Bethesda can do pretty damn good but Fallout really shouldn't been handled by them.
I liked DC better than New Vegas. I hate the sort of brown tint in New Vegas. The only thing I didn't like about DC was all the fucking metro tunnels you had to go through. DC seemed much more open with more things, maybe cause it wasn't 75% desert :frown:
I don't care about the brown tint. What I have a problem with is deserts. At least nuked DC can look nice, deserts are just generally ugly.
So why couldn't they divide it into sections then? I'm not saying just having the entire city as one cell, I'm just saying I'd like more places to go in a city that's the main focus of the game.
The walls around the strip were annoying enough.

Deserts are the greatest thing ever
Deserts are uninteresting and undetailed.
Nuked DC is much more interesting and its outstanding at the amount of detail that was put into DC.
Nipton is one of the few places in new Vegas where the atmosphere as really struck me. I always have my character on sprint, as soon as I hit there and slaughtered the fuck out of that lottery winner I turned off sprint, and walked around slowly in a state of "Holy shit, what the hell is going on, I really, really don't want to be here".
Fallout3 had a hard time doing that, the closest I got was when you first leave the vault and see the wasteland for your first time.
I was thinking of installing that Electro-city mod, it looks pretty nice, but at the same time I can see it breaking the feel of the game a bit. Anyone know of a good darker nights mod? The slightly blue hue for night time is pathetic.
Fellout, although that mod seems to turn off the lights completely, meaning its virtually impossible to see whats going on at night.
I would like if there were actually wagons or something, because the "caravans" are fucking pathetic. It wooudl be very satisfying blowing a wagon with gunpowder on it or something up. It should not be the default explosion, though, that would suck ass.
On the account of New Vegas, I would love it to be bigger, but it would be a pain in the ass for people not having a computer with the latest and greatest, as gamebryo runs like a pile of shit with legs. Seriously, I should see any lag at all on an i5 2500, a 6950 and 4GB RAM that FNV doesn't even try to utilize.
new vegas was extremely linear. at the start of fallout 3, you could go anywhere you wanted to as soon as you got out of the vault, whereas in new vegas, it was obvious that you were to go to primm, then nipton, then novac, etc. of course new vegas is about rebuilding, but the charm fallout 3 had when you walked the wasteland just wasn't there in NV.
also fo3 had random encounters and for the most part NV didn't.

You can go anywhere you want after leaving goodsprings in NV too.
Like in Fallout 3, you are meant to go to the locations they so to start the game properly and improve your character, but you don't have to.
Fellout, although that mod seems to turn off the lights completely, meaning its virtually impossible to see whats going on at night.
Good enough for me :v: I don't explore much at night.
Real men go Goodsprings, Sloan and then New Vegas
I've started playing this again. It reminded me of how fun it is.
Speaking of exploring at night, it gets pretty interesting when you have Nevada Skies and Electro City mods installed. The night is realistically dark, you can just barely see your way, and streetlight and road signs provide just enough illumination to guide you along, and the Strip at night look twice as cool.
I also just finished playing Dead Money, did they ever explain what or who the Ghost People are?

As I probably already stated, NV is a great game but somehow stopped feeling post-apocalyptic. I miss FO3's devastated city, the various towns made of garbage, people settling in old monuments or dismissed aircraft carriers... NV is just a (badly executed) Vegas strip, some half-assed towns and desert. Lots of desert.
i am wearing t-45d power armor, nearly fully repaired, and still cazadores can poison me and force me to quickload every time they hit
i am wearing t-45d power armor, nearly fully repaired, and still cazadores can poison me and force me to quickload every time they hit
There's your problem. Get T-51b.
My main solution to Cazadors is to turn around, walk away, and hope it doesn't put my name on it's list of shit to fuck up today.
I fucking hate cazadores
they're the sole reason I have a cheat weapon in my inventory
It isn't a mini nuke minigun, that's stupidly op
My main solution to Cazadors is to turn around, walk away, and hope it doesn't put my name on it's list of shit to fuck up today.
I remember when they constantly raped me as I traveled by the lake. Needless to say once I found some powerful weaponry I pulled a Hitler on them.
Cazadores are dangerous only if they ambush you in large groups, by surprise. If you're at a nice distance and have a decent rifle, cripple the wings and laugh at them.
DC was also pretty much a ghost town, and it was split up into a shit ton of areas you can only get to through subways and such bullshit.
I liked this, personally
You had to go through a subway if you wanted to go to this place the first time, then you were free to use the fast-travel if you so desired.
And I agree when people say the fallout 3 world map was much more interesting and filled with content-full places, new vegas didn't hook me as long at all in term of exploration.
Also, I think it's ridiculous how there is almost no super mutants.
Jacobstown, no reason to attack em since they're friendly
Black Mountain, they'll either be allied to you if you help the female mutant or you'll kill them once and be done with it
And then there is the Nightkin cave, which contain 5 nightkin at most, and they don't respawn, they're also from the Black Mountain group, so either ally or dead.
Something is missing in new vegas in term of hooking the player to the wasteland.

I agree. New Vegas should have had Super Mutant Behemoths.
THE CANON
Behemoths are local only to DC due to the strain of FEV used in Vault 87. NV was a throwback to the old Fallout canon. Behemoths are certainly no part of that canon.
And anyways, the major source of super mutants has been exterminated and their once highly grouped forces have now been disbanded. It would make sense for the SMs to go as far away as possible if for lack of guidance, wandering itch or metal trauma from the sudden dislinking from the master.

Having FEV in a Vault is dumb.
this message brought to you buy common sense and Tim Cain.
also NV is supposed to get a patch today, I wish it would hurry up.

While I was at [sp]Vault 11[/sp], I got a message saying that "The House Always Wins II" Quest had failed, I was quite confused at the whole thing because as far as I know, the place where I was doesn't have absolutely anything to do with that quest. I soon forget the whole deal as I was busy looting everything.
But then, after a while, I went to Lucky 38 to change my weapons at the presidential suite, aaaaaand this is what was greeting me.

Incoming fact of life: Whoever posts in the Elder scrolls/fallout threads for enjoyment of the game itself DOES NOT LIKE THEM.
NOW I'll go back to having a computer that cannot run NV. Fuck y'all and your income spent on PCs.

Join the club, we would have jackets but we can't afford them.
Also, someone must like anime mods or they wouldn't get used/made.

Blame weaboos and the folks that like really really long hair.

The event animations and whatnot doesn't show for me, the rocket launch sequence at you-know-where only played the sounds while nothing actually happened.
