That was the same thing with the DS. Here's a pic of the DS shown at E3 2004:

Dang, well that raises my hopes even higher of it releasing soon
If it is released around Holiday 2010, then I'll be super excited. I never thought I'd be able to play Starfox 64, OoT, or MGS3 at school or on the pot :v:
November 2011, calling it.
Most sites say between June 2010 - March 2011.
I doubt it would be as far away as November 2011..
-at least I hope it's not! :ohdear:

Nintendo, revolutionizing our bowel movements since 1989!
...for Japan.
With the original ds there was a holiday to march difference I believe.
I have a feeling it may not take too long.
this actually looks awesome woah
If you guys think the graphics are good now then wait until developers start optimizing their game engines.
...for Japan.
I'm sorry, but most system/console releases are simultaneous around the world.
Or at least within the same month. The first version of the DS actually came out in the US before it did in Japan.
Seeing as this is an actual new handheld, unlike the resized DSi's, it will most likely release world-wide within the same month.
So no, it will not be released months earlier for Japan only.
:colbert:

Yep.
These look amazing for launch titles.
The Virtual boy didnt need glasses.
The Virtual boy didnt need glasses.
they were glasses.
with a stand
The Virtual boy didnt need glasses.
The Virtual Boy also gave people seizures and the 3DS doesn't, so...
Needs moat SSB.

I remember one of the main arguments about why Nintendo didn't release a Smash Bros. on the regular DS is because it would have been too awkward to play with a d-pad and not with an analog stick.
Now that we DO have an analog stick, they better fuckin bring back either SSB 64 or a new Smash Bros. for the 3DS, or there will be blood
holy fuck Star Fox for DS

This along with Ocarina of Time, KH maybe, Chaos Theory, and MGS. Holy shit Nintendo I'm sold.
Im a huge Xbox/sony/Pc fan
I will prolly buy this only to play Old school N64 games on it or only because of Legend of Zelda OoT
Well all nintendo system that were annouced at e3 in the past few years camed out in november
04 e3 the ds was annouced and it was released in november 0 4
the wii was announced 06 e3 released in november 06
so this one would prbably be released in nov 10
whoa OOT
I'm going to buy it
When I had a N64 I was too young to play Zelda. It was too complicated for me at the time I bet, or I just didn't know about it. All I played was mario kart, the banjo kazooie games, star fox, pokemon stadium, and a few others I can't remember. Hell I never even played goldeneye shame on me. I really want to go back and get a N64 to play those. I don't want a 3DS to be my excuse out of it.
Is the Ocarina of Time the exact same game but on the DS?
[editline]09:12PM[/editline]
damn I'm only 17 (18 in roughly 2-3 months) and I feel old. damn you nintendo!
I think I am beginning to like Nintendo again, not only are they releasing Zelda: OOT and MGS: Snake Eater but also Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory and the original Ghost Recon which are like the best of their series.
Not getting it, I stopped buying after the Lite, since I just wanted
better color in the system.

Aonuma, the guy who's working on everything Zelda right now, said he didn't want OoT for the 3DS to be a straight up port with better graphics. He said he wanted to add gameplay elements and stuff that take advantage of the 3D and new technologies the 3DS has to offer.
Ah, please no. Just leave OoT the classic game that it is. Don't fuck with amazing games from the past.

That's stupid
That's stupid
Well OoT got 10/10 on many sites, why add to an already almost perfect game.
IGN: I think one of the big surprises at the show was the 3DS. We knew the new Wii Zelda was happening -- you showed some artwork for it last year. But the 3DS showing Ocarina of Time 3D, that was a big surprise. I think it excited people. I was wondering if you could talk about some of the ideas you have. Not just adding depth, but some of the gameplay elements we might see. Will it be a direct port, or an enhanced game?
Aonuma: We've talked about remixing Ocarina of Time for a long time, saying "should we remake Ocarina of Time for Wii?" And, to be honest, I said no. I didn't want to just re-release it on a different platform -- I wanted to have a specific reason to remake Ocarina of Time. I didn't want to just make a port. And so I was waiting for something to come along that would not only help us to retell the story, but improve upon it. Making it different, more unique in its own way. Now, with 3D, we're able to take the environments of Hyrule and add depth -- giving them a more expansive feeling, a more immersive feeling. In addition to that, now that we have the 3D we can looking forward to new ways to implement 3D into the gameplay and make it fresh and new. And we also have the motion sensors that are built-in to the Nintendo 3DS. So we're looking at quite a few ways to make the gameplay more immersive, more natural, more accessible. So again, not just a port -- but a retelling of the tale using new technologies to reinvent it.
Did you even read the spoiler tag?
He was complaining about the 3DS sharing the horrible design flaw that the PSP had which was a lack of a second nub, not that Nintendo was somehow copying the PSP.
I still don't get what Nintendo were thinking when they designed the DS brick :v: Not that looks are everything but you know

I do believe the touch screen could be a handy replacement, though I will agree that it is unlikely that would work.
