I'll most likely be getting the Augmented edition, fuck figurines if they're not action figures
A non-lethal takedown is always the most silent takedown.
I'll take the GEP gun. I like to make a silent takedown.
I've already got the Augmented edition on preorder, I'm not cancelling it to get the Collector's one. Because figurines are dorky as hell. [editline]24th May 2011[/editline] it's one thing to be an avid PC gamer nerd, but collecting toys is crossing the line

The others are fucking horrible, no wonder they put Jensen in there.

I'm playing on Hard and fire a P220 round at a few guys crowded around. Big bang goes off, and I see two other guys a few yards away, yet don't budge. Another instance is when I chucked a TNT crate on another dude and someone goes "I think I heard something." Moments later, "Nothin' I guess." I just blew your buddy into cooked mincemeat, well-done.

I don't mind that stuff, but what bugs me is how everyone knows where I am the second I hit someone with a tranquilliser dart :argh:

I can only use pepper spray and teargas if I have to attack.
Best of luck. My current playthrough is melee oriented on hard. I'm currently in Hong Kong and have stolen 15 or so gas grenades from the police.

Oh and getting Ford Schick out of the sewers without killing or knocking out any of the MJ12 troops was an absolute bitch.
It's the getting close enough for melee that'll be the hard part. And who's Ford Shick?

[editline]25th May 2011[/editline] If you do that, Smuggler gives you a discount on his goods.

'Stitcher' fixes this.
My version is augmented
sure haven't heard that one in a while
I've never heard of him, I'm in Hells Kitchen now, I just bought a load of LAMs from Smuggler, he said he'd give me another if I fragged an ATF. What the hell is an ATF :frown:

Wait, since when has ATF had explosives in their name?
I'm surprised it's not Firearms, Alcohol, Tobacco, and Explosives given how much our government loves retarded acronyms.

Deus ex still refuses to run. Copied and pasted from the message I sent steam support (that was probably ignored):
My copy of Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition does not run. It displays an error of "Application error: Failed to find steam." I have tried: -uninstalling, restarting steam, and trying again -starting the game as administrator -starting the game in every compatibility mode possible -Deleting the game from the registry as well as all the files associated -Yelling to no avail. I am running the game from a computer with Windows 7, an ATI 4850 with the latest drivers, an intel Core 2 Duo E7200, 4 GB of ram, and the game is installed on the same hard drive as steam and my primary operating system. The game will not run from the .exe nor will it run from steam itself. Naturally, I do not try running the game without steam. Thank you for your help!
:( Anyone have any suggestions? Some sort of magical registry fix? Anything?

Drivers?
Have you verified integrity of game cache?
every time I run the game.
Drivers?
All updated.

Oh and getting Ford Schick out of the sewers without killing or knocking out any of the MJ12 troops was an absolute bitch.
I figured it was impossible since the guards would spot me across the huge chasm in the sewers. Every goddamn time. Yet the NSF doesn't do a damn thing when I'm across the room in their helibase.
Then you lockpick a door and suddenly every guard within a kilometre can hear you.
I was picking a locked cabinet near some scientists [sp]in the MJ12 compound, inside the VersaLife building, [/sp] and they got up and nearly pissed themselves, while the guards that were across the hall behind what looked like blast doors kicked it wide open and started to rip my augmented butt in two with their flamers and plasma guns. Needless to say, I waited until I finished my mission so I could get it. Had to gas everyone so no one would sound the alarm. :v:
I don't mind that stuff, but what bugs me is how everyone knows where I am the second I hit someone with a tranquilliser dart :argh:
I wish the Tranq darts would be quicker in knocking a guy out. Shoot dart -> Guy looks RIGHT IN YOUR EYE and starts shooting -> he does the future pop-n-lock for a few seconds then runs -> he sounds like he just put on iced underwear and falls. NOT FOR MJ12 TROOPS, ARGH. :argh:
I'm doing a "First Do No Harm" run right now, meaning it's a nonlethal run but I also can't knock anyone out, be it with tranqs or the baton. I would've stuck with my stealth pistol, but I pop a guy in the head with a bullet or two and he acts like I shot a spitwad at his face. Oh well, a silenced my sniper rifle, works like a charm. (Buggy fucker)
I tried a pistol runthrough once, only to discover that near the end of the game, you stop finding 10mm ammo, because I guess the developers felt nobody would be using a pistol when you have GEPs and LAWs and Plasma Rifles and the DTS and whatnot.

It was just so good for everything, I never used anything else except for the sniper rifle occasionally when it came to long ranged combat.
