What's so special about Vault 101?
It's your place of origin in Fallout 3
Oh right, I never noticed that
Anyone ever noticed how Vault 101 security armour total shit, yet Vault 34 security armour is the best light armour in the game?

all this talk of using FO3's data files in new vegas makes me want to try and load up new vegas and type in coc megatoncommonhouse. i am tempted to try this if it works i will return with tales of how the courier visited the capital wasteland, and made it a haven/hell

I have successfully run Fallout3.esm on New Vegas, although there were the placeholders for missing meshes everywhere and people didn't have any sound when they talked (the dialogue was still there though)
Oh right, I never noticed that
did you play through the entire first hour of the game blind and deaf
to fix the textures and sounds, just put the textures, meshes and sounds folder into the new vegas Data folder, that should work
yes but that will render normal New Vegas virtually unplayable.
Is it just me or is the laser weapon store in free side way to easy to rob?
In most of my chars I kill Chet in Goodsprings, because the pros of keeping him alive don't outweigh killing him and looting his current inventory.
I always keep him alive so he can buy the useless shit I scavenge early on in the game.

My Fallout Three Vegas story. (PICTURES AHOY) First of all, how to get it to work. 1. Get FOMM 2. Open Fallout 3's BSAs with FOMM 3. Extract all the BSAs to somewhere. 4. Move the resulting extractions to the data file of New Vegas. 5. BE SURE TO MISS OUT THE MISC BSA 6. Move Fallout3.esm to the data section of New Vegas. 7. You can do this with addons too, but you don't need to extract with addons, just place the esm and the bsa in the data folder of New Vegas. 8. Start New Vegas, tick Fallout3.esm 9. In game, type coc springvale 10. Viola! And now, my story of conquest, game modifying and missing meshes! I start off by running Fallout New Vegas, I'm greeted by this. Notice, green FALLOUT 3 logo, orange menu buttons. At this point, clicking New doesn't do anything, I have to load a save. Here I am, in Megaton. It looks ok, sans some of the missing meshes. I can't go up most of the ramps because pieces of the ramp are missing, causing me to fall through. When I go to Craterside supply, Moira is there and talks as usual, going on about the Wasteland Survival Guide. I sold some of my weapons that where on hand and took the schematics and parts for the Rock-it Launcher. Upon constructing it, when I opened my pip-boy and scrolled down to it, it crashed as soon as I hovered over it. One thing I noticed when playing this, is that my survival skill is still there. It doesn't do anything though, you can't access campfires. Pretty much useless. Fast forward a bit and I have (basically) utilized the console in order to cheat. I have given myself godmode and the railway rifle, which works and does not crash the game. It still fires, looks, feels, cripples, damages, like it does in Fallout 3, and it looks so bad! (Why oh why did they part with it in New Vegas, oh how I love it so!) Another thing I noticed a little while later is when you attempt to zoom in with the Railway Rifle, it seems to do this ads thing instead of the normal zoom it does in Fallout 3. It is hella annoying and blocks your shots. I had also used the map marker cheat, but its going to take more than godmode to even go near this place (man its scary as hell). So anyway, after hovering over Dunwich Building for a bit, I decide to head to Evergreen Mills, there is where I give myself Mercy and unlimited (godmode, remember) incendiary grenades. Here's the behemoth. Here's me firing at the behemoth. All I see is fucking white for a good 20-30 seconds, what with being a grenade machinegun and that. Fast forward to Big Town, disguises do jack in Fallout 3. Good reason for it, I guess, none of the disguise scripts are supposed to work in Fallout 3, so no-one reacts, still, if a Roman legionnaire rolled up with a rifle made of scrap metal, I would see what HE has to say. Bonus! This is me firing the Chinese Assault Rifle during its zoom. At this point I got bored and decided to deck myself out with a CZ57, armour piercing rounds and Gannon Family Tesla Armour. After making short work of Grouse and that other Slaver that hangs around the entrance, I enter Paradise Falls. Is good day to be giant man! I took this screenshot a bit late, I had just finished off the entire Slaver community, Eulogy included. I got his key and opened the Box, I don't understand that damn thing. Its just a Pulowski Preservation Chamber with nothing in it, why does it need a key? So there you have it, Fallout 3V, atleast until I got bored and stopped playing, I might do more of these if you guys are interested. Also, as an added bonus, here are some arty-ass machinima screenshots I took with Fallout 3. A pin-up style screenshot and a kidnap victim. (Lol@filename)
goddamn, you beat me to it. i'm having menu problems, it gets to the main menu and crashes because there is no text
Good Christ so many .BMPs. Couldn't have troubled you to much to have converted them could it?
Good Christ so many .BMPs. Couldn't have troubled you to much to have converted them could it?
But.... but... I like BMPs :saddowns:
Oh god, BMPs everywhere... Also, the lack of Honest Hearts news STILL continues to annoy me. The teaser trailer's been private on their YouTube account for what, a week or so now?
At least he got it working. Also, I maybe asking for too much here but is it possible to fix the missing meshes/textures?
View YouTUBE video http://youtube.com/watch?v=MGEKxz95XUg How the hell do I do this? Even the quests are working. Albeit buggy though.
My god, that is awesome. [editline]18th April 2011[/editline] The real question is, do fallout 3 mods work in FO3 Vegas?
Hm, Amazon.co.uk had FNV GotY edition for pre-order but they've taken it down. http://www.gamereactor.fi/uutiset/80381/Fallout%3A+New+Vegas+GOTY+havaittu/ (Finnish)
I'm pretty sure the whole bringing FO3 into FO:NV has been done before. I know I've seen something about it on Fallout 3 Underground. http://www.f3underground.com/ <--- The whole site seems to be different now, so I can't find the article I want to back my self up.
The only thing left is to fix the LOD and some of the meshes. Amirite? Edit: Me infront of Springvale Nuclear refuelling station. [img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/Fallout_3_NV.png[/img_thumb] P.S when you load your NV savegame all your stuff will be missing.
There's nothing better than spending 3 whole days trying to find a load order that doesn't crash every second, finally finding a list of mods and finishing New Vegas again. It's an awesome game, much better than Fallout 3. Here's my load order, any idea for something else to add (for another playthrough)? isn't XFO old as shit if you want a mod that makes the game super-hardcore then get FWE, it was too hardcore for me though
Does yours have sound when you interact with the main people?
Yes. And why did you have to quote the whole thing? Well, I have sound when I talk to them, but when I go near them they are silent.
If anyone ever discloses how to get FO3 working in NV without issues, do tell - I'd like to play without crashing from looking at items marked as stealing.
Isn't that only for FO3?
Oh, my mistake. I saw XFO and immediately thought you were playing FO3. I really should stop making these assumptions considering I haven't played the game in months.
Yes. And why did you have to quote the whole thing? Well, I have sound when I talk to them, but when I go near them they are silent.
Strange, it's the opposite for me.
