I have used a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro for a couple years now and it's a great cheap joystick. I would go with that if I was you.

I basically have the same, the freedom 2.4. But cordless :v:
My suggestion is we host a game of 1946 today, agreed?

do not get logitech force 3d pro
its worse than extreme 3d pro.
I have had both.
So, I got Cliffs of Dover, had no idea what I was getting into really, but I like it. Problem is I find it so unsmooth to control with my keyboard. Should I get a 360 controller or a joystick, in case a joystick which one, and also, should I buy 1946 from steam, is it better to start with than Cliffs of Dover?
Sorry for all the questions, but this series looks awesome and I'd love to get into it.
if your lucky you can get a saitek x45 cheap on ebay
I use an Extreme 3D Pro as well, and have recommended it to three other players, none of which have had problems with it. It's a great budget stick that has everything you could ask for in a joystick.
Saitek ST290 Pro represent wut wut
Saitek X-52. That is all.
how's the grip on the x-52? it looks so uncomfortable
everyone is always "oh get the x-52" but wow it just looks so dumb and uncomfortable.
i'm pumped. bought the warthog hotas the other day and it was probably the stupidest decision i've ever made. no time for games any more and my ch sticks work fine enough in a-10 (the only game i play that really needs all of the buttons)
anybody wanting to buy CH fighterstick/pro throttle combined together for the price of one, hit me up. the boxes are huge and i can't stand having extra gear around i'm not going to use (although i use the pro rudders almost daily)
X-52 is pretty good, just some parts about it aren't all that great like the distance from thumb-rest on grip to top of stick with all the buttons (then again I have small hands), and the pinkie button on the bottom doesn't work every so often. It is a great stick otherwise and you should get it if you have the money.
I love the feel of the x52. What I hate is how loose the spring is. It's why I've already changed it to offer more resistance.
After that change (as well as dimming the LEDs in the control panel), I love it.
This is why importing shit here is easier, faster and cheaper.
But goddamnit Estonia isn't a third world hole, why do games MAGICALLY get 20 euros added to their price?
BTW you can still get the popular games like within a week.
Games here get magically 20 added to them because the importer here holds a monopoly.
Sure you can get popular ones but the obscure and the often good ones get here helllot later.
the x-52 is ok for the price, it has centring issues that saitek havnt bothered to fix (infact there last x-52 driver is very old) it atleat has enough buttons for a complicated sim like a-10c.
imo buying anything other than a thrustmaster warthog now is a bad choice while they had/have a issue with throttle units bricking they actually support there hardware unlike saitek and the warthog has features not found on any other hotas controller (example mechanical switches whose position can be read and set in game during sim startup)
if you do have a cheaper controller like the x52 dont forget the axis tune option. CoD calls it finetune or something like that, not sure if the original IL-2 even has it but i dont have the latest patch installed
Does anyone want to play? I reinstalled the game and all the mods and stuff again but nobody wants to play
Does anyone want to play? I reinstalled the game and all the mods and stuff again but nobody wants to play
Hsfx 5.1? might be playing coop in 40 mins or so
aka spam 2nd47 on steam with messages to play il-2
nope
That usually works. I'll probably be up for this weekend since I have so much shit to do during the week.
Just got home from town, bought the Logitech 3D Extreme Pro joystick, gonna try it out now! :buddy:

I can help. Is it for 1946 or CloD?
Ok so what kind of bullshit is this. July 19th is the new release date for Cliffs of Dover here in the US. WHY IS IT DELAYED BY ALMOST 4 MONTHS?

yeah seriously fuck this
it's a good thing i made a vow to never buy it anyways after they fucked us over in may
the new DCS title will be out before this is. that's where my money's going to. I already bought A-10 twice.
Speaking of Cliffs of Dover, has there been any word on the Korean War flight sim using the same engine?

What is the new DCS? Apache?
What is the new DCS? Apache?
i doubt there's going to be a DCS title that requires more than one person to operate an aircraft. it would be too much of a hassle and/or would have to pretty much be an coop-exclusive title
i don't know if the new aircraft has been officially claimed. i do know, though, that the devs stated that "it's going to be a US fixed-wing aircraft" and everybody is thinking it's going to be a fighter jet
eagle dynamics already know what's going on with fighter jets seeing as lock on has been around since forever
Can't wait. My dream would be F-14, but yeah that's a two person aircraft.
F-22 would be sweet, but I think it'd be F-16.
Guess what - a game is happening right now.
Be there or be []

I was in those forums for a while, before A-10C went live, and the interview said that it would be a 'well-requested US fixed-wing' and in the 'Future DCS wishlist' forum at that time was mostly about the F-16 and the F-18.
Just finished a coop mission involving all nations in il-2

My advice is:
-MG on the trigger
-Cannons on the thumb button
-Rockets and bombs on the bottom two face buttons
-Normal view and zoom view on the top two face buttons
Then whatever you like on the base buttons. This makes all your fire controls accessible to your thumb, as well as the zoom controls, which you will use for pretty much any fire over 250m. Also, learn to use your hat- I recommend using the pan mode instead of snap mode, as it makes it easier to keep track of planes, but that often comes down to personal preference.

I use basically this, but I've got the bomb bay door toggle on button 5 (top left face).
As far as the base ones, i've got flaps up and down on 9 and 11 respectively, engine on 12, and extinguishers on 8(since they're fucking useless)
