DAMN YOU
You are exactly right. I'm this playthrough I wanted to feel like a post apocalyptic scavenger. Roaming the wastes and struggling to survive. I think I came pretty close.

What mods are you using?

Fuck you sir.

Explain?
He gets dosh from the link clicks, that's all.
To me, it's to messy compared to Fallout 3, i just can't get my head around everything.
jesus h christ, it's not hard
there's still fucking quest markers, there's still a main quest, people still tell you where to go, if you listened to the characters and weren't a brain dead retard who wants to play 'follow the glowing marker: vegas edition' then it's make much more fucking sense than fallout 3 ever did

I don't see how anyone could miss the main quest unless they just clicked through speeches.
Oh I remember the day I got Fallout 3, back at release on 360 because my PC was nowhere near able to handle it. Such an amazing game and it still is, when I walked into the school before megaton after finding grenades in a Spingvale mailbox, and used them on the raiders occupying it.
So satisfying.
I remember when I walked into Nipton for the first time, I had my .357 I robbed out of the Bar in Goodsprings, a cowboy hat off of a dead power ganger, and a Merc Troublemaker Outfit. Big Iron started playing right as I walked in. Felt western as fuck for some reason...
THEN EVERYTHING WAS ON FIRE AND FULL OF FUCK THE END.
Nipton is one of the few places in new Vegas where the atmosphere as really struck me. I always have my character on sprint, as soon as I hit there and slaughtered the fuck out of that lottery winner I turned off sprint, and walked around slowly in a state of "Holy shit, what the hell is going on, I really, really don't want to be here".
Fallout3 had a hard time doing that, the closest I got was when you first leave the vault and see the wasteland for your first time.
I was thinking of installing that Electro-city mod, it looks pretty nice, but at the same time I can see it breaking the feel of the game a bit. Anyone know of a good darker nights mod? The slightly blue hue for night time is pathetic.

Well, I heard about the rather low spawn rate, so when I first got NV before I played it I installed IWS on "Medium"
As soon as I left goodsprings. dear lord mutated shit EVERYWHERE
Oh, and also:
This mod, Sun Valley, looks VERY promising. This guy's currently trying to get a worldspace for it (as now it's somewhere in the regular Mojave and it's bugged) but he's got a lot planned, etc. and some of it's done. Right now it includes a couple of weapons from Fallout 3 as well, and there's a few custom models.

Oh, do you use Incrased Wasteland Spawn too? Did you install NVSE for the increased spawn low/med/high to work? I've put it on high, but there's not so much monsters, I know there's supposed to be more, but all I see are patrols, and *slightly* more enemies.

you have no idea how many [del]people[/del] retards do that in these games

Yes, I had NVSE to begin with. Increased spawns work for me. Enemies everywhere :pcgaming:
I also put CORE-CIVILLIANS and CORE-PATROLS
Patrolling the Mohave almost makes me wish for a nuclear winter.

Some of the slaves have been spreading stories about the Burned Man again.

Can anyone suggest me some good mods to install please?
I really HAVE to know how they got The Strip lit up decently. It doesn't even GLOW for me. It's pathetic :saddowns: I won't even post the picture (well as an image) as my graphics have no AA whatsoever (it kills my comp)
He means to say that an RPG is not the type of game to hold your hand, unless it's one of those Bioware RPGs. If you're looking for something that's not challenging, then play a game that holds your hand. (Call of Duty in his case.)
The second chapter in Neverwinter nights is pretty much just placing you somewhere and saying "go look these places, but actually I'm just saying the name of all the areas around here". Overall, I find it quite easy to make out what your supposed to do in FNV. Not COD obvious, but definitely not that hard.

It only glows within a certain distance IIRC. You can modify the shitty max view distances even higher and things look a lot better, but drops performance greatly.
Reminds me how laggy my game is :v: 2x AA at 1600x900 on Ultra, too much for an 8800GT.

I didn't mean the surrounding glow, I probably should've worded it better. I meant how the buildings seemed to be lit up, on my game (before I added HDR and bumped up Light Fade and didn't get a performance loss (yet)) they were BARELY lit, the Lucky 38 was the only one and it was a dim dim dim blue. Now it STILL isn't but the glow exists so it gives the illusion of.

That's what I mean by lit

Yeah i'm not a fucking moron, i'm just not used to having a game do this sort of shit to me, no need to be such a dick about it.

The game hasn't done anything to you. It's you not doing anything yourself, the game provides you a blank canvas, you are a courier, you were shot during a delivery by someone you didn't really know. Go figure out who did it. Do it however you damn well please, be a dick and kill those who hide information, or are of no use to you, or be a nice, helpful guy and persuade people to give information for your help. You are given the quest markers to guide you in the right direction, what you do then is up to you, your actions while talking affect what happens, the game doesn't interfere too much.
Has there been any news on the other dlc coming out? I want to buy this, but I'm waiting for a compilation of the game and the dlc.

Honest Hearts is rumored to be coming out soon, but that's about it.

I remember strolling in there without my radio playing. The music wasn't helping at all and it became even more creepy and disturbing while going through the Town Hall.
But now I'm just getting kicked out of casinos and taking Jet even though I'm not in combat.

Yes you are. The game still has quest markers up the ass, and you're told in no uncertain terms where to go and where not to go. If you think New Vegas has little hand holding, perhaps you should check out Fallout 2, which declines to teach you the nuances of the baffling interface and instead kicks you out to save the world with only a spear and a bit of exposition. Or maybe Morrowind, where you're funnelled through a very brief tutorial before being told to deliver a package to some guy if you want to. And if you lose the package, well, no more main quest for you. Also, neither of these games have quest markers, the directions of where to go are often vague, and it's even worse in FO/2 because all the spires look the fucking same.
The lack of an hour long introduction and compulsory tutorials does not mean that the game isn't doing its utmost to help you. Since you probably skipped all the dialogue and ran off straight into a swarm of giant wasps I'll give you this hint. Talk to sunny smiles in the goodsprings tavern. There's your fucking tutorial.
i thought the strip would be alot bigger than it was ingame, when i saw the trailers and posters, i thought it was a whole city

I would hope that they would revert the whole quest markers thing. Makes the game feel a bit more mysterious and uncertain.

I guess it's because it was supposed to be more like 50s vegas, but that doesn't excuse the tininess of vegas or the fact that the strip has a bunch of fucking buses in the middle of it. If gamebryo could handle the cities in oblivion it sure as hell could have handled the fucking strip. I think it's one cell but the doors are there so that there aren't too many NPCs that might overload the 360s pathetic processor. Are there any mods that make the strip uninterrupted like it should be?

I like to know roughly where I am headed. The way Morrowwind did it seemed good, road markers point you when they can, people "help" otherwise.

They did it with Oblivion, expect to see it here too at some point. having to enter a new cell just to change casino is annoying as fuck.
