The Cowboy Repeater just so satisfying to shoot, same with the .357 Revolver. Also a question, i just got to the strip and [sp]Found Yes-Man and talked to him[/sp] how far would i be into the storyline?

About three-quarters or halfway through.

I hate the look of the revolver.

The 44 magnum is more awesome.

The cowboy repeater is neat but it fires way too fucking fast.. majorly OP weapon. Once you get the custom action the thing is basically fully automatic.
But once you have all the mods.. it's so beautiful :aaaaa:

No :colbert:
Single action 4 lyfe. besides, once you can start making jacketed flat point ammo, the 357 is insanely accurate.
Well, I found out a while ago that turning the texture quality up to High does jack shit to my FPS. Turning on shadows and AA would likely fuck my shit up, however. But it does look substantially better than Low. By the way, what causes the "Booted" mission to fail? I decided to try out the motorcycle mod, and while riding through the wastes, it just randomly said "Mission Failed - Booted". It also fucked up the Wheel of Fortune mission, so I had to just kill the guys to get the keys and raid Searchlight myself.
My laser rifle model is huge red exclamation point. The only mod I have that would potentially cause conflict would by WMX. Could somebody help?
I have a feeling that I could have accidentally deleting either a mesh of a texture file pertaining to the laser rifle while I was deleting a mod.
Try using Archive Invalidation Invalidated if you don't have it already.

I think they should have made That Gun just become a .223 Revolver and have an NPC called That Guy who has That Gun.
Nope nope nope. The Fallout Universe is one that never progressed, CULTURALLY, past the 1950s. That does indeed mean no 1960s/70s rock, as those grew out of social movements of the period (which, as I say, never happened).
Of course you'll see tech from later than the '50s, since the Great War didn't happen until well after 2000. But that was all affected by the 1950s culture--no microchips because people were still obsessed with nuclear power, etc. Nuclear powered cars, but they all have that bulbous, fin-laden 1950s style.
Whoops, I didn't make myself clear. I meant that the tech, apart from inventing microchips, progressed as usual.
As for the whole rock thing, well... Maybe it's not lore friendly, but it still fits perfectly into New Vegas.

Where the hell did you get the Chinese Assault Rifle? And the Combat Shotgun?
The 44 magnum is more awesome.
True, the .44 is as accurate as some rifles - I remember sniping Fiends who were ~60 m from my character with it. And that *BLAM* it makes... My favourite weapon.

Oh, and note to self: NEVER TRY CLIMBING BLACK MOUNTAIN ON LEVEL 6 WITH A SERVICE RIFLE.
/caps
And one more thing: I started playing on Hardcore yesterday. I was scared it would be too tough for me, but it's great. The whole ammo has weight, dehydration, sleep, food and only Doctor Bags heal broken limbs thing feels so... Fallout.
Brush gun master race

I know FOOK has a Chinese Assault Rifle. Not so sure about the Combat Shotgun, though.

It's finished but it's in french, english version is coming soon. I can't wait for the english version. Shit looks cash.

My reaction was pretty much "Meh, looks like another generic vehicle mod"
But then it had me at "can store crap in the trunk" and "all doors and lights are interactive"
Do I need to be able to read french to use this mod? Or is it fairly self-explanatory?
EDIT: never mind, I just saw there's an entire quest to get the car. I'll wait for the english version.
I was exploring Vault 92 with my fellow canine companion, Dogmeat. At some point I hear him barking behind me, i turn around and
HOLY SHIT HE'S RUNNING AWAY FROM A FREAKING WALKING SKELETON MY GOD WHAT THE FUCK
The pile of bones fell on the ground. Apparently the dog was simply running, but bumped into it in a way that made it bounce at a weird angle, so it looked like it was alive, for a brief second.
I still left the room and locked the door, without ever turning my back to the skeleton again. Ever.

