ok I can't find half of the things in the controller menu and I don't understand most of the words in that list. Can someone map out the names of the controls in game that Im looking for. also the button with the light and the button to the right of that aren't buttons, it's the mode thingy and the vibration.

I can't do without missiles. I maybe able to help out later but not at the moment sorry. Good luck though.

Rudder Left/Right (separate options) -Yaw. Turn left/right Elevator Trim Positive/Negative (separate options) -Adjust elevator trim settings a.k.a. how much you need to push up or down on the stick to stay level. Aileron Trim Left/Right (separate options) -Adjust aileron trim settings a.k.a. how much you need to push left or right on the stick to stay level. Flaps Up/Down (separate options) -Flaps pretty much control how much lift the wing gets. There are several preset options, usually Raised(flight), Combat(lower speed, more maneuverability), Take Off (<-), Landing(<-). This is High to Low. Higher ~= less lift, greater speed. Lower ~= greater lift, lesser speed. For the most part, "raised" is good enough- don't bother with the other settings unless you're taking off/landing. Gear Up/Down -Toggles whether your landing gear is up or down. Wheel Brakes -Used to slow down on landing once you've touched the ground. Don't hold, you'll flip over! Lock Tail Wheel -Good for take-offs- prevents tail wheel from moving and screwing you over when accelerating down the runway. I suggest you bind to a keyboard option. Weapon 1/2/3/4 -1 = main gun 2 = cannons 3 = rockets 4 = bombs Gunsight View -Not necessary, but very, very useful- zooms in on your reticule, making it easier to shoot down other planes. Normal View (I think that's what it's called, anyway) -Returns your regular view. If you're going by my suggestions, bind this to the other stick. Unfortunately, I don't think there's a toggle option for Gunsight view, so you have to use this. :( Bail Out -Eject! [/code] Some servers start you on the ground, so you'll probably want to bind Toggle Chocks to a keyboard button as well. It lets your wheels move so you can taxi to the runway. If you're planning on doing carrier landings, it's a good idea to bind Toggle Arresting Hook (I think) to a keyboard option, too. I think those are all of the essential basics. I think the game should recognize your gamepad, but if it doesn't go down to the HOTAS section in the controls and try binding your sticks there. I forgot to mention- Elevators raise and lower the nose. Ailerons roll the plane from side to side.

Could anyone please get this for me while it is on sale? My grandfather recently passed away and we used to play flight sims like this all the time. I want to honor his memory by playing this but I do not have the money to be able to purchase it right now. Thanks.

I kinda want to try this but I have no joystick and even no money to buy the game. :frown: Would it be complete fail to play this with keyboard/mouse? Also, isn't WoP made by the same dev as IL2? I thought WoP was kinda successor to IL2?

IL2 doesn't look all too bad but the ultimate decision makes IL2 the greater game if you're looking for gameplay. I'm still waiting for a [I]true[/I] IL2 successor.

Hah, I rammed a suicide jet into Profan's B17 bawmer yesterday. The Beaufighter is now my favorite plane, two engines, 4 .50 cals, 4 mg's, rockets and/or bombs.
