• Nintendo 3DS - It actually doesn't look terrible

Basically that means that trying to watch 3D material while on the road or such is not recommended. In the manner of games, I have to specifically say that even though it was rendered in real-time, I have a feeling that any possible 3DS Metal Gear games won't look quite like that tech demo. But it's just me. And I swear to fucking god, if Nintendo adds Krystal or unneccessary shit to Star Fox 64's remake that fucks it up, heads will be rolling. I'm not against any change for the game, i'm against them adding crap from the post-64 games that shouldn't be in 64.

It's not like you have a ton of meaningful character interaction outside of the 4 main and Star Wolf. Maybe replace Bill?...
Also. as im reading, it seems community users can make there own OS for the 3DS This does not really include 100% modification but more like starting screen.. boot screen, features... its gonna be awesome  Also: [img_thumb]http://ninten.tomline.nl/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/Nintendo_3D_Mario_by_NES__still_the_best.png[/img_thumb]
An OOT remake, I must be dreaming.

If i had to guess at a release/date, Id go somewhere around black friday (this or next year) and a sub-$200 price.

Also, semi related:
The difference would be negligible if games were to be loaded from in-built memory. There would be absolutely no point in adding this feature to "cut down on load times". Load times have never been a problem for cartridges. [editline]01:43AM[/editline]
while that is amazing and all, I remain skeptical, as that MGS shot is from what was basically an interactive cutscene, where you could move the camera and do not much else, whereas the PSP shot is from the actual game, and a full running game (especially one as complex as MGS) will require processing power for things like AI and all of that. Not an insult :) I just want to remain undecided until we see more of an actual game from MGS.

The installing games to DS seems like it would make piracy easier. [editline]01:59PM[/editline] Oh man, I hope they make games save on your DS.
The installing games to DS seems like it would make piracy easier. [editline]01:59PM[/editline] Oh man, I hope they make games save on your DS.
Something like Steam Cloud would be nice, if you have internet, you have your game saves
I'd rather these remakes be emulated so that I may play them at a good resolution myself. And with my usb connected n64 controller. But that's just me. Especially with Star Fox 64, I am expert at it and I would feel hindered using what they have for controls.
Something like Steam Cloud would be nice, if you have internet, you have your game saves
That would suck wince what if you have not internet connected? No game saves.
That would suck wince what if you have not internet connected? No game saves.
Local and online if possible like the steam cloud

They've done it to most of the Mario remakes for the DS, anyway. Peace Walker just looks that "bad" in and out of cutscenes(by comparison, still impressive for a handheld especially one that's been out for 5 years now)

Nintendo is almost certain to have used an off-the-shelf lenticular screen technology, already seen in several mobile phones and laptops. You can perceive 3D only if the console is directly in front of you, but this is fine for handheld gaming. I actually found it pretty adaptable in terms of viewing from different vertical positions. It was much more sensitive if the handheld was turned slightly to the left or right, but really, it coped perfectly with the slight shifts and jerks you'd get on a morning commute.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/gamesblog/2010/jun/15/nintendo-3ds-hands-on
Well, the cartridges have always had SRAM for saves, so it's possible that each cartridge could have protection to only allow it to be installed on a single device at a time. The card can remember if it's already been installed on a device, and if it's put into another 3DS then it will see this and won't allow it to be installed. This is just my idea though. It most likely won't be like this.
but what about used games? I think someone mentioned earlier, you might have to renew it every so often or something
but what about used games? I think someone mentioned earlier, you might have to renew it every so often or something
Well it's not like games companies particularly agree with the used games market.
Well it's not like games companies particularly agree with the used games market.
yeah I know, maybe they'll do that thing where you have to conect to the internet to download it to another DS and you have to pay 10 bucks like some other games are doing similar things
It was just a quick idea anyway. Just wanted to note that something like that would be possible. [editline]03:38PM[/editline] It's not like you still can't play the games; you just can't install them again. Used games would still work.
How many DSes are they going to make in this time span? [img_thumb]http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb246/Phycosymo/Prints_money.gif[/img_thumb] I'll buy it when I'm sure that they aren't going to release another within a short time span.
You know what? Who the fuck cares how many DSes they make? Nintendo makes good consoles and good games. [editline]08:51AM[/editline]
Lol, to cut load times? We're not dealing with discs here; game cartridges are solid state media.
Load times are almost non-existent on most Nintendo games.
You know what? Who the fuck cares how many DSes they make? Nintendo makes good consoles and good games.
He's saying that he doesn't want to buy 3DS and then realise a new version is coming out in a few months cause then he'd just be wasting money. I agree with him, and I agree with you about that nintendo keeps making good consoles and games.
I don't see why they'd have to release a new version soon after its release. It looks like it already has a shit-ton of features and the design is perfectly fine. I don't see how they could really improve it further. I mean, the multiple DS versions were basically design changes, except for the DSi which really only added a camera and a store from which you could download games.
LOL if this causes headaches like the 3D televisions, Nintendo are fucked XD
LOL if this causes headaches like the 3D televisions, Nintendo are fucked XD
You can turn the 3D off.
Fuck nintendo why they put final fantasy on the 3DS and not Golden Sun Golden sun is better than every Final Fantasy
[editline]01:43AM[/editline]
Sorry Sony... You've lost a fan.
Sorry Sony... You've lost a fan.
Why can't we all be fans of all the companies :)
