Jolly, and do you guys use AAA, because if you do I'll probably break my IL-2 again. :saddowns:
AAA is optional.

Heres the install process for STEAM IL-2 and AAA 1.1.
Install IL-2
DL AAA
Extract AAA into IL-2 folder
Run the batch file for 4.08 IL-2
Done.
Amirite?
When you install AAA, you have to install 4.08m first.
It's more like this.
Install IL-2
DL & Install 4.08m
DL AAA
Put all files in an folder (Do not unzip)
Run the exe (It autoinstalls(Make sure it goes to the right IL-2 directory))
Run the batch file for 4.08m IL-2
Done

I shall do that then, but.. since you said it's optional, does that mean that the server doesn't use it? And I assume that I can play on non-AAA servers even though I have it?
I get this when I join a server:

By the way, I have the ip but how do I join the FP server?
Means it's full. Just put your mouse over Join, then click, and if it gives that error, press enter to close it. Rinse and repeat. Should get in sometime.

Yeah it's full, keep retrying and you'll get in sooner or later.

I don't understand why people think its so hard to learn to take off, I got it the first time....
Should I get AAA 1.1 or 1.2 and is there a major difference between 4.08m and 4.09 and which one should I get?

I got this error when I tried to join the server.
Kyle, it is somewhat difficult to learn how to take off. If I were to try and learn myself, I wouldn't put my flaps down, and I wouldn't throttle up my engine whilst at a brake. I'd probably go along and slowly rev it up whilst moving, this would always end up with me losing control or just not getting off the ground.
Proper way to take off is:
1) Engine on
2) Flaps down
3) Tail locked (optional, I prefer it, keeps me straight)
4) Taxi onto the runway and align yourself properly, you may need to unlock the tail wheel to do this
5) Throttle down to 0%
6) Hold brakes and slowly throttle up to 100-110%, you should throttle up slowly so it's constantly revving
7) Once at max throttle, let go of the brake and take off when you're around 160km/h (around 200km/h for bombers)
8) Slowly pull up, then raise flaps and gear and unlock tail
Nicely done, you're in the air.
If I didn't know that, like I said, i'd just taxi onto the runway and carry on going, I wouldn't do all that.
is the 4.08m patch needed for steam IL-2?
This game looks helluva lot fun. If it wasn't for that my Joystick broke, i'd ask someone to get it for me. Though i got a wireless 360 controller, any ideas how to link it up to my pc?
Blarg hit some guy in a parachute, it tore off my wing :(
Arg I keep getting timeouts when connecting to the server.

Like many people are doing wrong because TicTac has yet to update the server information:
THE SERVER IP IS 64.231.72.171:20011 NOT, I REPEAT, NOT 64.231.72.171:21000
Thats 2nd's server, not TicTacs.
I am sure a few people here would agree I was the best pilot today.

I meant, people are getting the port of my server wrong because it's not updated.
TicTac doesn't even have a server :\

You are quite good at maneuvering but not against HellSoldier.

HE FUCKING SHOT HEAT SEEKING MISSILES AT ME! It's not easy to get away.
I just left. I was FP.
Whose idea was it to put a big black bar in the middle of your view when flying some version of the 262(?)
AteBit, how do you equip heat seeking missiles? Most planes have shitty rockets that dont aim.
To be honest, I find it annoying that people with the AAA mod pack get such better airplanes. I find it impossible to climb at like 20 meters a second to catch up with them in my Spitfire. I can never keep up because I end up stalling. So, does the AAA mod have all these heat seeking missiles and awesome planes or what?

Well when it was me and you I would always kill you :P Seeing as you try more to dodge shots than shoot down other planes it would be only a matter of time (even without the help of guided missiles :P).

There is no such thing as a "heat-seaking" missile in IL-2. The only missile that comes close is that of a guided missile, otherwise known as an X-4 missile. To use one simply fire and use bombsight/gunsight controls to adjust the missile to the direction you want it to go.
AAA adds many planes, most of which are balanced (fucking indestructible H8K), but none of them solve your problem seeing as the Spitfire has shit all for maneuverability to begin with.
Alright, you sound slightly professional. Could you tell me which planes are slightly noob friendly (i'm not really a noob anymore) yet still kick ass? I'm alright at aiming, the main thing that gets me is the fact that the planes I fly are shitty, slow, and are hardly the most agile of the lot.
Spitfire was my first plane.
