When I first met the Legion, I thought they would be some sort of ultra-purist faction dedicated to destroying immorality using mostly torture and execution, not a army of mysogenistic, slaver-raiders led by an intelligent visionary. In my opinion they are the darkest shade of grey in the game's morality. But despite all this, Legate Lanius and Vulpes Inculta almost make me want to work for them.
Well, in other news, I found out the Railway rifle is actually in New Vegas after all. Near Nellis, there's a set of train tracks that leads to a blocked off tunnel, like the subway doors in Fallout 3. There's a locked door that's set to Very Hard. If you unlock it, and go into the tunnel, then you find some ghouls to take care of, then towards the other end is a dead prospector holding the schematics. I don't see how it would shoot anything, though, since I haven't seen any rail spikes around anywhere. I don't think it's part of the FO3 weapons restoration mod since I don't have it activated and I haven't found any other weapons that aren't supposed to be in NV.
Then they could get it from the tunnel snakes outfit, couldn't they? EDIT: but then it wouldn't show up in NV unless the model was still in the NV files.....
Actually the meshes are seperate .nifs, although I think the textures might still be linked to the original armours. I was almost certain some stuff which isn't even in NV was included in Tailor Maid. I think I remember reading that they left the Rock-it launcher schematic in the game, but you couldn't actually use it as the weapon didn't exist. They might have cut them, or this might be a mod as mentioned.
It is one of the cut schematics still in the game files and is intact in the GECK, but it isn't present in the game without mods. Google reveals this list of Fallout 3 content which was cut from New Vegas but is still in the GECK: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Fallout:_New_Vegas_legacy_content Oh wait that says the Schematics aren't there but the gun itself is cut content. I knew I hadn't seen the Schematics with the others in the GECK.
I wonder what else the tunnel could be used for, or at least why it's locked off. the boomers would still be able to hit you there, and there isn't anything terribly interesting in or outside the tunnel.
I think it's supposed to be an alternate route to the Airbase? Even if it isn't, not everything has to have an express purpose. Like there were locations in Fallout 3 without even a map marker but they were unique and nice, like the Car Dealership.
The tunnel was just dumb. You pick a very hard lock, you go through a hoard of ghouls, You exit, you are clearly behind a hill, way out of sight of any "spotters" and yet the artillery rains. Really its just way easier to take the normal route and waltz through the artillery barrage. There's also a railway rifle schematic in Nellis AFB in one of the hangars. Looks like they had planned to have custom weapons but ripped them at the last second for some reason. The more weapons the merrier, they should have just included all of the fallout 3 weapons. Fallout 2 had all of the Fallout 1 weapons...

Legate Lanius is a massive fucking nutcase and Vulpes is creepy and delusional.
But despite all this, Legate Lanius and Vulpes Inculta almost make me want to work for them.
Vulpes has a very sexy voice :3:
I feel bad that I still don't have New Vegas. Not sure why I never bothered to pick it up, probably because I don't have any money whatsoever to spend. I might download Fallout 3 again and play it but.. eh.
Are you fucking kidding? Legate Lanius is a massive fucking nutcase and Vulpes is creepy and delusional.
maybe that's just his definition of 'visionary' his judgement can't exactly be considered sound considering he's never played half flife
I recently re-installed fallout 3 for the 5th time, want to reccomend any mods?
I recently re-installed fallout 3 for the 5th time, want to reccomend any mods?
Do DLC's count as a mod?
no offence nexus but I'd rather be playing new vegas than this
Do DLC's count as a mod?
I have all of them excluding Mothership Zeta and Point lookout.
I have all of them excluding Mothership Zeta and Point lookout.
Get them both, they're great.
Get Point Lookout, it's great.
Fixed that for you.
I agree, Mothership Zeta was fucking awful.
maybe that's just his definition of 'visionary' his judgement can't exactly be considered sound considering he's never played half flife
Exactly. The game doesn't really say Who is good and who is evil, that's left for the player to decide what's right and what's wrong. In my View I'm ok with the main Factions except for the NCR, They're so orderly and boring. Mr. House: A very charismatic person with a wonderful voice to listen to and a man with an honest vision of the future for mankind. Caeser: I like his philosophies and the way he based his Legion on the old Roman Empire. Very Charismatic. That and Vulpes :3: [editline]7th May 2011[/editline]
I agree, Mothership Zeta was fucking awful.
It wasn't That bad.
Mr. House: A very charismatic person with a wonderful voice to listen to and a man with an honest vision of the future for mankind.
I liked Mr. House at first, and while I agree that he had a good vision, something about the fact that [sp]he's actually a fucking CORPSE[/sp] made me not want to work with him.

Well mine looks like Clint Eastwood. And I've also made a Duke Nukem character in the past. Might load up the old saves and bump up the graphics to get some decent shots. [editline]8th May 2011[/editline] Also apparently there's a 10 year old girl with boobs and a woman with a goatee in the New Vegas sewers.
I want to side with the NCR, but if I'm reading correctly, they prefer the Enclave to the Brotherhood of Steel.
I agree, Mothership Zeta was fucking awful.
The only good that comes out of Mothership Zeta is the weapons. Just get it for the weapons.
Anyone recommend a good weather mod for new Vegas one that doesn't make the sky look terrible im talking to you Nevada skies...

That and Vulpes :3: [editline]7th May 2011[/editline] It wasn't That bad.
To be honest, I think the Legion fucked up. Denying medicine means loss of life to illness and injuries much more easily. Telling troops not to think for themselves could be wasted potential in some cases. The misogyny that they have means that they deny what could be a good soldier/leader because she's a woman, look at Lt Boyd and Colonel Moore, both high-ranking and both women. Telling soldiers not to rely on technology because it may break is an incredibly dumb idea. If you charge at someone with a machete and he has a rifle, you will die unless he is handicapped or asleep. All of that and murdering people who don't want a part of the Legion means that no one will really take appreciation to you. The Legion hasn't got any allies, and even when they got the Great Khans as allies, they decided to backstab them after they were done. That and Caesar's Legion was founded by taking over tribes. Of fucking course you're going to win a battle against tribals, they aren't exactly scholars. They don't know battle strategy or how to work firearms or how to use explosives. And the icing on top of the cake was that Caesar was a massive douche. 'lol i has preetarens dat will eet ur babeez adn kil ur wief if u talk down 2 me boi dun maek me do dat becas im powreful and mai penus is big' Yet he needs so much outside help. He reminds me of the Outcasts from Fallout 3.
The sexism and the total genocide civilians thing sort of kills the Legion for me. Though I do like how their heads pop off with the swing of a sword.
I don't understand why any human being with a heart would join the Legion. I know it's a game, but it still feels wrong to be a part of a group like the Legion.
