[img]http://i42.tinypic.com/2uskahs.jpg[/img] Ahh, good old times. Flew a long distance with basically no tail(had to use my power up/down to go up/down), and crash landed sicne I overshow the runway and it was too risky to turn around. All of my crew survived.

Am I the only one who can't play without turning stalling and spins off? I always seem to get myself into an inescapable downward spiral to death and destruction when I try to turn a little bit too sharply. Also, if I even try to maneuver like the AI does I end up failing horribly and getting caught in a spin while they fly intricate circles and loops around me. Do they not get effected by stalling or spinning, even when it's turned on?

What is the current il2 patch version used by most servers, still 4.08m?

Instead of trying to take every opportunity you can to get the enemy in your sights, which usually means yanking your joystick around, try to do a little bit of planning. If your target doesn't have that much E (energy), he might try to dive to gain speed. Predicting and reacting accordingly to things like that is very important if you want to be a good dogfighter. Also don't turn as hard. If you know you can't turn to face your target without stalling then don't bother, try to find another way to swoop in behind him again.

I'm currently using the keyboard and mouse. I would use my 360 Pad if it wasn't so hard to fly with, the joysticks seem a little too touchy and a slight movement of the stick translates into and epic face-first dive into hell if I'm not careful. I prefer to use something with much more "freedom" than a pad anyway, not enough buttons for me.

If you're flying an A6M, it's actually good to have low speed because nothing can turn as fast as you at low speeds. But if you're flying something like a FW-190, you can pretty much only turn hard at highspeeds since everything will outturn you at normal dogfight speeds. And yeah the AI cheats (regardless of what plane they're flying), that's one of the bad things about this game. However if you play them for awhile you'll start to see their patterns and you'll eventually be able to shoot them down. Ace level AI has impossibly good aim and deflection so don't let them get anywhere behind you, or try do head-ons with them.

I am getting really annoyed at this problem as I can't find a solution for it. When I try to join a server via hyperlobby it says in the bottom right hand corner that i am running 4.07m even though I am running 4.08m, and the server gives me a error message telling me that my version is not 4.08m when I try to connect.

Love this game, i usually play Quick Missions with different settings on my Mac (aka iCrap as i usually call it)

For some reason 4.08m won't install properly, when i try to play multiplayer it says I am running 4.07m. Does anyone know a solution to this?

I might host, but I'd need a lot of people for my map.

God, I realy want to buy this game, But im not sure if i should if i dont own a joystick?.. What do you guys think. I love realism, But im not realy up to buy something for a game.. , Or is it realy worth it?.
