Alright, you sound slightly professional. Could you tell me which planes are slightly noob friendly (i'm not really a noob anymore) yet still kick ass? I'm alright at aiming, the main thing that gets me is the fact that the planes I fly are shitty, slow, and are hardly the most agile of the lot.
I think spitfire is as noob friendly as you can get.
You could give the mustang a shot.
Mustang spins out if you even try to move it an inch in any direction.
Yeah the mustang is not a noob friendly plane at all. The 50's are shit and it has a horrible stall characteristic.
That was good fun, but I've already forgotten the name of that huge glider with skis.
I think the best noob friendly plane would be a MiG. It steers like heaven. the next best would be the La-7.

People need to learn how to use the runway. Alot of the people I saw were just gunning it on land...
Also are jets not allowed? What about killing planes on the ground (with bombs, rockets, or guns?)?
People just don't like jets much and as far as I know you can shoot people on the ground unless they ask you not to.
Hey furohman. I was Dugan, the guy trying to teach you how to take off carriers
HE FUCKING SHOT HEAT SEEKING MISSILES AT ME! It's not easy to get away.
They are manually guided, not heat seeking you dolt.
The server usually follows the simple rules of: No jets, they are over powered and if the server will be using them you'll be told when you join (although this is a rarity in and of itself). No vulching, even though we mostly start in the air when we DO start on the runway/carrier vulching is highly discouraged and will be dealt with when it happens in large numbers.

The Spitfire is a nice plane to start out with, it's not very maneuverable but most planes that are aren't very noob friendly.

Thanks Dugan. I was Furohman, the guy who raised the sea level by the volume of 5 fighter planes.
I suggest the J2M5

I was Faren. The guy who ran into your plane.
I ran into people planes too.

Sign me up for that club. Some hugeass plane with floats on it, in my little wooden zero. Doubt anyone would still remember that, but sorry.

you take off yet? You can practice take off and landings in single player.
I thought I bumped off one of your stabilisers?
Also, do you want to teach me to fly better? :buddy:
[editline]04:50PM[/editline]
Well really I just need to learn to aim.

sure why not. Is 2nd's server still up
I'm pretty sure it is. I'll go on now.
be right there
Seems to have just gone down... I was on it for a few minutes and then it went down.
doesn't look like its up
Is TrackIR worth it?
I've been considering it for this, and Arma II
Speaking of ramming planes, I got up behind a B-17 and emptied every shot I had into it and it was still flying, and I was only 150m away from it or so, None of the shots missed, and there was a guy right behind me who couldn't get a shot in because I was in the way, so I just throttled up and Om Nom'd his tail
Guy who was behind me said in the chat 'Someone just Kamikaze'd a B17'
and I replied with 'I ran out of bullets' a third person chimed in Horatio would be proud
I killed a B17 with my landing gear. :D
could I play this on my netbook? how basic do the graphics go?
could I play this on my netbook? how basic do the graphics go?
Depends on the specs
I find that no matter the graphics settings I get no framerate change, except for when I throw Landscape detail on Perfect, then I take a hit, other than that, even if they're all on low, same 30 or so frames when they're all on high
It's a basic MSI wind but it's overclocked with more ram.
And that's probably because of vsync

You know, I never checked to see if Vsync was on.... holy shit I feel stupid. I would say the original IL2 Sturmovik could possibly run on your machine, but 1946 Includes all of the IL2 games, and with it a bit more intense graphics, although not too much
