I'm guessing it's just the eyefinity support, which is not really a surprise.
They've already stated so, so that is not the surprise. [editline]4th May 2011[/editline] Eyefinity looks dumb anyway
They've already stated so, so that is not the surprise. [editline]4th May 2011[/editline] Eyefinity looks dumb anyway
Let's hope not. But what else is there AMD-specific? I think eyefinity looks kind of cool, but it's not worth the fps-loss because of the extremely high resolution required over 3 screens.
Deus Extras
why
why
O I c what you did there By the way did you know the game will be released in AUG-ust? hmm?
As long as they have proper graphic settings and not that Crysis 2 bullshit I will be fine with it.
Eyefinity looks dumb anyway
I don't like the borders between screens so I'd pretty much never bother with it, but calling it dumb, is kinda dumb. [editline]5th May 2011[/editline] "Krokan says: This is nice although it is disturbing that "no ‘Press start’ screen" and "mouse support" have become "extra features" for a PC game" "Yvese says: Cool. Though I do agree with the above comment that the whole "Press Start" and "Mouse Support" should be no brainers for any PC game, not a "feature" developers can brag about when making PC versions of a multi-platform game." Reminds me of when a couple of studios were trying to score cred by making a big deal about dedicated servers being in their game, really is quite silly. But it's nice to know that those elements are there. Any word on what that AMD feature is? I wonder what it could be.
You use the F keys to access augmentations - just like in Deus Ex 1:
‐ Can you explain a bit about the control scheme of the PC version? JB: The game can be played either with a controller or with a mouse and keyboard. The control scheme can be customized to the player’s liking. A lot of rework has been done for the mouse and keyboard control. Every piece of the game UI has been adapted for this. When you are playing a game on PC, you expect the pieces of UI (button, controls, etc) to react with the mouse as opposed to tapping up and down on a controller and then selecting your choice with the accept button. This was a real challenge in the case of Deus Ex: Human Revolution because we use a lot of in‐game UI. The hacking interface is a prime example of this. The team basically had to rethink the control scheme of the hacking mini‐game, so that it made sense on PC. JFD: We support controllers, of course, but we tried to stay as close as possible to the control scheme of the original Deus Ex in terms of the mouse and keyboard. Of course, it can't be totally the same since we have features like the cover system that require their own scheme. So, the numeral keys are allocated to the items/weapons and the F keys are allocated to the active augmentations, for example. One very cool thing in regards to the control scheme that fans will enjoy is that they can use the keypad on the keyboard to enter numbers like in the original Deus Ex.
Source: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=27596694&postcount=101

I just hope they give us toggle cover. All the previews say you have to hold a key/button to stay in cover.
I just hope they give us toggle cover. All the previews say you have to hold a key/button to stay in cover.
It's confirmed you can choose between 'toggle' cover or 'hold' cover in the options menu :)
I love it when developers think of everything and actually, y'know, listen to the players.
I love it when developers think of everything and actually, y'know, listen to the players.
This is kind of granted in this case because this is the follow-up to one the most fan acclaimed game of ALL TIME. Don't expect Nethack levels of "The bastards really thought of everything"
oh my god my stages of thought after reading that 1: Nethack 2: Nethack has the oracle 3: There's an oracle in deus ex 4: OH MY GOD

This particular one shows the Detroit city hub.
Anybody else think the screenshot(s) here look awesome? Love the level design here.
I noticed a basketball hoop, they better give me XP for throwing the ball through there.
Sign him up for the knicks!!!!
So was the cool AMD feature revealed?
It's probably just details on how it'll work with Eyefinity.
So was the cool AMD feature revealed?
I called it. Check the previous posts. AMD 3D and eyefinity.
"Krokan says: This is nice although it is disturbing that "no ‘Press start’ screen" and "mouse support" have become "extra features" for a PC game" "Yvese says: Cool. DX11, 3D, nice.
I wanna see what the tessellation looks like.
I wanna see what the tessellation looks like.
There was that vid a while back where they switched wireframe on and off along with tessellation but the quality was so poor you could barely see anything :smith:
http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/05/06/how-deus-ex-human-revolution-feels-on-pc/ Bam, 10 hours they've played apparently.
http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/05/06/how-deus-ex-human-revolution-feels-on-pc/ Bam, 10 hours they've played apparently.

We’ve had the first ten hours of the PC version of Deus Ex: Human Revolution on our Steam accounts for a week or so now.
Can we infer that this game uses Steamworks, then?
I bloody well hope so.
I just want to punch a hole in the wall, jam my head through, and scream 'PEEKABOO' at the top of my lungs at some unsuspecting guard.
