$150, actually
$150, actually
oh i think i was thinking of the ds lite then
I have a good feeling it will be around $250. Since the latest ds is $190.
I don't even care what the price is. I'm still buying it in a heartbeat.
My point is that they had the space for a right analog nub for less clunky gameplay but as with the PSP they decided to not put it in for some reason or the other
As one of the largest flaws of the PSP's control scheme you would expect as much as another major gaming company to notice that and fucking add a second analog stick so you can play things like FPSs / TPSs without having to resort to the ABXY buttons or attempting to hold the DS in one hand while using a stylus in the other
There's always going to be a problem with sticking a lot of buttons on a tiny box. I think nintendo at least managed to make it not very awkward to hold.

Yeah, what I hate about the PSP's nub is that it's too low and kills your thumb if you use it for extended periods of time. This looks like it'd be more comfortable.
If this is more than £150 then I won't be buying one.

Also this gold one looks pretty awesome.
The golden color reminds me of honey.
The old DS has a shit ton of games. The new 3DS is going to have a ton of games too.
Hopefully the 3DS won't have as much 5 second shovelware shit
Really? Not to be a dick but you sound a bit like a cheapskate, I would pay £150 happily for it considering the tech inside it.
I'm not saying it isn't worth £150, but I've got a PSP, and that does me fine for a handheld console, so I can't see myself buying this, unless it is really cheap, like £150 or less, in that case I would see it to be worth buying. Not sure if I really worded that right, basically I feel I don't really need one, but if it's cheap enough I see no reason not to pick one up.
i'll be buyin this with my own money
gonna be so cash
I've never had a DS, but I might get the 3DS. The graphics look great, and the lineup of potential games, including snakey awesomeness, would win me over.
I'll wait to see how powerful it is first.
Yeah the last hand held I owned was a GBA, I think this might tempt me to buy it with all it's awesome games :3:

For FPSes on the DS(specifically cod4 and cad5) you use the the touchscreen to aim, it takes a bit of getting used to but if you can play a fps with a mouse or a touchpad(laptop, more simiar) you won't have a problem controlling FPSes on the DS, once you get used to the controls it's pretty fun, the usual layout for FPS on DS is:
D-pad/ABXY is for movement (forward, backwards, strafe. usually both do the same so that you can use either hand
Touchpad is for aiming, reloading and other actions, like switch weapon, which require tapping a specific part of the screen. example: right side of touchscreen in cod 5 served for reloading and weapon switching. it's very similar to 'tap zones' on a laptop, but it's marked on the screen.
the triggers serve for firing typically, not much else to say
triggers are for firing

So yeah, I think FPSes work quite well on the DS already without need for a Analog stick
Here are some screens from the actual gameplay of MGS.

Looks about as good as I thought it would.
6. Classic Games
This was a demo that was not on the show floor proper, but you could experience it on a few Nintendo 3DS systems at Nintendo's booth. The idea: take existing 8 and 16 bit games from the NES and Super NES era and convert those pixel-perfect ports into games with depth. It was a neat idea and it worked for a majority of the games in the non-playable demo. Mega Man 2, for example, looked awesome with the 3D effect turned on. If you don't like the sprites being pulled out away from the background you could just slide the 3D control off and see the classic games normally.
And

Could potentially be a virtual console like for the 3ds. (I hope.) Or just some collection like carts.
Would be awesome if they made an original gameboy section to download original gameboy games. Like the old zelda handhelds.

what the hell looks like resident evil 5
Probably pre-rendered cut-scenes
Valve should look into porting hl2 dm into the 3ds. Like they can have the hud be in the bottom screen and since that the 3ds will now be able to support better graphics, I can't see why not port the game.
Probably pre-rendered cut-scenes
They're not pre-rendered, just high quality in-engine cutscenes, the scenes are completely modifiable, as in you can move the camera and everything. The games themselves only look slightly worse in gameplay.

I can't see why they SHOULD port the game.
I was playing Majora's Mask and Starfox 64 on my virtual console in excitement for the 3DS and I got reminded how low the N64 frame rate could get compared to today's standards.
Majora's mask was stuck at around 20 fps or so, and Starfox around 20 - 25. I'm glad that nintendo isn't straight up porting OoT and Starfox, because it would bug me playing them at 20 fps and then see that Kid Icarus game with way better graphics run smooth as butter

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
No, thats a bad idea, Hl2 doesn't belong on handhelds.
I already bought a fucking DSi when it came out, this is fucking retarded! I'll have to see if I can trade it in...

Mine got stolen the week after I got it.
Never had enough money to blow for another one.

Too bad it was just moving the camera around
Goddamit it would of been awesome for just a couple of seconds of action.

This appears to be what the 3DS does.
I don't even care about the 3D, it's just icing on what is the best handheld to date.
Every time I see the "Naked Sample" bit in the title of MGS3, I begin to get more and more worried it might not be a full fledged game and instead just a tech demo like what they showed at E3
Mario kart 3ds? That's cool.
Do you guys remember what they did with the Wii. They showed a bunch of colors that ended up not coming out except for white and black.
They will most likely release one color :(
