I've been playing the shit out of DX1 for the first time and I'm loving it. It seems like a long game. I just got done with Hong Kong and united the triads. How much of the game do I have left?

It took me about 30 hours to complete the game, playing stealthily and taking my time to explore.

You're about 1/3 through it.
I've been playing pretty stealthily up until I found the Dragon Tooth. That weapon is a bit ridiculous.

Yeah I sometimes throw the sword away after Hong Kong. Makes the game too easy if you have the melee aug and low-tech weapon skills.
Going back through DX1 on realistic I made it through the first level without killing anyone but in castle clinton Anna navarre and the 2 UNATCO guys opened fire and killed all the terrorists (I did not fire a shot) and somehow when I get back to base they're like "oh my god jc you cleaned the place out" FFS I didn't even kill a single person on that mission. Even on the subway hostage situation I used tranq darts to put all the NSF to sleep.
Though when I got to the hotel area afterwards I decided to change my mind and use lethal means.. I killed the 3 NSF in the hotel and when I got to the warehouse I threw a LAM at the generator which basically blew up everything on the first floor of the building (and 2 NSF lost their lives in this incident.) Sadly when I reached the rooftop I was shot and my legs were too damaged to carry on so I had to literally crawl into the helicopter and crawl to the UNATCO medical area to get healed....lol
Anyway, that's what really made this game great was all the different ways you could play it (as well as the dialogue changes based on your actions). I really hope the new deus ex focuses on open-ended gameplay.
and yet you, just another cock sucking faggot posting on the internet knows the truth too? FUCK I THOUGHT ONLY I KNEW THE INTERNET TRUTH!
see where this gets you?
I'm not claiming I do know what's up, I'm just speculating on what's been shown. Don't flame me bro.
Just buy the game and enjoy it, who gives a shit about object highlighting.
The object highlighting looks really bad, and small details when piled up can make or break a game
Saw this on /v/ just now:

Really shines a light on things. :smug:
I'm as annoyed by the highlighting and 3rd person as anyone but people judging the game by the first level which is essentially a tutorial (YES, SEPARATE TUTORIAL LEVELS DON'T EXIST ANYMORE DIPSHITS [AND IT HAS TOOLTIPS AND "HOLD SELECT FOR STEALTH TUTORIAL"]) is pretty stupid
Judging Deus Ex 1 or Half-Life by the tutorial wouldn't be very fair but that's what you're essentially doing here
Riutet I've literally only seen negative things from you both in the Dead Island thread and now in here.
The tutorial level REQUIRES these hand holding techniques (by that I mean blatant prop placement), its just common logic. Also bare in mind EM have done demonstrations in the past and have said that those sections would be nothing like that in the final version.
You're throwing in a ton of assumptions when we've barely scratched the surface, you were doing this in the Dead Island thread. You're expecting people to listen to your opinions yet you're coming across as a troll because you quite clearly don't seem to like this game.
Me personally? I don't care about any of the third person crap nor will I judge this game purely from a tutorial level. They have a lot of these systems in place for balance however highlighting will get annoying if they don't lower the range or allow a toggle for it, its too invasive.

Even if there isn't an option, I'm sure someone will dig around in the files and find a way to lower it or completely disable it.
I haven't even played the other two Deus Ex games, so I can't even be a picky bitch about HR. If it's good, it's good I say. :buddy:
Thankfully the game's been delayed to August, as well, so they have plenty of time to fix the niggling little problems that have been spotted.
Dugas confirmed the constant highlight on the ladders was a bug. It should disappear when you use it.
I just hope there are plenty of options to choose from regarding difficulty, visuals and controls.
Any PC game should let you disable things like highlightning, autoaim (this game doesn't actually have it aside from that perk but yeah), mouse acceleration, customizing the controls fully using any key on the board, etc etc
Oh man Riutet your opinion is so right I can't believe any of these people are arguing I mean you convinced me I'm not getting it anymore
:colbert:
I can see them including a option for disabling highlighting if the community requests it enough. Even DICE added that option to Mirrors Edge, which was considerably more linear than this will be.

They have until August; I'd be surprised if they didn't respond to the community by adding a toggle or slider for highlighting.
And it shouldn't be too hard to mod it out anyway.
I bet within 3 days of release there will be a mod that removes the health-regen, object highlighting and whatever else "casual" they've put in.
Don't worry guys Riutet just shits up every thread he goes into by telling everybody that the game is going to suck and that everyone is overhyping it.
Man, I didn't have much hopes for this in the first place but that video just put the nail in the coffin for it for me.
Consolized and simplified to the point of irrelevance.

Lol yeah
Because a section of gameplay from a tutorial level is really something to base a claim like that off of. Considering the tutorial for DX1 was almost exactly like that video (except a lot more open on a surface level which is why a lot of people hated the first level of DX1).
And don't say "BUT WHY NOT USE GAMEPLAY FROM A NON-TUTORIAL LEVEL?!" because:
1. Tutorials are easy to follow in short gameplay video form
2. It doesn't spoil anything
3. Over complicating video content for a game you are trying to explain to an open audience doesn't work
The only thing I don't like what I see so far about this game personally is the fact that everything is highlighted all the time. I'd much prefer DX1's method of subtly targeting things you can interact with when you hover your view over them.

It's a good demonstration of the "base" gameplay before things start getting better. I saw very little wrong with that video, and I was personally really made quite happy by the shooting elements of that video and most of the other stuff in that video.
I honestly don't get the nay sayers around here.
They gameplay video didn't look too bad. Wish they would show more but that's just nit picking. The only thing that bothers me is the highlighting but otherwise it all looks good. Even the third person cover looks good.
There wasn't really anything wrong but said highlighting. But that will hopefully be something you can turn of.
Hey guys I play deus ex for the combat and not the Storyline and how the characters evolve around it XD
Backside of shirts which were given to fans at PAX (not mine)

Well I don't know about you, but I quite enjoyed the video, I know I'm excited. Although I still have yet to play DX1... Still I am personally not put off by the glowing outlines, yes it does make the game even more so easier, but you know its to make it idiot proof.
You can't turn outlines off.
Oh, thought I read you could somewhere. Why's everyone so bothered about them?
Seem to be intrusive but I guess you would have to play it to truly get a feel for it.
