Has anybody set up a server or something? There was alot of talk about playing this weekend.
Yeah there was. I suppose I could get one hosted, but we need a few more players before it gets fun.
Thinking of reinstalling.
Anybody who'd be interested in playing should post, now.
I'd play, but it's too late now I need to get up early tomorrow.
:saddowns:
I just got the trial for the xbox 360. If I like it enough I'll be getting this for PC.
So I was flying along in my b-24 planning to fuck someones shit up on the ground when out of nowhere my plane is in about 50 different kinds of fucked up I watched the replay and found this.

My friend accidentally recorded a session IL-2 a long time ago.

Yeah, that's me in the background.
brb, I'm fixing my install. Does anybody play on any good servers? I don't know if there are new ones.
We should get some FP server up like on the old days.
Especially now since I can fly.
Post your MP kills!
I only have one, my kittyhawk vs KI-87. We entered a climbing contest and he managed to stall into a tailspin somehow, so I shot him the fuck up whilist descending. Happened a year ago.
Felt good.
Reinstalling my copy on steam, anything I need to DL to play with you guys?
[editline]11th November 2010[/editline]
Oh it's already installed, still, anything to DL?
I think that all aircraft arcade planes pack or something.
HSFX 4.1, it's basically AAA but much better.

Only torrents available, all other download links are down.
It keeps getting stuck at 95% ingame, does it not like vista?
I don't know about vista, but it works fine in Windows 7.

Happened more than once....
This B-24 was taken down by a pilot bailing out of another plane and hitting the wing

There is a 3 picture group I cannot find right now looking from the ball turret of a B-17 looking down and photographing another B-17 being hit by falling bombs, breaking up and falling away...
I'm thinking about buying this, it's only 10 euros and looks worth your money, and I always wanted a plane simulator game.
Just a question, can you also play using the mouse for controls? because i have no joystick...
Keyboard is just fine. Everyone will say that it is impossible to play without a joystick, but in reality it's fine. It's much harder to do finite moves and as a consequence it will be much harder to shoot down other planes, but you'll get used to it.
Hell I used to play with my keyboard all the time against these guys. While I didn't do very well, I can't say I didn't have fun.
You should look into picking up a joystick though. It makes the game much more enjoyable overall if you have one.

You serious? A pilot snapped off the entire wing off a bomber?

Do you know a good, cheap joystick i could use? I found one of €20 so far, but still, I think i should just test if I like the game before buying a joystick

Just bought it, waiting for steam to finish downloading
Ahh damnit.
It was working, but then i went and added the MAT manager, and that fucked it up at 95% again.
I'm just thinking of leaving the damn thing stock.
Any modding seems to blow Il-2's mind.
Oh damn, in my playtime for it, steam says I've played it for 22 hours.

I have "60 minutes played today".
Which doesn't make sense...because today has consisted of 5 attempts to play, all resulting in 95% load errors, then the game not responding.

Logitech Attack3 is a nice cheap pair. It retails here for 20 USD. I imagine it should be a very similar price wherever you live.
The Saitek Av8r is damn good, I have the -01 variation and I love it.

that would be around €17
anyway, it's done downloading :woop:
Just hope it works
I recently got Rise of Flight and it made me enjoy flying the older planes all over again.
I had a nice little battle between some I-16's and some Gladiators. Nothing quite like an old turn-fight with some really nimble planes.
It almost feels like cheating when you take the I-16-24 (I think that's the one) with the 2 7.62 in the nose, and the 20mm cannons in the wings.
It's easy to get on someone's tail, and you can usually take apart their plane once you're there.
I didn't realise "Wings of Prey" on Steam was the sequel. I wish they'd put IL-2 Sturmovich before it, I almost completely missed it. The DRM is tough to deal with at first but the game is worth it.

I don't know that Wings of Prey is a sequel.
It was a more arcade version of Il-2 made for Consoles.
The closest thing Il-2 is getting to a "sequel" is Storms of War: Battle of Britain (Or whatever the hell they end up calling it in the end)
Anyone know why I get low fps? I used to run at max on my old graphics card, now I have a whole lot better and I get like 20 fps.
