What IS the Facepunch server, Orkel? 2nd47s server?
I swear, everytime I ask for help I get completely ignored. I just want to fly!

You aren't the only one...
I'm annoyed because 2nd47 is too stubborn to upgrade to UI 1.2 so people with 1.2 who want to play have to downgrade to 1.1, which is frustrating because you have to start from scratch to downgrade.
You are the only one with 1.2, everyone shouldn't have to accommodate to your needs, you should accommodate to the majority (or how we've pretty much played every time).
On top of that, but I don't want to download an experimental version of the Unified Installer, when it becomes fully stable and becomes halfway popular I might get it.
What IS the Facepunch server, Orkel? 2nd47s server?
Orkel plays on Skies of Fire (or War, I can't remember) and I host the group's dedicated server.
Wait what? Everyone plays 1.1?!!?
WHY DIDN'T SOMEONE TELL ME?
What does Skies of fire play? 1.1 or 1.2
Why 1.1 instead of 1.2?
How do you downpatch from 1.2 through steam?
They mean the versions of the AAA mod
I'm not installing AAA mod yet until I actually need it. Right now i'm happy with the small amount of planes I get.
Also, guys, for help, just watch the damn tutorials. All you really need is the tutorial for taking off and the tutorial for landing. Then you're set. Done. The rest you learn yourself, or, again, look at the tutorials for bombing tutorials.
Can you fly the B-17/B-24/B-29/PBY/HE-111 or any other large aircraft, or is it just a freaking fighter sim.

HE-111 is in default game, all others are in AAA mod.
-snip, actually read the first page (excluding the OP) for once-

It's got fighters, bombers, paratrooper/cargo planes, gliders, biplanes, and all sorts of things (thank AAA for 1/3 of it).
I'm installing 1946 as I type this, looking forward to getting back in the cockpit of a WW2 fighter. It's been ages. and I'm going to be on the server and let me tell you all something, None of you will touch me
I'll be too busy avoiding trees and flat spinning uncontrollably

Skills to pay the bills. Hospital Bills
Well I finally got multilayer working. Anyway to view your score? I may or may not have shot someone down
I think I only got shot down twice, all the other times I stalled myself while trying to evade or bailed out
Hold S for scoreboard.
Posted this in technical support too.
"Problems a bit odd and irritating. When I played Il-2 Sturmovik 1946, the game would occasionally, once maybe ever hour or two, crash to desktop and I'd get the error in the title. Screen would go black, then do that. Then I installed the AAA plane pack, and now it crashes every other flight. Every five minutes, it gives me that error. Before it was annoying but tolerable, now it's unplayable. I installed new drivers, but I can't see if they work right now (not got access at the moment). If it wouldn't, are there any other solutions to this problem?"
It's really pissing me off :<
Anyone know how to make a private game? I don't want to download the dedicated server...
A joystick with force feedback is awesome, I use one myself, for years now.
I miss my Sidewinder Force Feedback 2.
11 years later, and nothing has come out that is better.

Joysticks are like cars, we find that one we like and no matter what we keep going back to it
I still use my Saitek Cyborg 3D Gold that I got back when CFS1 was popular

Sure it's got dust in the cracks, the hand rest broke and the throttle's little handle thing broke off, and it's a completely different shade of gold, But It's perfect. It doesn't take A weight lifter to push it forward, you don't need suction cups or mounts... It's great, and goes together well with the X45's throttle quadrant (I just leave the X45 stick on the floor) it's too clunky, if it ever breaks, I'll be getting another one. The amount of Flight Sim miles I put on this thing is probably enough to reach Mars, Ok maybe not that far, But it's in the 2 Million range, Red Baron 3D, CFS, Flight simulator 98, 2002, 2004, CFS2, IL2, And that's not counting space sims like X3 and Orbiter
Except if Ihad an 11 year old car, I would probably be looking for something new, instead of trying to find another old one.
Too bad Microsoft gave up on the combat flight simulator series, a CFS4 would be great.

I agree, as long as they did it the way they did CFS 1 and 2, I hated number three, it was just... Horrible I thought
Playing CFS on The Zone way back in the day was great fun, every now and then someone would hop in with a Tie Fighter or some shit and just own everything, but other than that, good fun
Too bad Microsoft gave up on the combat flight simulator series, a CFS4 would be great.
What was CFS3 like?
I only had 1/2.
I only had 2 and 3, but I didn't really find CFS3 much different than 2, except for the singleplayer campaign, and the removal of the ability to add planes from FS2000, and custom planes.
CFs3 was poorly optimized, and instead of the nice 2D detailed cockpits you had these horribly ugly virtual cockpits . Which is a step forward, but it was done so bad it was two steps backwards
CFS2:

CFS3:

I'm sure with Track IR it would be Okay, but Default view and the FOV position was just poor, tracers were ugly Balls instead of tracers... I just find CFS2 far superior. Now IL2 smacks all three to shame (Well ok Maybe not the first one) Great Virtual Cockpits, great flight models, excellent visuals... It's the WW2 Flight sim standard and I don't see that changing any time soon. I only wish they'd make an MMO out of it without changing the game, or atleast add an in-game lobby
I'm going to Skies of Fire in a bit. Anybody want to join?

I will later, Steam is downloading 1946 extremely slow, only at 43%
can't wait to jump into the cockpit of my ol' Fockerwulf
I remember that time we took 2 TPB's with the 2 planes under each wing on both of em and then dogfought using the guns on the fighters.
It was cool until the other TPB stalled and fell down onto my TPB, killing us both.
Damn, we gotta get that FP server back up.

That's how real men take down bombers.

Oh god, I tried to take off but it just propelled my plane slowly forward :) The Nomad is a great plane, and bombsights are complete bullshit.

Oh my god, do not get me started on my X52 Pro XD This thing is the best fucking thing I've ever had in terms of joysticks.
