I use basically this, but I've got the bomb bay door toggle on button 5 (top left face).
As far as the base ones, i've got flaps up and down on 9 and 11 respectively, engine on 12, and extinguishers on 8(since they're fucking useless)
Engine on 12 isn't a bad idea, but I tend to just use 'I' since with multi-engine craft I have to be turning them on and off using my number keys anyways. Landing gear might be a good candidate for the joystick. TBH I don't really use the base buttons much at all, since they're pretty much like having six more keyboard keys far away from the others.

Oh god can someone help me configurate this?
This is what I have:
- Machine gun on the trigger
- Cannons on the thumb button
- Bombs and rockets on 3, 4 respectively
- Flaps down / up on 5, 6 respectively
- Gear on 11
- Arresting hook on 12
- Chocks on 9
- Canopy open on 10
- Air break on 7
- Breaks on 8
- Level stabilizer on the top POV of the hatswitch, and lock tail wheel on the bottom one.q
I don't require camera because I have TrackIR, but you should try out different control maps till you find one you like.
Do you use the keyboard controls for zoom, or is your TrackIR configured to zoom when you lean in?
Speaking of Cliffs of Dover, has there been any word on the Korean War flight sim using the same engine?
Last time I checked, they said the development of it had completely stopped.

Damn, I really wanted to see a successor to the 1950s jet goodness of MiG Alley.

Alright people, me and Profan are organizing a game tonight, but there have been some updates.
First of all, the game has updated to v4.10.1m, and Steam does not update it by itself.
Second of all, HSFX is at 5.0 and it has a hotfix for some bugs.
4.10: http://dlh.net/cgi-bin/dlp.cgi?lang=&sys=pc&file=il2_410.zip&ref=ps
4.10.1: http://dlh.net/cgi-bin/dlp.cgi?lang=eng&sys=pc&file=il2_410_1.zip&ref=ps
HSFX 5.0: http://www.242sqn.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2544
HSFX 5.0 Hotfix 1: http://www.242sqn.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2567
We have no specific time organized, but it'll probably be later tonight.
