I agree, I always thought the character Gunther Hermann looked googly eyed and that never ruined his image.
It's probably the eye thing, but I've always thought that gunther hermann and batou from ghost in the shell looked similar.
Totally is man, Oblivion is only subjectively alright, objectively it's a steaming turd.
And you still believe your opinion is fact and anyone else's is just an opinion
And you still believe your opinion is fact and anyone else's is just an opinion
It ain't even my opinion bro, it's the truth. [editline]24th March 2011[/editline] This is actually a pretty good one. :D
There is no red jelly so no. If you've watched all of the gameplay and previews you'll see/rad that there is a slight blur and some red saturation in the corners. But no red jelly
It ain't even my opinion bro, it's the truth.
It's an opinion. And you continue to bash the game. Quit thinking you know it all when you don't. You have the mentality of a teenager.
Riutet how bout you thread shit some more? I am sure every one logs in on facepunch to listen to your opinions! Do you know people have been working on this game for 3 years? what the fuck have you been doing for those three years bud? rubbing your nipples while you take a dump on some ones work? Go back to /V and feel like you have some freinds, Cause you got none here.
I have a feeling this game will probably be very VERY consolised
Once again, Riutet shitting up threads. Who would have guessed? [editline]24th March 2011[/editline]
I do not see why you are bummed out though, that is, if you are of the opinion that I am incorrect in my assertions about Dead Island and Deus Ex, then you should still remain hyped. If you are bummed out because you believe I may in fact be correct in my assertions, then why are you bummed out for having your knowledge of potential outcomes expanded?
You be given me the negative vibes, man.
guys stop flaming riutet just because you disagree with him doesn't make him a troll
new trailer my friends, however I think it's older footage then the walktrough with MarydeMarle. The blood particles in the takedowns look like the one in the e3 demo, not the fountain-spraying awesome blood we see in the adam jensen profile trailer and in the Mary DeMarle walktrough. However, enjoy. YOU CAN THROW TURRETS AT ENEMIES NOW. http://gamevideos.1up.com/video/id/33187
Every time I start questioning Human Revolution they release a new, amazing trailer. Damn you Square Enix.
guys stop flaming riutet just because you disagree with him doesn't make him a troll
No, but judging an entire game from a small tutorial level we haven't been able to play for ourselves yet does make him an idiot.
No, but judging an entire game from a small tutorial level we haven't been able to play for ourselves yet does make him an idiot.
I suppose I tend to always defend the devil's advocate in any argument, I don't really know why

As in, I don't want those to be my only 3 choices throughout the game. Otherwise, the gameplay looks brilliant, glad I preordered it.

I mean, compared to other games of this era, sure, but it's not exactly open. [editline]24th March 2011[/editline] On a side note, I'd love to see them remake DX1 on this new engine. Could be amazing.
of all things why are people complaining about fucking item highlighting jesus christ
I'm more concerned about that rifle at 1:36 in the new trailer. Long range non-lethal KO in one shot? I hope the ammo is really limited to compensate.
I'm more concerned about that rifle at 1:36 in the new trailer. Long range non-lethal KO in one shot? I hope the ammo is really limited to compensate.
That bothered me too. It wasn't even vital, it was like a lethal crotch shot or something.
of all things why are people complaining about fucking item highlighting jesus christ
Glad I'm not the only one who doesn't mind the highlighting.

It's refreshing to hear a theme that isn't generic orchistrated score, but something that actually is unique and compliments the setting, style and themes of the game. Gives it a deeper personality.

And we all haven't played the goddamn game, so it's too fucking early I say to judge the game by a piece of a video. I understand you have a different opinion and you may not be a troll but please don't shove it down our throats just to ruin the fun for us as well as the guys from the different threads.
New trailer sort of: http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/03/25/deus-ex-human-revolution-trailer-kills-all-guards/ Not sure what they're doing, the way it's been made makes it look like a low budget game trying to disguise the fact that it's a low budget game with poor animations. But from what we've seen of the game previously the movement and shooting doesn't look anywhere near as bad as in that trailer. Wonder if they outsourced the trailer.

The footage, as usual, was taken on a console. Doesn't it look obvious they've recorded it on them because of "the movement and shooting". The trailer clearly gave me the Deus Ex 1 feeling that I was looking for in the previous trailers.

You've seen a trailer for a low budget shooter haven't you? I don't know how to best describe it, it's like most of the action is animated separately not using animations from the game, so what you end up with is something that looks way different to how the game actually looks and plays, for better or worse. The bit with the sentry though, was like watching a cutscene from Tomb Raider 1. :v: They should have just kept that bit in first person. The way the guys died from the sentry looked a bit silly.
Course there are objective facts sir. Here's one, so Oblivion is an RPG right? Action-RPG more like but allow me to continue. So stats are supposed to be relevant correct? I mean why wouldn't they be if they were in the game? But because of the exploitable/grinding/uninvolved combat system and the poor AI, they're irrelevant. This is what we call a failure of a game mechanic, it was a desire that these stats would have relevance, would matter, but they do not. That's a failure, whether the result is enjoyable or not isn't in question, whether the system they have implemented works is what is in question, and it does not, and it is a huge part of the game. So that's a mark down. That's objective, that can't be denied. And then you do the same for every other feature in Oblivion. Then you compare it to previous games that have done similar things, but well, and decide on how the game fares objectively. When it comes to whether the game itself is actually enjoyable, well that's a different matter, even mechanics that don't work can be enjoyable to the right type of person, so on that matter you can only really say whether or not you enjoyed yourself in whatever capacity you can think of when you really get down to it. I'm sure Oblivion is a good game to some people. I am not one of those people though. I'm sure people who are into scat probably wouldn't see eye to eye with me either, to each his own and I won't bother them unless we happen to be in a general discussion forum thread discussing the nature of the fetish, at which point I will state my qualms and try to argue my view.
cry about it
I wish they would stop shoving sections in where they did animations purposely for the trailer like when its showing him carrying the turret.
I guess shots like that are to show the less-aware people that you can pick up turrets and walk around with them. Purely because a 1st-person shot of a transparent turret wouldn't mean much to someone who doesn't know that much about this game.
cry about it
Typical "I can't argue against what he just said so I'll attack his character that'll get me winners." In fact I've had to re-iterate this multiple times in this very thread because people just keep jumping to conclusions about what I'm saying.
