Odd. I ran Fallout 3 fine on an i5. WhatI found odd (and annoying) is that Broken Steel never started. I contacted Bethesda and it still didn't. Not that I care. I never liked Fallout 3 a whole lot.
[sp]Holy shit Vault 11 legitimately scared me, luckily i had just gone to HELIOS ONE and i had shitloads of EMP grenades and the Paladin Fryer[/sp]
FUCKING FALLOUT 3. I have nearly completely given up. It crashes ALL. THE. FUCKING. TIME. I'm not even joking, I save religiously, quick-saving maybe about 10 or so times in one minute. I've looked around and it seems that Fallout 3 crashes a lot for people on Windows 7 aswell. Why? New Vegas shares the same engine but only crashes about a tenth as much.
DON'T quicksave. Oh, and turn off autosaving as well.
New Vegas is 3 years after Fallout 3.
Then where the hell did I get the 200 years thing from? That's the real question :/
Then where the hell did I get the 200 years thing from? That's the real question :/
200 or so years after the Great War?
[sp]Holy shit Vault 11 legitimately scared me, luckily i had just gone to HELIOS ONE and i had shitloads of EMP grenades and the Paladin Fryer[/sp]
What about Vault 21? Imagine just being trapped in the lower levels of the vault when Mr. House [sp]flooded it with concrete and converted it into a luxurious yet affordable hotel.[/sp]
I wonder what would happen after you complete Mr. House's Missions? You become the most famous person ever in the mojave wasteland?
What about Vault 21? HOW DARE HE BRING [SP]4 STAR LUXURY DOWN TO 2 STAR PRICES!?![/sp]
I wonder what would happen after you complete Mr. House's Missions? You become the most famous person ever in the mojave wasteland?
you should do that quest line and find out.
... That BASTARD! HOW DARE HE BRING [SP]4 STAR LUXURY DOWN TO 2 STAR PRICES!?![/sp]
He may be a bastard but without him[sp]Robco would never been created.[/sp]
[sp]I had to open up the console and kill the sentry bots because they made me game crash[/sp]
Happened to me too after i threw the first grenade.
He may be a bastard but without him[sp]Robco would never been created.[/sp]
Oh come on, that one was fucking obvious, and that isn't a spoiler
Apparently there's a mod on the Nexus that makes all the tripwires rigged into Fat Men.
Apparently there's a mod on the Nexus that makes all the tripwires rigged into Fat Men.
It's called "easy-mode activated"
It's called "easy-mode activated"
You don't understand sir. The shotguns that used to be triggered by the tripwires? Yeah those shotguns are Fat Men now. You best be finding them before they find you. [editline]9th April 2011[/editline] also, HOLY DAMN, THE NEW VEGAS GECK IS A PIECE OF SHIT. HOW DOES ANYONE MAKE MODS WITH THIS WORTHLESS GARBAGE?!
I wonder what would happen after you complete Mr. House's Missions? You become the most famous person ever in the mojave wasteland?
I wouldn't worry, there will inevitably be a broken-steel like DLC so you can actually play the game after completion.
200 or so years after the Great War?
Touche, Batman
I wouldn't worry, there will inevitably be a broken-steel like DLC so you can actually play the game after completion.
Nah, it's been already said they won't make a Broken Steel-esque DLC. Too many choices, too many endings, too much work (unlike Fallout 3, which was basically purify/poison the water and be Satan/Jesus). I mean, imagine the Mojave after the NCR ending. Got it? Now imagine it after the Legion ending. Two completely different things. Also, does Broken Steel retcon the whole "your character died from the radiation after starting the purifier" thing? Or do you still die, and have to send a radiation-proof follower in?
I'm hoping someone will do a proper mod that adds this in, probably too much work for most mod teams though.

I did what was said in this thread http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=847872 And it actually worked. Oh codecs, you so silly.
You just get knocked out for a few weeks.
Well this is just dumb. In the base game, you turn into a pile of goo. Install the DLC? You only get knocked out. :effort:
I still think overall, when you look at all of the fallout games put together (Excluding those couple knock off ones like Brotherhood of Steel n' such), It comes out to a great series, and thankfully didn't pull a Activision, and beat their games like a dead horse.
Well this is just dumb. In the base game, you turn into a pile of goo. Install the DLC? You only get knocked out. :effort:
It's 50's style radiation it can do whatever the writer wants.
It's 50's style radiation it can do whatever the writer wants.
Yeah, but it does two different things whether you have an add-on installed or not. It's a huge retcon in my opinion. "Hey, guys, he died! Oh, wait, he didn't!"
In the base game, you turn into a pile of goo.
Well, it never really says that... ...then again, implied death is still implied death, so...
Bethesda did not write the original story
Bethesda still stayed a lot closer to the canon than any other developer likely would've had they gotten ahold of things. Hell, there are several places throughout Fallout 3 that show just how much they put into making things correct. Changing a few things here and there shouldn't mean the end of the world, besides. (Cotton vault suits! Shiny plasma weapons!)
Bethesda didn't want to make new factions.
If history is anything to go by, I'd say that they'd have probably been lynched for doing anything so drastic to the "canon". Then again, the "Eastern Brotherhood" might as well be its own faction considering how different it is - a point which everyone raises, y'know. Furthermore, there's a fairly reasonable explanation for them, you know, not being technophiles - if I remember correctly, they would've found heaps of technology just going through whatever the Enclave had left behind, no? As for the Enclave... perhaps they didn't have ALL their people piled into that one oil rig? Or perhaps they got out a lot of survivors? Hmm.
It'd be like if JK Rowling bought the Lord of the Rings title and made a new book called Lord of the Rings IV, re-wrote the story and tried to explain why the story suddenly changed.
Been done.
I wonder how Liberty Prime is doing
I heard he's developed a drinking problem
