I remember when blockland roleplays were low-key servers with friends using grammar, having adventures and being productive... Now they're either blubbering children asking "CAN I BE DOGE PLZ?" and running around screaming or strange commercial-tier RPGs with small areas and a strict gambling system for each action everyone takes.

Old free blockland was was hella fun
In most ways mediocre compared to retail blockland but hey it was free.
Not that the current blockland is expensive or anything I just never got around actually buying it.

With V21, they're improving brick and vehicle physics, adding dynamic shadows, all kinds of fancy shit, etc. With the new engine version they're using, terrain looked awful and they didn't feel like fixing it so they're making every map except Slate incompatible.
Bedroom will be sorely missed
Also, I am kind of happy about the update.
1. It will make movies or videos a lot more appealing

My build in the Halloween build from badspots server last year. It was probably one of the best block parties hosted.
I had a pretty interesting idea while on a Nightclub server a little while ago. People were originally just dancing around to Srkillex when a few people sat down and started talking. Eventually, the host turned off the music and joined their discussion. It shifted around a bit; At first they were talking about their interests, what they were working on, summer plans, but then they started talking about the re-election, the whole zombie apocalypse thing, all kinds of mature topics. A few minutes earlier they were spamming "AAAAAAA" in chat while listening to some kind of techno-scream earrape, but now they were smart.
It got me thinking; What if there were an entire server dedicated to this kind of talking - A lounge? A warm color pallet, people sitting at tables and other people searching for a topic they were interested in, and even a LocalChat mod to filter out all of the discussion happening at once. Essentially, a physical forum. No deathmatch gimmicks or rave music, no quests or stores; just unobstructed talking.
I began to start building something like this when Crash15 came in, started dicking around with Artillery Beacon and made me ragequit. So is anybody else interested in this concept?
Been playing this game since September 06, good times, wasn't it V6 at that time? I remember being in the game before V8. Jesus fuck, V21 is coming. It is starting to get boring and hard to keep up with, all the add-ons and stuff, gotta keep downloading alot of shit to just play a server.

I can agree with this, me and a friend usually host a Post-apocalyptic Roleplay, and we have to deal with retards not listening to the admins. We've tried yelling at them in all caps, we even banned a couple retards who wouldn't listened. They still don't listen

I was there, and it wasn't really that one-sided. Both of you were barking commands and spamming the chat with caps and rabid swearing, because people were disobeying a rule that you established only when people started killing the admins. If you rabidly scream, try to control what everyone's saying and doing, and ban people who disagree with what you say... people aren't going to listen to you.
Anyway, I'm still trying to make that lounge, but I can't think or build of any open lounge areas that encourage discussions. Every time I build it, it's either too cramped, crowded and narrow to the point that you can't even see a table without being right next to it, or so open, wide and airy that there are too many visual distractions to focus on conversation. I can't find a good mix...
Is anyone good at this type of stuff?
