Yeah it is backwards compatible with DS games.
Paper Mario looks so fun on the 3DS. Does anyone know if it will be a remake of the N64 game or a new one?
I heard it's a new one.
I still have my block ds, never got the lite or dsi, might get this though
Ditto. The 3DS actually looks interesting compared to the previous generations.
I've never had a DS, or a Gameboy, but I'm seriously considering to buy a 3DS
Been a major Nintendo Handheld fan since Wario Land and Battletoads on the GAME BOY.
Now what am I going to do with my DSi? I feel like a dick for barely playing with it. I made such a big deal about getting one.
The OOT thing is pretty much proven wrong in the comments of that post, one of the reasons being that it's now in the announced titles section of the 3DS E3 website.
Oh hey, whaddya know, it is. Well, my mistake then, looks like it's actually a real title. Hurray!
Man amidst all of these awesome games I totally forgot it can take 3D pictures and play 3D movies. That shit is awesome.

That looks like a fucking PORT FROM THE WII! :woop:
Does Nintendo have a Virtual Store for GameBoy advance games and Gameboy games? All they need is add that to the 3DS, and I'll buy it the day it comes out.
I hope so. A GAME BOY section in the 3ds store would be amazing.
Would be crazy if they added all the virtual console content to the 3ds.
so how much is this thing gunna cost?
These graphics are amazing. The better the hardware the more gameplay and awesomeness to be honest.I can't fucking wait.I always checked the nintendo handheld games and the variety was awesome.Imagine how many future games we will see for this console. Also MGS looks amazing.
yeah, the 3d picture thing sounds really cool too, and while I think Nintendo is doing a crap job with their consoles now, I still love their handhelds, but I must say the amount of DS remakes is getting a little ridiculous
I noticed that in MGS the graphics are amazing but in some other games the graphics are meh.....
Maybe because their in beta stages?
Are the actual technical specs out yet?
that's a good question.
Are the actual technical specs out yet?
on the press site I think.
so its actually going to be called the 3ds?
also do want the red color, it matches my DS
also want paper mario and star fox
so how much is this thing gunna cost?
Nobody knows that, or the release date.
My point is that they had the space for a right analog nub for less clunky gameplay but as with the PSP they decided to not put it in for some reason or the other
As one of the largest flaws of the PSP's control scheme you would expect as much as another major gaming company to notice that and fucking add a second analog stick so you can play things like FPSs / TPSs without having to resort to the ABXY buttons or attempting to hold the DS in one hand while using a stylus in the other
In all fairness, the places circled for the right analog stick have components under them which wouldn't allow them to add another one.
If they were it would increase the size of the device. Someone is always overlooking these types of specifications and making sure the devices fall within the standards that they have set.

With all these things going into it I think I read it's only .1 ounce heavier than the ds light.
We do know from a document that's on Nintendo's website that it will be released in Japan before March 2011.
I'd guess some time next year for the rest of us.
They usually do it a season ahead of everyone else.
Guess I'm trading both DSi XLs in for two of these fuckers. Looks like nintendo got off their arse for once with this.

Hadn't heard that. Thanks.

If Nintendo releases it like they've released most of their past 2 consoles it'll be this holiday season. The DS was announced at E3 2004, released December 2004. The Wii was announced at E3 2006, released November 2006.

They better. I really doubt it, considering they said the current design isn't final and it will most likely be released in Japan months before we see it in North America.

That was the same thing with the DS. Here's a pic of the DS shown at E3 2004:

My god, Corneria looks amazing in that first picture. I'm definitely getting this thing first day.
Here's hoping for a new Super Smash Bros, Metroid Prime, or Pikmin.
OH MY GOD CHOCOBO RACING!!!!
(...it really sucks that Rare owns Jet Force Gemini)
