Steam keeps updating this and it's annoying because I have 4.09b and the community pack installed. I have to keep selecting 'Do not automatically update my game' and it keeps resetting back to 'Keep this game up to date' :\

I think the next PC IL-2 is called called Storm of War, but that's months away. For now, the consoles get Birds of Prey.

Can someone make a list of graphic mods? There are tons of them, just want a lil list of the "must have's"

Just got 1946 through Steam and Birds of Prey about 2 weeks ago. Birds of Prey just feels like a child's toy meets modern video game cliches (brown, brown, brown, everywhere you look) after playing 1946, so I quickly got tired of it. My dad likes it though, so eh fuggit. I've been concentrating on 1946 instead which has proven to be a lot of fun. This was actually my first go at flight sims, bought an X52 just for this. I'm quite happy with it so far, just at the moment my X52's gone tits up. So I guess I've now gotta send it in for a replacement. So no killing nazis/commies/japs/french for me. :(

Bump. Does anyone know how to enable these "Perfect" Settings? And what are some must have graphic mods? EG. Hi-res world textures and new water shaders.

Open your ATi/nVidia control panel and set the settings from there.

for some reason i just came around to buying IL2 off of steam, and i found out how to fly and shit really easily with a keyboard, i just suck at landing also, anyone know how to take screenshots in this game? i was using print screen but it came out black
