun at the bottom of the page is somewhat close to the one from the trailers. Hey, even FEAR:EP had a 3b-minigun.
I talked about the hidden blades invidually. My point being I would have rather had execution attacks with crowbar/sword/knife/etc. Also it has no hidden blades but this:

I also hate quicktime events where you press a button, only to watch a kill move in 3rd person, being played like a small cutscene. This game is not RE5. Combining weapons would be great, prodding an enemy so he can't walk away and then silently behead him with a dragon's tooth nano katana. Feels a bit weird that Adam has better weapons than JC, whatever.

Wow, 20-30 hours sounds like a lot. Let's hope that's not because they multiplied everything by 5 because of replay value meaning you have to play in 5 different styles to truly see everything of the game. Either that or collecting stupid little things scattered throughout the maps, people love to stretch playtime with that. Tho judging from the trailers Deus Ex isn't the kind of game that would include the latter. I'm gonna be optimistic and say it's really that damn good and Eidos and/or Squeenix don't want to just milk a franchise like they love to do.
I wish the character style would have sticked to the long coats and stuff more than this ghost in shell techno stuff with hidden blades. Way more badass than cheesy for me tho, so I wish they could have left them. Maybe wanted to reduce clipping during acrobatics.
Wow, 20-30 hours sounds like a lot.
:smith: What have the games come to. . . . I miss the "good old days". . . .
:smith: What have the games come to. . . . I miss the "good old days". . . .
Bare in mind there are many different ways to go at it, and the 7 different endings. So add some more time on for replay value.
Yeah, I know, but when people consider 20-30 hours "a lot". . . .
Remember than the estimated hours to spend on a video game are only counting the MQ, going straight ahead, and playing only once.
Remember than the estimated hours to spend on a video game are only counting the MQ, going straight ahead, and playing only once.
Actually, for ME2, they counted that as doing everything in the game - I know this because they said it would take about 20 - 30 hours, and in my first run through (done on the 2nd highest difficulty level), it took my 26.5 hours. So very often these days, game estimates are actually how long it would take you to access everything, sometimes at a difficulty level above average.
Yeah, I know, but when people consider 20-30 hours "a lot". . . .
It is, for a first person action/adventure game. I can't recall many first person or even third person action adventure games that went on longer than 20-30 hours. Sure it's not a lot compaired to RPG's and such, but it isn't supposed to be...
Eh, playtime is a relative thing. If you're really into a game it's always too short anyway and I wouldn't like the studio to bloat a perfectly good story with shit just so they can increase their number count on the box. Take into mind it's exactly this set of mind that made the whole studio go "!!?!??!?!?!?!" when confronted with the task to created loads of content that some players would never see. As I see it, best case scenario, I have a fun and tense time stealthing through the game in the first run, then I read about people doing completely different things and using shortcuts I never considered and I dive in again and explore the world some more which would already doubles the hour count if you're confronted with new challenges where your old strategies don't work anymore. I mean you've got to play very differently when you're first blasting everything in your way and then you talk everybody into telling you all their secrets. Worst case scenario, what you do only has very little effect and you're still closely following the red string. But hey, I didn't *love* Thief 3, but I still played through it a couple of times although you didn't have as many different options to play through it. Even if it's a worst case scenario, we're living in an age where DLC and add-ons aren't rare anymore. If Deus Ex 3 is well-received, they might throw in some side-quests - and as we know it's all the side-quests that make certain RPGs have a ridiculous hour count. I never played till the end of Morrowind because I still found hidden temples and shit after hundreds of hours and for some reason it intrigued me more to sell the 300 wooden spoons I found in the last cave and then explore the next one than slay the remote distant black devil thingie. TEAL DEER - quality over quantity - high replay value if every kind of approaching a problem is really as different as they say - DLC and extra sidequests after the release > bloating a perfectly fine story just to raise the hour count
