Just played Dead Money recently so far and have mixed reactions.
This DLC plays like hardcore hell, such as no beds and incredibly limited resources at the start. But until I reached the casino it was really challenging and struggling. All in all it was enjoyable although incredibly taxing and brutal.
What I find incredible though is the amount of loot you can gain in the end, which I'll explain a bit a later in this post.
And while I'm bored and waiting for Assassins Creed Brotherhood to be unlocked on Steam, I'd figure I'd make a quick story about my end of the DLC.
So spoilers ahoy and massive screenshots, it begins with this:

After many hours I finally managed to get to the Vault itself. Shocking!

Once I walked inside the Vault I was rushing myself as fast as fuck in both excitement and fear, wanting to unravel the mysteries and nab as many stuff as possible for the taking.
...then this caught my attention.

After hearing about "Let Go... Begin Again," and reading this through the wiki about it;
It should be mentioned, humorously, that given that the theme of the DLC appears to be "Let Go... Begin Again," a phrase which is repeated numerous times throughout your journey through the Sierra Madre, the Gold Bars are placed there specifically as a frustration/temptation for players who would like to claim them. Without exploiting weaknesses in the gameplay design, the only way to escape the Sierra Madre alive is to leave most, if not all, of the Gold Bars behind, and to "let go" of the wealth they represent.
I got a great idea.
I then cued the music and went ahead with it.
And the first step in my excellent plan was...

Well as you can see in a bit I fucked up. At the time all I was thinking about was the gold and I was rushing like crazy, so it didn't occur to me to keep all my items since I was going to be overencumbered as fuck anyway.

So I bidded farewell to all my weighted belongings and weapons before picking up all the gold, only to keep the Dead Money clothing as a souvenir if I actually managed to pull this off.
Next in my plan was to drop off all my gold at the door, so I could run and pick it all up once I convinced father Elijah to come down and see me:

You know, I would have thought this would've been a mess with 36 bars and all. My second fuck up was that there were actually 37 bars in total.

Once Elijah was coming down I picked it all up and shitstakingly crawled my way to the stairs on the right, from there I dropped it and ran somewhere where he couldn't see me hide.

Oh shit there he is I'd better hide!

Comic book reading is finally paying off. :ninja:
Soon after I legged it, picked up the gold, and walked up the stairs through the deactivated forcefield before it got switched back on.

Phew, that was a close call! Fucking walked my way out there like a boss and trapped father Elijah inside.
It wasn't over just yet....

Once outside I needed to get the hell out of Sierra Madre.

At first I panicked and didn't know how to leave so I just ended up walking and sneaking through the alleys weaponless before getting ghost rushed and mauled in the toxic clouds. Took me a while to figure out where I actually needed to head off to. :downs:

Ah sunlight!
Time for me to go back home at the Lucky 38, put this all in my chest and...

:saddowns:
Conclusion:

Success! I'm now 379,404 caps richer, have probably broke the need for cap scavenging in the game and have the ability to buy New Vegas 10 times over. Not only that, but I've also collected enough Sierra Madre chips to buy me 140 Stimpacks! Problem is I can't even really sell the gold for full value anywhere else besides one or two places with a small workaround, but oh well.
And this concludes my highly unprofessional but successful one-man heist :v:
Fuck yeah, Pimp-Boy 3 billion!
Wait, who did you sell the gold to? I can't find any traders that have more than 5K caps or so, and the bars are worth far more than that.

Since I looked into it I went to Gun Runners considering they have 8000 caps. Before I confirmed the transaction I would choose as much I as want from the list (guns, ammo, mods) to make up the cost losses.
Being a shady character focused on pistols (mostly revolvers) and stealth, I decided that, no matter what, the Police Pistol and the Assassin suit were coming with me.
I brought back only 4 gold bars and around 150 pre-war dosh. I thought, "well, it's still a nice amount of money..."
After seeing your magnificient heist, I feel poor. :golfclap:
I'm on my second play through of New Vegas atm.
Got kicked out of every casino again. I have about 70k+ caps.
I have no idea what to spend it on.
Spend it on whatever the fuck you want, there's pretty much no consequence.
Did anyone notice that the guy in Nipton who won the lottery gets killed by scorpions?

Buy New Vegas from House
I wish they had included A.I. Poker/Blackjack, would have made the casinos 10x as fun.
Anyone know where I can get the pre-order packs?
I doubt they are considered warez, since they are impossible to buy.

If you're talking about the DLC, then you can order it from Steam. If you're talking about the starter packs, then I'm sure you could just enable them via console command.
the pre-order bonuses are not in the game (so no console commands, they're a separate data files), nor can you buy them on steam.
So you're out of luck, sorry

But the items in the pre-order bonus packs are already part of the main game itself. If there isn't a code that can give the OP the full pre-order pack in one go, then I'm most certain he could just spawn each item individually into his inventory.

The pre-order packs are not in the game, they are separate ESPs.
According to Vault wiki each one had 1 unique item that is not in the game files.
Each one had a unique suit of armor and a unique weapon not found in-game, along with a few other items that are available in-game.
They are

Ah ok, I didn't know that.
Well, what do you know!
Between all the weaboo shit and Nexus' awful search engine, I found the mod I was looking for!

buh-thez-duh
I'll assume it's pronounced the way the town is pronounced, and everyone pronounces it like that around here.
I pronounce it Bethesdah.
This page is now about how to pronounce Bethesda. :3:
I've (finally) got Fallout 3 a few days ago. And I really don't get why people hate it. I mean, yes it's buggy and yes the MQ is kinda dumb at times, but everything else is just awesome. And this comes from a person who loved the first two Fallout games to death.
Oh, and am I the only one who thinks that New Vegas is this to F3 what F2 was to F1? It's buggier, has weapon mods and stuff, the main character doesn't come from a vault and there's way more weapons. And is equally awesome.
I dunno, I like NV more, sure it has some bugs. But it fixes the main flaws that FO3 had.
I hate that you have no choice but to do the main quest in NV when you start out, because no matter what road you follow to New Vegas, there's either a shitton of Deathclaws or those orange butterflies that are just as deadly as Deathclaws...

Great review! I'll buy the DLC once I actually see everything there is to see in FNV. Unlike in FO3, I've so far only really done the MQ, which I have now completed twice.
