My list for this year is pretty solid so far.
As spekter said, we've got L.A. Noir, which I've been excited about.
Then we've got Duke Nukem Forever, which really needs no explanation.
Of course, then we've got Human Revolution which easily tops the rest of the list.
Been wanting it for years, and pretty much nothing's going to dissuade me from getting it.
A demo would be nice, though.
2011 looks to be a fucking great year for gaming, PC in particular:

Oh, how I hope Xenonauts will be out this year.

You just reminded me that I should save up for guild wars 2 as well. Augh I am going to be so broke!
I would rather try a game before buying it blind. I'll most likely be buying DX:HR of course, but in many cases I've completely skipped a game because I don't want to risk wasting money on something that is shit.
No, reviews are not credible.
Developers would find that piracy would drop a great deal if they would release a sufficient demo for their games, no need to try before buying. I'm not defending piracy.

I don't know about Steam but I'm pretty sure Cursed Crusades is coming to PC. Otherwise useful chart

Pretty good choice, although the problem with VersaLife was it was almost impossible to do it non-lethally compared to the rest of the game
Yeah I thought it was a pretty cool choice. I loved walking in there and everyone just thinks I'm a visitor.
I can't wait to try this.

It's possible to do it without you personnaly killing anyone, doesn't mean that people won't die though.

I loved just after I uploaded the Dargon's Tooth schematics to Tong, then everyone in the building starts gunning for you. I was like
"It's fucking on now chaps"
Activated my speed and melee augs and went charging out of the building slicing everything in my path. I ran past the augmented troops in the lobby and shut the elevator door just before their rockets hit.
:iia:
I found it weird that they let me keep the Dragon's Tooth. I was prepared to kill everyone to keep it
Even if they didn't let you keep the Dragon's Tooth, the Men In Black (and Women) don't explode when tasered, which means you could get a few swords off the ones patrolling the lab.
Tasering them is very profitable overall, because they tend to have cool/advanced items. (For example, if you manage to taser one of the MIBs in the 'Ton, you can get an assault shotgun a bit earlier)
The dragon's tooth made the whole game a cakewalk. I'm going to leave it at Tong's on my next playthrough.

I had Shifter installed on my last playthrough, so I left the Tooth and kept using the Toxic Blade. It's even more cheaty to use it, as it "freezes" enemies (like the prod does) while making KO damage. Stab someone once and he's yours.
I love the Lo Bruto in Shifter. Always refrain from using any weapon mods till I acquire it, by then my inventory is half-full of only mods. Then I upgrade it full of fuck and beat the game with it.
I've never played Shifter; what exactly does it alter?
Pretty good choice, although the problem with VersaLife was it was almost impossible to do it non-lethally compared to the rest of the game
Tranq darts, gas nades, charger prods... very possible.

The game makes more sense, basically. You can throw combat knives, there are unique weapons, fuck I don't even remember everything since I've played Deux Ex vanilla only once, once I started Shifter I never looked back.

Well here we go:
* "Replacable" Augmentations: Find a new aug you just have to have? Now you can replace an existing augmentation with one found in an augmentation canister. Just use a medical bot to install it, like you would with any other augmentation.
* New/Better Augmentations: In unmodified Deus Ex, many of the augmentations were of limited to no value, or only useful in very specific situations. Shifter attempts to rectify this by modifying how some of these augs work (like Microfibral Muscle) or by replacing them completely with new, superior augs. (like Electrostatic Discharge)
* Alt-Fire: Long since overdue, most weapons in Deus Ex now have alt-fire modes, accessed through a separate alt-fire key. Now you can unleash a napalm bomb from your Flamethrower, or throw those ever-so-common Combat Knives at unsuspecting NPCs. For weapons without alt-fire, the button doubles as a scope toggle key.
* Unique Weapons: Scattered throughout the game in key locations are new and ever-so-deadly weapons. These weapons are unique, and only appear in that one location, nowhere else, to balance their power.
* Random NPC Inventory: In a realistic setting one would never be able to say for certain what a random passerby on the street might have on them. Shifter incorporates this into Deus Ex, giving NPCs hostile, neutral and friendly alike randomly determined items. Perhaps nothing more than some extra credits, perhaps some food or cigarettes, but maybe even a contraband substance or weapon.
* Additional Skill System: It seems somewhat unfair that a player is not rewarded with skill points for some acts of true skill, feats like defeating a room full of MiBs, or perhaps walking within just a few feet of them without being detected. Either way, combat or stealth, players are now rewarded for their feats of skill.
* Deadlier NPCs: Many of the additions made to Shifter would seem to shift the balance of power almost exclusively to the player. To counteract this, NPC AI and skill has been upgraded. Enemies shoot better, aim quicker, and dodge faster. Never underestimate a Shifter NPC. (Well, when I finish all the AI tweaks, anyway. :P)

reinstall
Tranq darts, gas nades, charger prods... very possible.
I just used the baton instead of the charger prods since in most cases it knocked them out in one hit and has unlimited ammo

If you have Shifter mod then you can [sp]get a stronger baton by doing the Liberty Island level non-lethally. Then you find it in your apartment in Hell's Kitchen[/sp]
Spoiler tagged if you want to find a secret weapon on your own
Might have to try it out next time I do a run through of Deus Ex, only beat it once. I also want to try out the Nameless Mod eventually though.

Makes sense I guess. You wouldn't be backtracking across 2 continents just to redo some scrappy sidequest when there is a gigantic conspiracy going on.

Should also point out, it restores some of the cut content in the game; for one thing it finishes off the Ford Schick storyline that is glitched in the main game.

Its pretty much a no-brainer decision to do it like the first game. Kinda saw it coming but its always good to have actual confirmation. I'm eager to hear about the hands-on experiences now but no idea when articles will be released.
does anyone have a mod that removes the scope bounce with sniper rifles in shifter?
it's fucking ridiculous

I'm sure they said 0451 is in DX:HR. Not sure where it would be, but obvious to assume its the first keypad.
