i'll buy it for you
i'll buy it for you
I need the game again too, since I can't get the fucking download back.
i'll buy it for you
damn dude, you don't have to do that. I can figure out something
Just ordered TrackIR 5, and it should arrive next week. Now I just need to pre-order CoD on steam!
Awww I loved IL2, too damn poor to get the game near release though, no fun seeing all the vulchers on release damnit!
I've been out of the Flight Simulator scene for quite sometime, I recently reinstalled 1946 but playing with this old Logitech Wingman, it seems really off. Now that CoD is coming out, I reckon it's time for a new Flight Stick, I'm intrigued by the X-52 you lot are talking about, and noticed one on ebay for around $120, I imagine it's fairly decent. However are there any other ones I should keep my eye out on, preferably one's that won't break the bank.
IL2 always turned me off because of how "old" it felt. Not that the graphics were bad or anything just that a whole lot of things were annoying me. How performance is quite bad regardless of your pc and the fact that the resolution doesn't go above 1280x800 or whatever it is. The new game looks very good but I doubt I'll be able to fly for shit with my 360 controller. I just wobble around like mad and it is very expensive so I'm not sure if I can even afford it.
If you get the X-52, make sure it's the X-52 Pro.

Damnit new IL-2 comes out in 11 days and my flight stick breaks. Anyone know a good one? Preferably with a throttle. X-52 seems great, if only it didn't look like shit with the blue LEDS and stuff (or is that just some shitty photoshopping in the images to make it look more "hardcore pr0"?).

If you're not happy with the graphics, that guide has different options for graphics, or you can download graphic modifiers. Does anybody know what Safe Dlls does in HSFX5? Call me a retard but I can't find anything about it, I also know nothing about dlls in IL2 or anything for that matter. I need to kill some of Hitler's pilots later with my friend :hitler:.
Just ordered TrackIR 5, and it should arrive next week. Now I just need to pre-order CoD on steam!
nice. I've had trackIR for a long time and it's one of the coolest things ever.

I do have some problems with it though. I've had it for some years, and now the joystick part is having some connection problem. It's a pain in the ass when you're doing some manouvers and it suddenly dosn't react. Then I have to let go off the stick to let it re-centre and fiddle around with the connector until it works again. [editline]20th March 2011[/editline] Oh, and gimme some money for that advice so I can buy TrackIR!
it's p much only dx9 too even though devs say it has dx10 and dx11 support it only covers britain, belgium and france iirc hence the title there's a lot of other disappointing factors in, too, but it's supposed to have identical gameplay to il-2 sturmovik. I'm thinking, by the way it looks, is that Cliffs of Dover is part one of a multi-part series of additional games. sturmovik, for example, is a combination of il-2, il-2 pacific fighters etc and it expanded over the years
I hope so. The main thing that attracted me too Sturmovik was the fact that I can fly any plane I wanted, any where, and do anything. It's basically a WWII aircraft sandbox. If Cliffs of Dover turns into an even better version of that, then I'm sold. Currently however, I think I'll stick with Sturmovik and save my money for other things.
Currently however, I think I'll stick with Sturmovik and save my money for other things.
haha i thought you said better things for a ssecond i was going to say "what; name one promising title coming out this year"
haha i thought you said better things for a ssecond i was going to say "what; name one promising title coming out this year"
I can name a few but I can't name a few promising titles I've been waiting YEARS for other than this.

I never got this game to work when I bought it and I gave up for a long time. Then it started working randomly, woo. First thing I do is accidently drop my payload while i'm figuring out how to takeoff :v:

Dangit, just as I start to put away money for Rise of Flight I find CoD. Can anyone recommend which game for me (based after how good IL2 was for CoD)? My current setup is a X-52 and TrackIR 5.

I have mine at half brightness. Even at full brightness it's not too bad, it's just most people take photos in their poorly lit rooms and the cameras overexpose the brightness of the LEDs. Besides for that price it's a pretty damn good stick. Be warned though, it's really loose. I still prefer my Logitech Attack3 because the stick is so damn solid and hard to move. The fact that this stick moves if you blow hard enough has bothered me a bit. There's a really simple modification that you can do without voiding your warranty that'll help though. Still a damn good stick because that throttle is sexy, and you can never have enough buttons.
So guys, I've been trying to install ultrapack/HFX for a bit now, and no matter what I do, it's crashing at 5% I did all sorts of crazy installing/uninstalling/reinstalling and patches shit, and it just, keeps, crashing. (Although at one point I had it installed and doing *nothing*!). Can I get some common fixes/other mods that let me fly everything?
The way to install HSFX is to get a clean install, patch up to 4.101m (4.08m, then 4.09m, then 4.10m and then 4.101m), install HSFX and activate it with the mod manager it comes with. Be sure you delete the IL2 directory before reinstalling, you want a blank slate.
Tictac walked me through the install on steam, but the B-29 doesn't seem to work. The atomic carrying version does, though...
Tictac walked me through the install on steam, but the B-29 doesn't seem to work. The atomic carrying version does, though...
Cut your losses then I guess? Honestly as long as everything else is working you'll be fine, the B29 is shit to play in anyway (besides heavy trolling with your guns and nukes).
i miss flying the b29 in circles while everyone tries shoot me down futilely