Looks awesome. Would be cool to have cars in the next fallout. Would be interesting to break into a millionaire's garage of vintage prewar cars.
They'll probably get off the gamebryo engine (finally, at least for Fallout), so the new engine might handle vehicles easier, causing more interesting gameplay, game mechanics, and hopefully much bigger worlds. I would really like to be able to fly a junky scrap plane, and drop nuka-grenades on raiders from the sky.\
EDIT: you know what? Why hasn't ANYONE made a mod that puts something like the Gyro captain's vehicle from The Road Warrior? There has to be SOMEONE out there who's seen that movie and plays NV. It would be fun to fly around in that.

I hope fallout 4 has a new engine too. Is skyrim using gamebryo because it doesn't seem so. Whatever skyrim is using looked good. Also, if you could simply drive around cars that might seem really strange. Plus people would simply run over enemies instead of fighting them directly.
Well, if there were cars available in the wasteland, then I assume raiders would also take advantage, so you'd be able to have little car chases around the wastes. A good mechanic would be finding fuel too. Every so often you'd have to scavenge a tiny bit from an abandoned car, or trade for some with a merchant. It would keep players from being able to just drive everywhere nonstop, which gets monotonous after a while (I'm looking at you, Far Cry 2).
Also, how hard is it to make custom models (specifically, weapon models) and turn them into guns? I would really like to replicate some of those improvised weapons from that thread in Fast Threads, like that SVD/AK gun. You'd think there'd be a lot of them in the wastes, since not everyone has the money to buy weapons from traders. They'd be really cheap, but they'd be only semi-powerful at best and would be in horrible condition when you find them.
What programs do that anyway? I know about the GECK, but I thought that was just for making game areas.
EDIT: Oh, cool, you can make weapons in it!
Forgive me thread but I'm about to do something horrible for boredom
I am going to download the Super Skinny female replacer and clothing and let my normal female character turn into slut wearing Armored panties

I don't think the world is big enough or the terrain even enough to have vehicles. Although a post-apoc game like that would be nice regardless of it being Fallout.
The oblivion-style map design isn't bad, but it would be cooler if they made a really, really big map and then brought the highwayman back + fallout 2 style fast travel.
Like a huge terrain map with mostly generated stuff, and then have "areas of interest" that are all hand crafted and have stuff to explore.
I revert that skinny ass shit it scared me
Wow, I'm surprised. La Longue Carabine + Cowboy + .357 JFP is probably best sniping weapon in game. Easy and cheap to repair, ludicrously accurate, low skill requirement, High ROF, biggish magazine.
I'm rolling LLC, Ranger Sequoya, Chances Knife, and loads of dynamite on my cowboy character, and it is working surprisingly well.
[editline]3rd April 2011[/editline]
I haven't tried the scoped trail carbine yet, though.
Been playing my second playthrough in Fallout 3 for a while: Anti social gasmask douchebag.
I just finished unleashing a ghoul horde into Tenpenny Tower but besides that I haven't been able to find, like, any quests that aren't either for good karma or cartoonishly bad karma.
Any suggestions for where I should go next? Looking for something bad to do, but not punching kittens, enslaving children bad.
Also, here's my two Chelicerata friends, Skitters the radscorpion and some Mirelurk, hanging by poorly detailed water by the riverboat.
New Vegas is good for being an asshole in, you can initiate an attack on someone during a perfectly calm and normal conversation for absolutely no reason.

This and the other Archive Invalidation file didn't work. I suspect missing textures or meshes.
Is it legal to upload meshes of textures for the game? If it is would some kind soul please upload the texture and meshes for the Laser Rifle and the Laser Pistol.
If it is illegal, then never mind.

WMX now uses custom Laser Rifle and Laser Pistol meshes. Redownload it to fix it.
what causes the "Booted" mission to fail?
Killing the captured powder gangers. Killing(or attacking) Logan at Camp Searchlight or Boxcars at Nipton can fail the quest Wheel of Fortune as well. I suppose it's the motorcycle mod, it's buggy as hell and merely touching an NPC with your bike turns them hostile.
