I find DX2 to be a good game. I am probably the only one though.
From what I hear it's a good game but not when compared to the original.
Ho lee shit
From what I hear it's a good game but not when compared to the original.
That's what I've been hearing to but I just wanted to see what people here thought.
I'm actually even thinking of buying invisible wars just to get more Deus Ex story even though it doesn't have the same gameplay as the original, is that a bad idea?
I'd highly recommend John-P's Unified Texture Pack if you do. Invisible War suffers from horribly compressed textures.
DX2 continues on the story. Its not bad but they sacrificed a lot of gameplay which feels like a big let down.
I just beat the original Deus Ex and now I'm super excited for Human Revolution. I'm actually even thinking of buying invisible wars just to get more Deus Ex story even though it doesn't have the same gameplay as the original, is that a bad idea?
A lot of people say it's ok, but I don't even consider it a Deus Ex game.
A lot of people say it's ok, but I don't even consider it a Deus Ex game.
It attempted to retain some of the concepts of the first game but really they just tried taking it in a new direction all together and it didn't pan out very well. Story was kind of interesting at least. Somehow I think DX:HR might link to DX2 as well as DX1.
Would it be better if I just watched a playthrough of it?

I am also wondering about playing through Invisible War kind of. Is its like a KOTOR ----> KOTOR II scenario where the first game was amazing but then the second was horribly disfigured and ruined and totally broken?
Would it be better if I just watched a playthrough of it?
You aren't missing much since the gameplay isn't that good but like I said, the story is kinda interesting. New image: Its just like the office scene from Blade Runner which happens to be my favourite scene in the entire movie. Judging by the huge ruff it must be Eliza which means she isn't a robot.
Put it this way, playing Deus Ex: Invisible War before Deus Ex, I found IW a very fun game that was quite interesting in how it did stuff, with lots of non-linearity. It's a good game, but it pales in comparison to the original.
Yeah, I thought I may have been the only person who enjoyed IW for what it was. My actual largest complaint though is just the universal ammo system. Honestly, Its kindof... Retarded.

The first game ran perfectly for me, but I can't even play invisible war. It gets to the title screen and menus properly, and even played the opening cutscene right, but the moment it enters the game engine it black screen freezes.
If I were you I'd buy it, it is a fun game. I am pretty much the sort of person that disagrees with the main group, like how I enjoyed SW Republic Heroes and nobody else did.
?
My eyes have always passed over this thread, I thought it was a normal Deus Ex thread. Never knew this was being released.
I was playing the first one yesterday fine, and today it just refuses to start. Black screen then nothin.
Flooding seems to be a pretty big problem (look at northern Europe, specifically Finland)

It's weird to look at something... like a maelstrom: [editline]7th February 2011[/editline] Something like that was in one of the trailers, strangely ship where docking next to a ring supporting it.
Its either going to be a geo thermal plant or Panchea(greek myth city). maybe both
Very minor spoilers relating to a discussion earlier: [sp]Playtest reveals that 0451 is the first code you input in the game; it's a elevator code in the opening section[/sp] Human Revolution Preview
Didn't Bioshock use the same code for a closet early in the game?
Its a recurring thing for cyberpunk games (personally don't think bioshock should relate itself to system shock but w/e). Also its hardly a spoiler, its the one thing we should all expect.

Very atmospheric levels, can't wait to see more videos.
DX:HR story influences http://www.computerandvideogames.com/287482/news/deus-ex-story-influenced-by-sly-cooper-the-darkness/ I'm hoping the comic sheds more light on how they're going about dealing with the story and themes.
I wish I would have ordered them when I could :smith: [editline]7th February 2011[/editline] Oh wait, other sites than tfaw have it

I might end up getting it on PS3 :smith: Can't risk buying it and having it run poorly.
