I hope that they remembered to put in an FoV slider for the PC version.
Really pisses me off when I have to go through a well hidden .ini file just to get my 120 horizontal, even worse when you get in game and find out nothing has changed.
By the way that first screenshot is the first daytime footage we've seen. I had no idea there even would be daytime. Interesting.
I hope there's an option to retract your sunglasses, wouldn't feel right wearing them during the day.

No it's just my games look better at 110-120, 75-90 makes it feel like I'm looking at the world with flat eyes.
FOV of 110-120 is way too high, almost feels like you have eyes on the sides of your head. Like a frog.
No 90 is perfect for me.

I once put HL2 to 120, I had to stop because of motion sickness.

Natural human FOV is close to 180 but obviously games can't do that due to peripheral vision etc
Highest I'd use for gaming would be 100 unless I have multiple screens
Also the daytime shots look a hundred times better than the nighttime ones
Just took these now, not in the exact same spot because Crysis 2 uses shitty checkpointing, but except for being a bit behind in one shot, it demonstrates the differences between 115-120 horizontal and 90 horizontal quite well.

Maybe to you, but I enjoy my 120 and have been for a very long time until recently as locked down fields of view have started becoming more common.
My point is 120 looks great and is actually very playable, and that it doesn't look as fish-eye viewed as most people make it out to be. Looks as good as 90.

I enjoy 120 degree fov in games where enhanced situational awareness is useful. Other than that I tend to keep it at default.

Anything higher than 90 in Crysis 2 fisheyes like hell. I played at 100 a bit, but it distorted things way too much. It's not as noticeable in open areas like your screenshot, but in smaller spaces it looks really bad.
How does 120 play better? To my knowledge, 90 is rendering less at a time.

100 is about my upper limit, though I still prefer 90.
Looks fisheye, TBH.
How does 120 play better? To my knowledge, 90 is rendering less at a time.
I'm not talking about rendering, I'm talking about how it feels to the player, having a greater field of view means less turning, more situational awareness, more spatial awareness, the world feels more 3 dimensional (as in there's a real nice sense of distance and space), it's awesome, of course there's a point where you can take it too far and it just looks wrong (140). Not that 90 is terrible, it's more just a matter of opinion whether you prefer 120 or 90, I prefer 120, and anything below 90 gives me minor motion sickness. I think the option to set your FoV between 55-150 should be there (no cap for singleplayer games).
Looks fisheye, TBH.
There's minor fisheye, not enough to make you think, "Shit this is fucking fisheyeing." But enough to give a nice sense of "I'm looking through the eyes of a human."
Also in Crysis 2 if you're playing a FOV higher than the default the camera will clip into walls and such.

But this is a Deus Ex thread, not a Crysis 2 FOV thread. We should probably get back on topic.

I don't see what the problem is, both look pretty good.
The only real problem is that you can't adjust your weapon field of view so you end up with a hilariously oversized weapon when looking at it at 120.
I don't see how anyone can think the second one looks good. Looks like everything is getting sucked into a wormhole
