Does the original Fallout not have some sort of quest tracker? All it says on my pip under the radscorpion quest is Stop the Radscorpions! Would make it very difficult if I decided to save this quest for later.
NMA is No Mutants Allowed, the oldest website dedicated to Fallout, and the Fallout 3 hate there is over hyped, it was only like that when F3 came out, now no one talks about it or cares.
They liked New Vegas better from what I've seen. then again a lot of people liked NV more. [editline]25th May 2011[/editline] this may have been posted, but some people think that the Character in HH named "two-bears-high-fiving" was a reference to this mod http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Two-Bears-High-Fiving http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36850 Honestly I don't think so, but you never know. Also you can only see him with the wild wastelands perk.
It isn't really to the mod. The mod is based on some popular idea on the Bethesda forums about the ink blot looking like two bears high fiving. The tribal is based on the forum joke, not the mod based on the joke. The closest things I can think of being similar (Although not really the same developers) would be M'Aiq the Liar. Or The Cap'n's Guide to the Fishy Stick in Morrowind. Both 'easter eggs' to do with weird stuff the fans got up to on the forums.
Around Vault 3 (south vegas, with all the raiders) Legion encampment (the place where there's 2 hostage power ganger) Around the NCR pirson facility (powder ganger all around) And the blue vacation spot (filled with lakelurk) The rest is emptied, boring, uninteresting, or the respawn time is too long (Quarry junction, and even then deathclaws get boring after a while, you either have to kill them from afar, or it's tough luck if they're close, stimpacks mass genocide time). I have honestly no idea why they removed random encounter and random events, it was there since the very first fallout, and was one of the many key points of what made fallout, fallout.
That's exactly where I go as well. I mean, even non combat locations are depressingly drab. It's like Welcome to New Vegas! Population: 50! Just about every casino feels dead and empty, especially gommorah, and ultraluxe. I really was hoping for a den of scum and villany for Gommora, and what I got was some awkwardly dressed people shambling along aimlessly with some moaning in the background. This has been an issue for me with every game on the gamecore? engine. The NPCs and books in the game says there are hundreds of people inhabiting a place, but you only see about 10 at a time. I'm not saying there should be thousands of NPCs onscreen, just more. I mean even in megaton it just looked like people stood around all day, and in NV, that's really all they do. I'm also confused by how the gun dealers operate; do they forge every part of the weapons they make? If so, do they give each of them a shitbath before putting them out for sale? It's like no one in the wasteland is capable of keeping their gear clean despite the abundance of detergents and turpentine and shit. I know there are dust storms and things, but weapons are a way of life, you would figure people would be more vigilant.
Best part about it is you dont have to play fallout tactics
What do you have against Tactics? I thought it was very fun, apart from the story (which was so full of holes and lore unfriendly that if it didn't exist I wouldn't shed a tear) and the whole robot bullshit (LOL ALL NON-ENERGY WEAPONS ARE USELESS NOW! FUCK YOU, PLAYER!) [editline]25th May 2011[/editline]
That's exactly where I go as well. I mean, even non combat locations are depressingly drab. It's especially baffling in F3, where Three Dog keeps talking about having to maintain your weapons. [editline]25th May 2011[/editline] Does anyone have a nice Fallouty avatar they could share? Mine is so generic it hurts.
shit really :smith: he's been working pretty well so far problems so far is he's a dumbass at breaking open doors and computers. That's gonna bite me in the ass ain't it? [editline]25th May 2011[/editline] Guns and repair seem like good skills to tag on a first playthrough. I'll try an unarmed/melee one next.
That Charisma is really kind of pointless (and lowering it yields some funny insults) My build is 6 strength 4 Perception 7 Endurance 3 Charisma 4 Intelligence 3 Agility 7 luck Or something along those lines. My character specializes in repair, lockpick, guns and melee weapons. I don't use melee weapons often though because im using realistic&dynamic combat, which makes combat more intense. (weapons kill a lot quicker- its not unusual to be cut down in three shots with metal armor inside the hidden valley bunker from tri beam lasers.)
Just watched my friend play Dead Money. Damn glad I didn't buy it.
Just watched my friend play Dead Money. Damn glad I didn't buy it.
How come?
It was boring.
You must not like interesting characters or writing then. Maybe Operation Anchorage is more your style.
No, I didn't like that either. But I'd rather play OA than Dead Money.
that's weird
I'm weird.
Great. My save is now corrupt. I am at that quest about Mr. Gunersson's son. I have him with me, but he froze up so i can't bring him to his dad. As soon as i load the save, the entire White Glove Society spawns next to me. Even if i avoid being killed, Mr.Gunersson will either run away or shoot them, eitherway leads to the quest and among other quests being failed. :argh:
I'm about an hour in to Honest Hearts, I'm liking it so far. The .45 submachine gun is pretty awesome.
I hope the next DLC will have some German WW2 weaponry, so my dear Hans won't have to use this capitalistic pieces of shit.

I save regularly, a new one almost every time. If there's limited slots I do a sort of 1, 2, 1, 3, 1, 4, 5, 4, 5, 6 thing so I no only have a shitload of backups but I could also go back to any point in the game if I felt like it. With Fallout I just create a new save every time I save. Relying on Auto/Quicksave is a bad idea.
9mm smg
Isn't that modeled after the Grease Gun, though?
9mm smg
the 9mm looks more like the grease gun, which is also american. DAMMIT NINJAS
I think I had 800 saves during my hardcore playthrough.

Also does anyone else have the habit of quick saving every 5 seconds?
ONLY in STALKER
9mm smg
The 9mm is a M3 Grease Gun, what the hell did you think it was? An MP40?
The 9mm is a M3 Grease Gun, what the hell did you think it was? An MP40?
I wish obsidian had included .45 caliber weapons from the start. The M1911, Thompson, and Grease Gun were in fallout 2 and would have made good additions to new vegas. There is a greasegun in new vegas, but it's not *really* a greasegun given the 9mm caliber.

I think the main reason we didn't get a thompson was the RCW.
There were 9mm greaseguns. I agree on the second part, though. I think the main reason we didn't get a thompson was the RCW.
I like how the RCW was a laser thompson.
After Honest Hearts and playing it through once already, I really don't want to go back to Dead Money. It was too shut in and depressing for me. It had some good characters, but would have benefited from a larger environment I feel.
I like how the RCW was a laser thompson.
Energy Weapons are (or at least were) totally worthless if you were playing on the harder difficulties. Would have much rather had the conventional weapon variation and .45 caliber rounds. I have a feeling Obsidian may have been caught up in the whole "more weapons is redundant" thing, forgetting that just having as assload of weapons to choose from is fun in of itself. That's probably their rational for removing the "Battle Rifle" from the game a few months before release :saddowns:
