I ended up turning off true iron sights in new vegas, because I could not figure out where exactly I was meant to be aiming, and so I always missed the first few shots
Is there a mod that adds leveled spawning to Fallout: New Vegas? Because they sure as hell didn't use it. Cazadors shouldn't spawn at level 1, when they kill you in 2 hits.

Gain streght and experience and lots of patience and then go blast these fuckers because you waited for so long. Instead of "Hey look every body! I'm level 1!!! You radioactive creatures and heavy duty soldiers from huge factions have NO RIGHT to be near my sight because Here's me, Mr. Important, The level 1 character!"
It feels like Half-Life 2, if I have to use the road the developers laid out for me. When I start a new character, I'll have to do half of the MQ as the first thing I do, which is what stops me from playing any further, because I really can't be bothered.
2 things I wish they had included in the game, that was left out of FO3. A. Locking doors behind you. This was so useful it's sad it wasn't included B. Blowing up locked doors. I guess they did it due to engine limitations, but it sucks that they didn't include ANY way for explosives to be used outside combat.

Apparantly, not being able to blow open doors was to balance lockpicking vs explosives.
Apparantly, not being able to blow open doors was to balance lockpicking vs explosives.
But it made explosives useless in comparison. [editline]19th March 2011[/editline]
That was an unnecessarily long and pointless story.
That wasn't a choice. You are mean. :saddowns:
Apparantly, not being able to blow open doors was to balance lockpicking vs explosives.
Letting you blow open doors would make lockpicking pretty damn useless. [editline]19th March 2011[/editline]
But it made explosives useless in comparison.
Explosives can still kill things. Lockpicks not so much.
Explosives can still kill things. Lockpicks not so much.
Unless the bobby pins were coated with the explosive epoxy from Die Hard 3 but we might as well combine the two skills and name it the locksplosive skill.

Lockpicks not so much.
It would have been a whole lot more expensive to use then lockpick, and different doors would require different explosives, ect. As it is, lockpick is a absolute must, with no alternatives. If you don't have a high lockpick score, half the game is locked off from you. At least with repair, NPCs can still repair things for you, and most computer either have a password or only have flavor text/unloack somethign that can also be unlocked by lockpicking. They should have made so you could, at least, blow the lock off a door with a cherry bomb/dynamite/frag/C4, depending on the difficulty. [editline]19th March 2011[/editline] Explosives, while fun, still aren't that useful, except for the rare occasion of having a bunch of weak-average enemies bunched together.
Unless the bobby pins were coated with the explosive epoxy from Die Hard 3 but we might as well combine the two skills and name it the locksplosive skill.
I don't really tend to use lockpicking or explosives all that much. But locksplosive? That sounds like something I'd have to invest some skill points in.
I don't know about 'equally awesome.' I, too, went back to replay Fallout 3 in between New Vegas playthroughs, and there were several things that made me go "oh, come on!" --Ass-backward repair system: "YOUR REPAIR SKILL IS 30, SO YOU CAN'T REPAIR THIS WEAPON MORE THAN 30 PERCENT." Fuuuuuck that. --No stealth kills. No matter how quiet you were, killing someone anywhere near another NPC caused then to turn hostile. There is mod that tries to fix this, but it doesn't always work. --The textures. OKay, yeah, came out a few years ago, but HOLY SHIT THAT TEXTURE COMPRESSION. Even at max settings things look like ass. --The models. Every model has some kind of invisible force field around it, so cover is useless because you'll keep hitting the "force field" if you try to fire too close to the edge of the model. --No ironsights (duh) New Vegas has issues of its own, but at least it addressed those glaring bullshit problems.
The textures and models in NV also look like ass, it takes a shitload of mods in either game to make it look half decent. And even then, Gamebryo makes even the best textures look like absolute shit. [editline]19th March 2011[/editline] Also some of the ironsights in new vegas are badly made, and all the others are still terrible since you've got your face pressed right up against textures that are unavoidably more compressed than a fat girl trying on her catwalk model friend's clothes.
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BeefGate
My point is, that the point of the Fallout is to go around and explore, and not follow the same freaking path everytime you play. And if you simply DO follow the main path, the game will end, before you get to kill the Cazadors or Deathclaws. Fallout 3 didn't have this issue, because everywhere there was a challenge to find. When you were too high level for a Supermutant Brute, the Masters started comming at the areas where the Brutes were.
Why not just not ask about where the guy in the checkered coat went?
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BeefGate
fuck. There goes 2 hours of my live

It leads you toward a path of enemies that you are fit to encounter, and then eventually you get strong enough to get free reign and travel anywhere. Fallout 1? Vault 13 -> Shady Sands -> Vault 15 -> Junktown -> Hub : Once you get to the hub, you should be in the teens or higher, and have access to better weapon merchants. At this point, the game lets you go where you want without to much trouble. Fallout 2? Arroyo -> Klamath -> Den -> Ghost Farm / Modoc -> Gecko / Vault City : Same thing! Around this time, you should be a decent level, and have some passable weapons. This is when the game starts to let you go where you want. Fallout 3? Vault 101 -> Megaton... And then just go wherever the fuck you want short of Project Purity or Old Olney due to the piss-easy nonsensical level scaling. Fallout NV? Goodsprings -> Primm -> Nipton -> Novac -> Boulder City -> New Vegas : By the time you reach vegas, you should be in the early teens, have some capable weapons, and have access to most of the game's better merchants.
My point is, that the point of the Fallout is to go around and explore.
No.
Ok Facepunch, here is the million dollar question. NCR or Caesar's Legion? Agree for NCR and disagree for legion. Just want to know which one fp joined. Also for you rebels, dumb for house and late for yes man.
http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35411 Also This replace Reinforced Combat Armor and MKII. In my opinion I like it it adds a throw back to fallout 2 and looks alot better

That doesn't mean there's only one path that you can take, but just that at low levels you have to be careful where you wander because there are things out there tougher than you.
Trust me if were level 5 and had leather armor with a desert eagle and you got random encounter with Wanamingos you know the definition of 'FUCKING BULLSHIT!'
Ok Facepunch, here is the million dollar question. NCR or Caesar's Legion? Agree for NCR and disagree for legion. Just want to know which one fp joined.
Caesar's Legion are a bunch of stuck-up tossers.

Facepunch isn't that bad. Not yet, anyways. Ask again next week.
Fuck I hate cazadores. First encountered them when I was level 3 or 4 when I first got the game. Before fighting them; "these dudes will be a pushover" During fighting them; "OH GOD HELP ME PLEASE" After fighting them; "Dammit my last save game was 15 minutes ago"
I find them tougher to kill then deathclaws
