Some planes climb better than others. Having the height advantage at the start of the dogfight is extremely important, if he can dive on you before you can dive on him, your chances of survival go down a lot.

Multiplayers ridiculously hard if you're new like me, but it was great when I just took off, flew north, peeled in behind a German fighter and tore his wings off with my cannons.
Got an insane kill yesterday in a P40. I saw a german fighter flying to the right from me (a T formation, with "I" being my direction and the "_" being his direction) just at the max range of my MGs, aimed at his plane a bit and fired a short burst which lasted for a second (I was stalling as he was higher than me, so I could only fire a bit before my plane's nose dipped down). The next thing I realize, his engine is puffing out thick smoke and a few seconds later it bursts to flames and explodes.
Load up the Pe-8's with the FAB-5000 bombs and go shooting those planes up with something with a high caliber canon. When you hit the bomb bay on those you know for sure.

I got a kill like something out of an indiana jones movie!
I was being chased, and I was out of ammo, so I flew really low, between a number of trees, about 2m from the ground, and my plane was more stable in high winds than the other one, and he got blown into the trees, exploding epicly.

i had the same problem. Make sure you didn't accidentally copy the space after the auth code.

Get a joystick and you'll notice a sudden leap in skill. But you evaded me nicely there, I fired a couple of bursts which missed before I finally hit your wing with a 30mm cannon burst.

4.09 is a beta patch
Problem is 4.09 was released in 2008, and they haven't made it "official" yet, so the community is divided between 4.09 and 4.08

You can switch between them with a .bat file after you install AAA.
Out of curiosity, is it possible for two players to fly the same plane in a multiplayer match?
