That's just arcade servers, since everyone stacks Bf-109 or Spits, or FW's and they require no skill, and they have godly firepower.
Don't forget the most overpowered and most used plane in the game, the LA-7 3xBsomething.
Is there some sort of application to view a list of servers? I'd like to play multiplayer, but I can only do so if I know the server's IP address. I've been turning off vulnerability, turning on unlimited ammo, and have been practicing shooting AA guns and enemy ground units. Great fun, very hard to go attack bases though. You have to go in slow enough to hit the ground targets, but fast enough so you don't stall.
That's just arcade servers, since everyone stacks Bf-109 or Spits, or FW's and they require no skill, and they have godly firepower.
The reason why Spits and La-7s and the like are good in those types of servers is because everyone is usually turning like crazy at low altitude where those planes excel. That makes them easy targets for a FW or something flying at higher altitude.
Easy targets? Yea if you know how to shoot really accurately, when your view of their plane is blocked by the cockpit, otherwise your altitude advantage isn't very helpful.
With a 190 you can pretty much spray in front of people and get kills, and even if you miss the first pass you can climb back up and repeat it.
God I've never been into flight sims but this looks really cool. Any tips on getting started? And is a joystick absolutely necessary in enjoying the game? I'd really rather not go out and buy a joystick for the sole purpose of playing one game.

You could try the game without one, and then if you like it, invest in a joystick, a cheap one if you don't have much money on you.

[editline]05:48PM[/editline] Also, one day I was doint an open mission with some guys to attack a fleet in B-25's with 25% fuel. Turns out that someone didn't set their bomb delay to 3.0 seconds, and caused us all to leak fuel when the bombs hit the ship. We didn't take anything down, I had to land in the water from leaking out all of my fuel, and setting fire, and the others were shot down by Zero's.
I do I get Hyperlobby to work with steam?
I do I get Hyperlobby to work with steam?
Try installing it in the install path of your IL2 Sturmovik 1946. If not, then I don't know what else to tell you.
Also is there anyway to get some damn anti-aliasing? It hurts my eyes!
Also is there anyway to get some damn anti-aliasing? It hurts my eyes!
Higher resolution solves that problem, Since i had my huge-o-screen i only use No or 2x MSAA
I'm doing a campaign, and I finished the mission, landed, it said "mission complete" then, what? Nothing happens, I just sit on the runway.
Also is there anyway to get some damn anti-aliasing? It hurts my eyes!
Set it in the global part of your graphics card menu. :D

You know, flying won't save you.
Hehe, I took the pics for that skin :O
Hehe, I took the pics for that skin :O
Yeah, and I had to ask for new ones 3 times 'cause you botched em up!
You know, flying won't save you.
Blue spy? I still cannot get 4.08m to install properly on Windows 7, so I cannot play multiplayer. Does anyone know a work around?
Not as far as I know. I bought it on steam, so I got the updates automatically. If you have another pc with another OS, you could try installing il-2 on that, updating it on that, and then copying the game across.
Blue spy? I still cannot get 4.08m to install properly on Windows 7, so I cannot play multiplayer. Does anyone know a work around?
What do you mean blue spy? That is clearly the red sniper!
I was going to host, but IL-2 doesn't want to load. D:
What do you mean blue spy? That is clearly the red sniper!
I did a blu engie too, but didn't save the ingame pic.
Meh, I got bored of the horrible table's based flight model and went back to Battleground Europe's physics based model.
I fixed my IL-2. :D
Then host god damnit
I'll be getting this game in a few hours.
Have you ever gotten AAA and wondered, "WHERE THE HELL IS MY HE-111ZWILLING?!" Well now you can wonder no more! Thanks to TicTac! http://www.mediafire.com/?lmyjyumtz2n Just put the folder in your MODS folder.
Chicken Noodles: oh my god Chicken Noodles: i lvoe you
Another happy customer.
