So I don't even get past the loading screen when I try to play. Start IL2 -> 5% -> Crash.

Got Wings of Prey the other day, but I don't have a joystick yet. I'll probably get this while its on sale too.

got a question for you guys. I've got most of my IL-2 setup on an Xbox 360 controller, but I have a problem with the throttle. The left thumbstick is used for the pitch and roll and the right thumbstick is for the throttle and for the rudders. My problem is that, however, I'd like the throttle to "lock." It stays at 50% because the axis, when not touched, settles in the middle like it should, but the game wants to think that it's a traditional HOTAS throttle and so I have to hold my thumbstick up in order to get 100% throttle. ideas/experiences?

Is this game easy to configure on a joystick or is it auto plug-and-play?

[QUOTE=MagicBurrito;26980975]Is this game easy to configure on a joystick or is it auto plug-and-play?[/QUOTE] you have to configure it yourself but it's REALLY easy to do if you know what each functions are (like if you know what trims are etc). you just have to know the vocabulary and you should be OK. important things are pitch, roll, rudders and throttle. you can get away without trimming or setting your flaps and other things like that, but they make flying a heck of a lot easier in the end Honestly, Wings of Prey is GREAT for teaching how to fly. IL-2 really just kind of says "have at it" even in the tutorials and it's very vague, while WOP is way more hands on plus that encyclopedia rules. I haven't played the demo but I'd imagine that the demo has the tutorial missions. I'd give that a try first (plus the control layout is just about identical to IL-2's and there's presets for just about every controller imaginable)

There is no fix for it.

o [editline]26th December 2010[/editline] oh also I have it on steam (so it's v9.0m) but I noticed in the full campaign mode and even when just flying regular missions, even without mods, all of the textures and shit bug out and go null. I have no idea what's going on here, and reinstalling doesn't seem to help. Any Steam users having the same problem?

I cant use rudders on my joystick as its overly fucking sensitive and turns rudders when I want to roll.

I love the dogfighting without external views, it was far better
