honestly, just save up the money and buy a good one you'll regret having a shoddy one later like me? my flight setup consists of the CH fighterstick, pro throttle and pro rudders (each $120+ but sub $150) and they work great but I really wish, now, instead I just bought the Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS because i'd prefer to have two engine throttles, the better layout of switches and buttons and the joystick is the same as the CH fighterstick (modeled after an f-16's) but with better response my CH setup is great but it's kind of upsetting now that I own it, y'know, when I could have gone better. i don't want you to be in the same boat, bud. just looking out for you. but a joystick just rocks your world once you get one. for flight sims it's purely a must. same with trackir.
Saitek Cyborg X. It's pretty awesome.
What are the differences?
One has force feedback.

I like having a little resistance in mine and from what I've experienced it's too easy. They're also hella expensive. I prefer Saiteks, I mod mine to make them stiffer. Add a little stopper underneath the spring

All programmable buttons with 2 different button sets that can be switched between with the big red toggle, yaw control with a twist of the joystick, dual throttle control if you want, and it's on amazon for 30 dollars.
Does that Throttle placement ever get a bit too awkward? And I have a Saitek X52. I never thought i'd find a sim that actually needs over 32 buttons. But here I am playing X Plane and IL-2.
So... Will I need to get 1946 again for Cliffs of Dover (CoD) or will it be standalone?
So... Will I need to get 1946 again for Cliffs of Dover (CoD) or will it be standalone?
cod is standalone.

Okay, i will be probably getting my Logitech Force 3D Pro tomorrow, so prepare your anus! :q:
Does anyone else play IL2 with the Logitech G940? Setting it up is a humongous pain, there's so many fucking buttons and I don't know what I should bind to where. If you've got a bind plan, it'd be much appreciated.
Just wanted to thank whoever suggested I change the config file manually for more resolutions. And the G940 doesn't look THAT bad. I mean, sure, it's got a lot of buttons, but not when compared the the X52/54. That thing takes DAYS to set up.
I bought this a long time ago from the Ubi store. How would I get the download back, or has it expired? Please note that it was about 2009 when I purchased it.

haha it's "released" now? BULL they promised us a beta six before commercial release, unless beta six is their ultra PR-friendly version. Beta four worked great other than particle lag. [editline]23rd February 2011[/editline] with that being said a-10c is so amazing. i finally learned how to fire rockets (two months later)!!! [editline]23rd February 2011[/editline] hay-hay, you ain't kiddin' though huh. oh well. this works for me!
beta 4 was quite buggy, a number of cockpit dials/buttons didnt work and apparently people who patched from a previous version couldnt play online with people who installed the full version. personally i havnt been able to get into it properly yet, could do with quick reference of the keyboard layout, i found a nice one for black shark when i first started playing it and it really helps with the 500+ buttons i dont think anyone made one for A-10C yet though which is a bit annoying as its even more complicated
Huh, I think I have a flight sim like this lying around somewhere. Might be this, but after reading the thread a bit, I guess not :frown:
As much as like to say the DCS series taught me the complete startup procedure for a KA-50, I don't think I even vaguely remember where the radio frequency dial is.......or where the general ignition is..........or how to get in the cockpit. ..............Yeah, I think i'm just gonna stick with my Lerche.

Kinda annoying currently trying to read my own papers and always forgetting what button did what.

If anybody ever needs a server hosted, I usually host one on Hamachi with friends every few days. Add me on Steam.
Will host again this weekend, be ready. [editline]24th February 2011[/editline]
If anybody ever needs a server hosted, I usually host one on Hamachi with friends every few days. Add me on Steam.
get off your lazy ass and forward the ports you dummy
Fuck I'm out of town this weekend. Oh well, I still haven't bought another joystick so I might as well do that sooner rather than later.
I hope it will be a fuck around and attempt synchronized aerial acrobatics kind of server.
hahahahahahhhhhaha the new gau-8 sounds amazing
what controller do you use? if its a x52 do you have a good profile that actually works, all the profiles that people released in the beta are fucked up for me. so tempting just to buy a ch setup or a thrustmaster warthog as they seem to have much better support both from there manufactures and the community
i have a CH fighterstick, pro throttle and pro rudders and all of this is coupled with trackir 5 but trackir makes all of the difference and gives me so much more control than the hotas does it seems. using the stick and rudders becomes second nature although i wish i really did just buy the thrustmaster warthog because unlike the cougar model thrustmaster made, evidently the warthog model just blows every other hotas out of the water plus obviously it's made for the a-10c so to me that's an instant buy if you're going for ease of use. a lot of the controls you're going to be using upon initial startup and whatnot are built right on to the throttle handle itself so it'd be even easier [editline]24th February 2011[/editline] if you want to read further in to it [editline]24th February 2011[/editline] and actually with my ch setup, it's all kinda based in the profile set up with the CH software. i mean obviously you have to assign the axis and stuff in game but it's not as hard as some complain about with the x52. i've never had a problem setting it up with anything. i've been playing a new zero with my CH hotas, too, AND trackir with no problem.
