just a hint, some retail stores have the game entitled for February.
Too bad that date is false as it was pushed back
Maybe a link with JC/Paul Denton ? You know, they are clones, so maybe she's the mother of the guy who was used as a clone base ?
Or maybe you'll learn she staged her own kidnapping so you would accept being augmented and be used as a field test subject, without them expecting you to survive to your missions.
Adam Jensen is JC's father, calling itwait wouldn't that mean that adam get's killed at the end of HR? :ohdear:
Sorry if this is late, but did anyone else notice this:
In the latest cinematic trailer, when showing Jensen's girlfriend being taken, Jensen says:
"She was lost to me."
This may suggest that the woman will play a large role in the story. Perhaps Jensen thinks she is dead, but she was actually kidnapped, and maybe augmented, and turned against Jensen? It would be an interesting possibility. Whatever happens, I sincerely doubt it will be the typical 'damsel in distress' scenario. Any thoughts?
I think it'll turn out somebody (forgot the name) specifically attacked him and stole his wifey/girlfriend whatever so that he'd get augmented and work for them, while he thinks they're the good guys that equipped him with stuff so he has the chance to seek revenge.
Or better yet, the setup included a girlfriend with fake affection towards him specifically so he'd have a more emotionally driven revenge, which would equal to more motivation and a higher chance of him accepting the "trade" of fancy augments for doing jobs as means of repayment.
Conspiracies everywhere. :v:

That was kinda vague.
1. yay it's great
2. yay it's pretty
3. yay it's finished (almost)

JJB mentioned in one of those interviews they were done right? so why did they delay it further?

She is the reason he's in this whole mess. She's one of the top researchers for Sarif and Adam's ex girlfriend, also David Sarif's niece. She's the catalyst who will unwittingly drag you into something bigger.

Square Enix decided it needed more time for some reason. Mainly to line up profits but a little more polish can't hurt.

I'm assuming Jensen will die somehow.
I don't think Adam will die. Square Enix said something about making Human Revolution into some 10 year thing, so either that means direct sequels, DLC or something similar.

Oh never mind they just meant Deus Ex in general. Hopefully they don't run the series into the ground like they did with Final Fantasy.

Damn, sexy picture.
I sure do hope they release more DX games, as long as they don't release one every year.

Do you mean 10 year thing as in the game takes place over a course of 10 years? If that's the case, I'm not crazy when I think Adam looks older at the end of the trailers, and younger in the beginning of them.
I hope that there will be some moments like this:

Gives some food for thought.
Jensen will either die or move out of the picture, recluse from normal life etc. I'm sure I read somewhere that a terrorist group in DX was mentioned to have been run by a guy called Adam but don't take my word for it yet.

No doubt. If Adam lives, than he is most definitely alive during the events of DX1 and 2.

As in, they want to make Deus Ex games for the next 10 years

Let's hope it's not one per year.

I think they're going to expand into other mediums, already got the comics and book coming.
I think they're going to expand into other mediums, already got the comics and book coming.
A DX expanded universe would be nice if they did it right
From what I've heard, a really big project only makes real profit if you build up a whole franchise around it and keep it alive with sequels.
Assassin's Creed would be one example with how they stretch out the Ezio story. A more obvious example would be BioShock where the first game had a well rounded end and lots of people felt BioShock 2 felt too similar to BioShock and was sorta unnecessary.
Other examples of that are of course how every big title branches into other types of media. I mean, even [Prototype] had a comic book series.
So if they let Jenson die now and want to make some sort of sequel, they will have to come up with a new character for the next game and they'll have to characterize them first.
That can be difficult when a big part of the game's emotional intensity revolves around the character and the narrative is character-driven. No idea how much that is the case in DX3, but we already had a fair amount of backstory about Jenson and the trailer was directed from his perspective, although the rest of the character seems to be a flat anti-hero so far. We'll have to see what's ingame for us.
If it's not that heavily characterized, it's less of a problem to swap characters of course. Compared to Ezio, Altair lacked a lot of believable character for example (different case with Desmond). The BioShock main characters were almost faceless, character-void mutes. You see what I mean.
They might continue the story through different characters that we see in-game. The book already has two new protagonists and that might give us an indication of what to expect.
No idea if the two will be in Human Revolution or even mentioned but since the writer for the book is on the team we could be seeing either expansions or sequels. I just don't want to be stuck playing Adam for the sequels, he seems an interesting character but the DX universe was never supposed to be about one single character.
Anyone know why my cloak augmentation doesn't work? The enemy sees me all the time. Same goes with the stealth suit.

Are you sure you're not running around too close to them? They can still hear you.
Yeah I know, but I'm like 100 feet away from this robot and it still detect me.

There's a cloak for bots/cameras and a cloak for humans.
Should have picked the other cloak. Humans are docile in DX so its pretty easy to avoid them.

Standing right in front of people while they say stuff like "I hear this guy can just disappear when he wants to" is always worth it though
I just discovered this game. So is this a game to look forward to and expect much?
It certainly seems so, yes. I don't mind them simplifying some of the things from deus ex. I know starting it now I'm a little intimidated by the starting skill select screen. Perhaps they're not simplified, but just better implemented, so you know more about what you're doing when you have a chance to do it, which is what I would enjoy.
Any idea how "free" the game is. I mean the gameplay, is it like you get told what to do and you do it, or can you do things in the order you want, visit places where you want in order...?

Also OP says the time estimated of release is April, but Steam says January, which one is true?
