I got that one. I guess I don't need the skins much but i would like them.
I just gifted this game to two friends
Give this man <3's
I bought this game about a week back, assuming i would be able to fly with a keyboard. I proved myself horribly wrong. Today I installed my 360 controller onto my PC(vista) but I have no idea how to use the controller on the pc itself. I read that some other people use a 360 controller for the game, so i was hoping someone might be able to help me out with configuring the controller
This game intimidates me so much. I remember I bought it on steam, downloaded it, got to the menu, and said fuck it.

It did at first but once you get used to it it's quite fun. I don't really like single player much though because it gives me that feeling of isolation. I also have almost no problem flying with the keyboard. It has enough keys to have all the commands I want but it lacks pressure sensitivity.
I still have problems getting behind enemy players. Any tips? I mainly use the Yak-3P, and the Hellcat.

I want to buy an X52 Saitek to play but I'm afraid that after I play the game, that I'll be dissapointed. I have huge buyers remorse by the way. For some reason I don't regret buying this game though. I get a hell of a deal on it.
Do you have an xbox 360 controller that you can connect to the PC? I was thinking of getting a joystick with force feedback. I would get the Saitek X52 if I had the money, but I don't.
I have a wireless controller but not the wired one.
Me neither.
I'm good enough at this game that I can take off, land, and go in the enemy's general direction using the small shitty map of your airbase but bad enough that I get my ass handed to me every single time
I have like 0 kills

Also don't get an X52 it's what I have and you'll end up always not using it I should have gotten a G25
somewhat related;
just got back into playing Battleground Europe. :D
OP, it isn't the most realistic simulator ever made. Not even close to the ones pilots train in. I got to fly one a while ago. Problems range from the front gear doors are broken, to failed hydraulics, to fires in the cargo bay, and so much more. I've got IL2 and its not nearly as realistic as that for sure. It is somewhat realistic, but not really near to that.

You're in a cockpit, made to look like a real one. (hardware, not a virtual cockpit, durr).
they look like this outside.

yea that had an interesting thing like that on the Lexington when I went for a field trip back in elementary. Had to pay for it as I recall, so I didn't go on. I am still unable to use my 360 controller on my PC if anyone knows of any way to help me out with that.

I'm sorry we all can't afford a 50k$+ machine.
either way, I love how IL2 simulates going through the clouds.
I had IL2 bought on separate steam account (so bro could play it when I would play some other steam game like half life, and vice versa), and I lost my name and password. I went through all my e-mails, and didn't find any activation/confirmation emails from steam - none were there.
The strangest thing is that I found all names that were used to log on Steam in one file in Steam folders, and there was one I was almost sure that was the right one, and Steam just said no account of this name exists, even when I tried to resend my password it it. It fucking blows.

But all these simulations only limit to blink with "SOMETHING FUCKED UP" lights on panels, and don't actually simulate anything.

Sounds like you've never been in one.
I am going to give this game a try later. Just got home and I am exhausted.
Maybe I will buy this game for K00lwhip and we can learn together and then have air battles.
Wow. This game is hard.
There is quite a learning curve.
There is quite a learning curve.
Hell yes there is. I thought it was going to be fun based on the Il-2 tutorial. No.
I crashed about ten times before taking off, then quit the game.
